  • does anyone freestyle on these tunes?! the guy on 00:54 is a killer!

  • Amazing players...left me simply 'breathless'...all the best, di

  • Amazing player...diana

  • Brilliant stuff !!!

  • I've always been impressed with how these musicians can play for that long, seemingly without taking a breath. I would never be able to play this instrument.

  • They do breathe. It is circular breathing they use

  • circular breathing is not hard. just a bit confusing at first. it takes very little air to play a didge.

  • hes you would. every average pearson would, with practoce. you may not be able to play as well as this guy, but with a little determination and persistence it's not that hard to learn.

  • Truth be told, the reason I wouldn't be able to play the didgeridoo is because it seems to be one of those instruments you have to buzz your lips to use. And I cannot stand doing that. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I'd rather listen and enjoy the music of those who don't mind buzzing their lips.

  • lol, fair enough.

for me personally it's when somebody runs his hand up the fabric. if playin didge was like that for me i also wouldn't play it.

well, at least you can enjoy listening.

    ;-)

  • its called circular breathing. while pushing the air out of your mouth u breath in ur nose not skipping a sound

    its simple to do

  • we love this its fantastic ....

much love peace smiles n music

    x

  • well this video isn't america. learn about the aboriginal culture before you go and diss it i think it's amazing that the indiginous australians can make music out of a plain ol' tree! the music is great!

you can stay and listen to you're symphony, but us australians appreciate this music and don't even want people like you watching these movies if you're going to insult the culture,

  • If you wanna give it ago post a video see how hard you fail. idiot.

  • haha i wont call you an idiot cos ur a complete utter twat

  • this is GOD !!!! the neighbors kids should be scared !!!

  • The yirdaki works like a drum. It is a rhythmic instrument. But if you were a real music lover you would have understood that straight away.

  • Obviously he is a dumbass

  • aha another complete utter twat

  • ive never known(awesome sound btw)is the digeri used for spiritual purposes or is it like the pipes in ireland, as a terror weapon, or to communicate over distance, knew an ozzy that played a much smaller one with a high pitch and never wanted to seem ignorant.i really gotta figure out how to incorporate this sound into the scheme of things

  • dijereedoos (sp?) are soooooooooo freakin' hard to play omg!!! max props to this guy!

  • well- O.M.G- I.K.

  • very true, ignorance and not taking the time to understand another culuture is why there are still raciests and dumb people

  • it's disappointing people have to mock what they don't understand.

  • Leave it for dumb white trash hill billies to not appreciate any instrument they don't knowof, then again they only know their sisters or dads. Stupid ignorant fucks should just run into traffic and do the world a favor. I enjoyed this video, 5 stars.

  • To make a stereotype out of a stereotype is every bit as bad as the original offense. Respond to hatred with love, to evil with good, to ignorance with education. It may sound cliche, but it's so true, and so relevant.

And for the record, I enjoyed the vid as well. I love the sound of the didgeridoo.

  • you're a dumbass

  • I thought the last dude was bad ass! Not the part when he used his little twig but the sound he made had a type of beat to it. Sounded kinda metal-ish to me.

  • well you've just shown your lack of intelligence (y)

  • It saounds like a wicked animal which isnt discovered yet :P

  • fantastic

  • thanks!

  • Get a life. Just because they don't look like the guys walking the streets of America doesn't make them racist. learn to respect other cultures.

  • but hes black! RACIST

  • WHAT? How is it racist??

  • WHAT? why? :P

  • I reckon that Djakapurra was awesome in this video. Infact as good (if not better than Larry).

  • Wow! I actually preferred Djakapurra to Larry in this video. If Djakapurra plays this well please may i see more videos of him playing yirdaki?

  • when did they travel to nz?are they travelling to nz again?im keen yidaki player from NZ and wud LOVE to see yolngu yidaki played live, is there a website i register on2 so i can recieve info on them? cheers

  • VERY nice indeed.

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

  • This is really some incredible footage.........I keep coming back to these clips............truly spectacular playing all around.............!!

  • speakless =:o

  • Pure magic on that mighty grumpy yidaki! thank you!

  • pure magic ok!

  • A Planet without this culture is unthinkable!

  • I raise my glass to that! Glass with water that is ;-)

  • Larry is incredibly gifted and his playing is really inspiring. Keep em coming !

  • Thanks mate, will keep em coming alright! Hope you keep listening!

  • Every time I see Larry play Im just blown away...his rhythms are amazing... I would love to see him play live some day...Larry, you are a truely special player.... Thanks once again for the clip...

  • Larry is different to other Yolngu players in the way he composes his rhythms. His sense of timing, when he is focussed, is impeccable - and when he does his syncopation thing it is out of this world! Speed isn't everything, but balance and playing tricks with rhythms and timing - when done properly, is so enjoyable to listen to.
