Hey Daze... check out Leslie West performing Mississippi Queen and Crossroads at the World Trade Center in New York City 30 days before the towers fell in 2001. I posted them on youtube think you and any LW fan would totally enjoy...
i just went to see him, it was feaken amazing, got to shake hands with him, he signed my guitar so did the whole band & gave me a free signed poster! it was amazing!
Great point, but think about it. Lets see where Mississippi sits on the map... hmmmm, holy shytttt!!! Its in the South Dude!
As for the song, its not southern rock its CLASSIC ROCK. Like most great rock music, the south, north, east and west can relate. Legendary music is just that.... Legendary.
THAT is the Loch Ness Monster of the Long Island Sound. The last of the GREAT DINOSAURS. The fat Jewish boy with enough soul to overfill the pearly gates. Leslie ate his way to fame and makes some of the best hard rock and blues sounds that will EVER be recorded. Check out thegreatfatsbies dot com, my tribute to the monster

great song and ha, had to check the lyrics to see if he was singin' "down around Pittsburgh" (being from the 'Burgh" myself). ROCK ON! check out Icarus Witch - a new metal band from the 'burgh now Vicksburg is near???? thanks for posting this song
A true Rock Legend. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Leslie West at his best. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones on the same stage couldn't create that kind of Angry Rock & Roll Emotion. That kind of raw emotion breaks out of only ONE GUITAR, and that guitar is trademarked to only ONE MAN, Mr. Leslie West.
A particularly heavy version of Mississippi Queen by the real deal. Cant see a thing but when Leslie West plays guitar SIGHT IS SECONDARY, that sound IS TRADEMARKED to only ONE MAN. The Rolling Stones and teh Beatles combined on one stage couldnt generate that much bass and raw guitar anger. Show em how its DONE Leslie. Raw rock and roll at its very, very, very BEST.
Mountains Mississippi Queen, is a southern rock anthem that should be on a pedistal with the likes of Ramblin Man and Freebird...after all they were First....Rock On!!!!Leslie
Leslie West is such a guitar great.. one of the fathers of hard rock and metal... the sweetest heavy sound feather touch in the guitar world. Leslie is better that anyone realises
"Not hard to find this band; left a trail of smoldering amps wherever they went."

Leslie is from NYC. Why is this tune considered a "southern rock legend"?
I mean, I love the tune, but that's just nuts.

Great song and artist. Leslie West knows his stuff when it comes to playing guitar. A number of artists have been influenced by him. Very talented.
