  • Love this song.

  • I missed the Fender Stratocaster !

    Good Performance

  • Ted Turner often wore those white suits. He does not look healthy in this video, women used to throw underwear and keys up to him. A real babe magnet. This video is amazing, this band really works it and they do know where the rock is in rock 'n roll.

  • PAS BELLE LA VIE !! encore et encore du wishbonne !!!

  • Where is Ted Turner Now?

  • @garymiell Lives in Phoenix Arizona. Was talking about reforming for another re-union when i saw him last

  • When this show was gone?

  • jeff beck = stratocaster stones= gibson FLYNG V WISHBONE +GIBSON

  • Ted just walks up and down that guitar neck like a street that's named after him. His timing and punch are musical gifts. Heckuva guitarist, heckuva band.

  • Awesome guitar playing, full of feel and fire. Great tandem playing, loved this clip. Thanks for posting.

  • I missed the Gibson Flying V.

  • excellent; turner and powell were something else, real guitars with wings, and stonking bass from martin in the background

  • Love this....I've got tons of pics of shows from the bottom line....my favorite place in the whold world to see a show,....I liek seeing Andy still trying to hold on to his hair...Ted Truner nevee missed a beat...I would loved to have seen Andy, Ted and Laurie play togethere they could've kicked ass as the best 3 guitar band......

  • Great to see and here Ted again.

  • Ted defines what this song is all about. What a guitarist.

  • go Ted

  • hey andy, we both got wet that nite x wow

  • Joe Satriani is a fan!!!!!!!

  • This piece of Art shows that mainstream music means nothing. Music is not a sale product, it´s a form of art and comunication.

  • unfortunately for music art, we get shit produced by major labels. It is rather coincidental that the Beatles were pop. Until epic aniwar songs like 'fortunate son' and hendrix's 'machine gun' we will never hear music from the soul on the radio dial. At least new music.... However , I find it rewarding that I have to search for good new music. Perhaps narcissistic, but I feel more cultured when I listen to great music by looking for it. Music is not dead, we just need to look for it

  • one of their best songs.

  • PHENOMENAL SYSTEME WHISBONE GENIAL

DU PUR DE L'ELECTRIQUE ROCK D'ENFER

circulez les jeunes rien a voir rebel 68 !!

  • RNBJ22 is a pussy

  • yes Ted is indeed great here....but for my £££=worth -what they are worth nowadays... Andy holds is all together with his superglue style

i believe this is (ironically) called SYNCHRONICITY (there are two jokes here)

  • whos all inthis band?

    anyone famous????

  • Strange Affair - it's the one after Hear to hear...i think it was 1991.

  • Ted starts to lay it down starting at 4:26

    Great guitar player

  • Mmm... The line-up is... ????

  • Andy, Ted, Martin and Ray Weston on drums.

  • dear wishbone ash, you are too talented for rock music. hahah

  • funny, i posted that i had left andy powell standin in the rain one day- remember andy? but some1 took the post off- wonder why- haha i got a sense of humour, nice twin guitar guys-my guys love use, u nutters, xx wherever u are..

  • you wondered "wherever you are"; well they're still touring. checkout their web-site.

  • Phenomenal! Ted takes no prisoners on this one - relentless. A while back the fan club voted "Standing" their no.1 and it has to be my own favourite Ash number of all time.

  • amazing!:D

  • pyongyang

  • Ted Turner for president!!

  • Ted Turner is excellent!

  • Ted has every note and vibrato where it sounds perfect to me; I'm not a musician but wow this guy sure lays down a textured performance. Surprised you don't hear more about him.

  • I agree! He's got so much feel when he plays, and he never shows off. As a guitaist myself I have a lot of respect for him.

  • J'ADORE CETTE BASSE BIEN GRASSE ,T'EST UN DIEU WIHSBONE!!! one number guitare = la classe = alvin lee (ten years after) = whisbone ash genial

  • C'EST BON TOUT CA KOKO LA CLASSE PUR JUS PUR ROCK GUITARE FENDER OU GIBBSON YES VERY GOODDDD!! ca pete le FEUX !!!

  • Very interesting contrast with the Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash of this brilliant song.

  • I saw Wishbone do this song in Houston about 5 years ago. They are simply the best band ever and easily the most underrated and unknown band.

They first blew me away in 1971 when I was in El Paso and heard their first LP while living in Anapra, New Mexico.

