Well, if it was not overdubbed, there would have been no reason to make him sound like back then because... he would have sung it back then... Dont you think? :p
It is overdubbed. You can argue with that but you wont change that
Axl about Coma: "I think one of the best things that I've ever written was maybe the end segment of the song "Coma". It just poured out." Cant agree more on that...
I dont get why they had to overdub the lyrics i mean Axl is great live.. i know sometimes he sounded a bit bad but thats what made the guns concerts so awesome!
I don't think those vocals were bad...AT ALL! ... I just think that probably the label just needed a new product and so they made him re-record only the vocals track...and also the band name now belonged only to axl and there was no way to make them work on something together again. This is my opinion of what probably happened.
To me looks pretty clear that the whole "live era" thing is basically done with some old music (mostly from the 1992 Tokio shows, please listen carefully to the guitar solos and mistakes, they all fit perfectly!!!!) with the vocals overdubbed. I don't mean to bash on Axl, I totally dig almost everything he does, but this is the truth. Old music with overdubbed lyrics.
watch the wikipedia page of this record..there someone has written which song is from which concert...and those fits perfectly....som actually are from tokyo but its not more then 3 or 4 i think...still....theres no overdubbing...youve been listenen to too much backstreet boys..real bands dont dub things
There is clear overdubbing in Nightrain, , for sure You Could Be Mine, November Rain (along with piano part), Sweet Child o Mine, Rocket Queen, very likely Mr. Brownstone, Estranged. That is just from top of my head

Back in 1994 I was in a coma for 24 days. During that time, this song was RINGING in my entire conciousness. I had strange visions of Axl Rose dictating my life, making choices FOR me, while Duff held my hand leading me in the right direction under Axl's instructions. Whenever I decided to think for myself, Axl would get the piston of his gun, aim it at my head and say "shoot the son of a bitch again". It was a traumatic experience, and again highlights the "dark" nature of this song.
Slash has gotta be one of the best damned guitarist I have ever seen. And I mean it - I put him WAY up there with Page, Clapton, Rhoads, and SRV. He has alot more than just talent. He has soul that is a rare find, in any era & type of music. I would love to see him live someday...we'll see!
For me it is from 5:58 mark on. Un-fking-believable. The part before that nicely shows how he wakes up from coma, while from 6:00 he has already woken up and sensations from newly acquired "overlife" are pouring down on him
fucking idiot why did you turn izzy around, he's not lefyhanded why did you mirror him????

@zivadira That's the reason I really don't care for the CD. If I want to hear his "new" style of singing, I'll go watch some "New GN'R" videos.

You are partially true. It is available on any Japanese and and vinyl edition. I will correct the description, thanks

I know Germany is part of Europe, after all i am from the Czech Republic so I have to know.
I made a mistake in description. This song is available on Japanese edition or or vinyl editions.

He can play fast, but he doesn't much, because he has subtlety. Not many guitarists have both. His blues licks are crazy too.
xXKaM1KaZe 3 years ago 2
Yea, he knows what to do. He is a very musical guitarist he totally likes to not overdo it.

Exactly, IMHO best song they did and those last 2 minutes...Orgastic!!!

I don't think he "overdubbed his voice a couple of years later"..unless you have the Japanese version that says so on the liner notes.