  • These guys are amazing performers. Is Andy Powell playing a Fender Jaguar? Is Turner playing a Smith Strat?

  • think andy is playing a musicman

  • What were their original equipments,,,guitars and amps?

  • best known were flying v,strat, thunderbird base.ted and andy started with fire bird mark sevens.ted had a 3 pu black lp custom till it was stolen, mart played fender base or rickenbacker before "discovering" the t b.

andy played flying v most of the time,he had a smart 3 pu custom job but rarely played it.

early amps were mainly orange, helping to sell many of this previously little used brand. there is a posting of blowing free featuring ted on a sunburst firebird. (andys was white).

  • the lead guitar sounds like Dave Murray of Iron Maiden.

  • The intro sounded very maidenish

  • Probably because Main's biggest influence is these guys

  • I know this is probably one of the biggest similarities tho.

  • No, the other way round I think you will find.

  • Maybe Laurie Weisefield was a better guitarist (only maybe) but Ted Turner and Andy Powell playing twin lead together was just just perfection. My hairline has followed Andy's through the years so I 've been a fan for a long time. seen a lot of bands over the years, never seen one better.

  • I first saw them around 71, always thought they were brilliant. Check out Wishbone Ash - Jail Bait - 1971 on YOUTUBE tosee them live on Old Grey Whistle Test. There best beside Argos album was NEW ENGLAND check out on here all the German Rockpalast videos esp. Wishbone Ash Persephone. How the hell did that modern group ASH get that name, it belongs to the one and only Wishbone ASH!!!

  • biggest secret in rock.

amazing stuff, should be massive. They are playing in a tiny venue near me in a month or so, I'm gonna be there.

  • Can't get enough of their sound.

  • Is this available on DVD format ?

  • +1. I know I'd buy it...

  • Wishbone ash im Heimathaus Twiest Emsland gesehen.

    Ein Superconzert.

  • This isn't the original Ash line up as Ray Weston is on drums....but pretty close..

  • fabulous sound. A band isn't good by the number of people that know them. They are good for its music. Ash forever

  • I'd like to know how you pull off having this much talent without becoming ridiculously famous. My wife is the biggest rock fan I've ever known and she hardly knows anything about Ash.

  • You should probably check out Starcastle too then - same time frame same prog rock label.

  • Yes!! I Loved starcastle. Never heard anyone else mention them. Rock on!!

  • The same Andy Powell that played with Jeff Beck early on?

  • My bad, that was Cozy Powell...duh!!

  • This is the 1989 reunion tour that I attended...Martin Turner, Ted Turner, Steve Upton and Andy Powell.....the original and the best...

  • It is indeed Ted Turner and they both looking completely different....you better go to speck savers trianglelover!

  • i must have accounted for over half of those play counts >_<

  • I prefer the Ted Turner Wishbone to the Laurie Wisefield Wishbone. I think most WA fans would agree.Still--this is the best band "that never had a hit single" .

  • only a blind man can confuse Ted Turner with Laurie Wisefield.

  • lmao - well put, how can someone possibly confuse the two :S

  • I would just like to take this opportunity to say that my ex-(boss) is a complete cunt and I hope he dies in the very near future, his name is John Reeves, On time communications Ltd, thank you.

  • By The Way, I love Wishbone Ash.

  • Oh yea! and his nauseating little turd of a foreman can stick his soldering iron up his arse too!! Mervyn Vicary, REMEMBER that name, he IS an utter and complete turd of the first order!

  • That's NOT Ted Turner playing lead...that's the GREAT, "Laurie Wiesfield" singing and playing lead! Wishbone Ash was never the same when Laurie left...which was a shame because he left to play for "Tina Turner"!

  • Sorry mate, its definitely Ted Turner! I agree, Laurie Wisefield is an absolute legend, but this isn't him. Its definitely Ted, because Ted wrote (i think) and sang it on "Strange Affair" (the album).

  • @01jocooper He did write this its about flying to america, getting to Chicago and being told to go back because some paperwork wasnt right. She was left standing in the rain!

  • Blinding solo from Ted.

  • favourite =D

  • that's Ted Turner!

  • i´ve heard a lot of these guys and i still can´t get enough!!! i love this band very very fuckin´ much

  • Awesome. Ted Turner is god.

  • bold bro!

  • yeah forget Clapton - Ted Turner all the way!

  • I wish the sound quality had been better but it's great to see this regardless. These guys can flat out play guitar! Terrific work.
