  • I've not been in possession of my entire music collection for 7 years now; it is in storage in another country. I am looking for the GSYBE track that has this spoken sample at the beginning and I've yet to find it. A title would be much appreaciated:

God of this country, unites everyone

    If -

    Then we’ll have him!

    God Bless God

There’s only salvation born in Jesus Christ!

-That's part of it anyway. Thx anyone.

-and thx for the impeccable upload, or I wouldn't be hearing my own music collection ; )

  • this is the song that would be playing during the end of the world

  • Wow. lol xDDD

  • Just found out that the preacher is actually a woman, the voice has just been slowed down.

  • @AmazingPurpleCat

    Who is the preacher?

  • whos that 1 idiot?

  • 11:20 is trippy ass shit.

  • Thumbs up if you want me to send you the Preacher's speech, send me a message.

  • all of life's answers are in those sounds

  • Every time when the woman starts speaking and the strings start, I get chills, truly magical song

  • Utterly terrifying to listen to on headphones. Not knocking it. Just saying.

  • @50Dashes it is...i like the song as a whole but the part where that girl starts speaking is so scary to me and im listening to it in speakers

  • @Deathend Alright, go back to your dubstep little guy.

  • I cant understand what the preacher says, can someone write it down? THis would be great cause then I can render it into german ;)!

    Great Music!

  • @ZerberusGER are you talking about what starts around 4:30?

  • @sonikkuffffff

Yes, but now i know. Thanks for it!

  • Google it, I tried to post it for you lol. Happy New Year! These lyrics are quite meaningful and potent... they are REAL.

  • @ZerberusGER I have the whole speech but there's no way I can post it here because it's way to long...

  • @Stupiverse Can you send it to me via private message please?

  • @Imiface Just did.

  • @Stupiverse Thank you!:)

  • @ZerberusGER I did a lot of googling and put together the entire speech. Message me and I'll send you it. It's too long for a reply.

  • This hits hard.

  • I don't believe in God. I don't believe in any kind of deity at all, and yet, I get tears in my eyes and creeped out when I hear that priest speak,

because when I listen to this song, and even though I completely disagree with him afterwards or before.

only during the listening of this song, I secretly start believing a little of what the priest says...

  • @puddingball This is partially (mainly?) because he speaks of it not as GOD like most religions. He does not sketch it to you as a mighty overlord, but more like a concept which YOU fill in.

I remember once asking my mother (who was raised a Catholic) what she believed God looked like, or was. She thought of it more as an energy or a light of some sorts. Now this priest makes you think of 'God' in a similar manner. At least, I think this might be a good sketch of what you are experiencing.

  • I loved seeing this performed live, got it on video too. Seriously one of the best concerts of my LIFE, I can die happy now.

  • Man, this song just aint from this world...

  • all their songs are so awsome!

  • @ACraZedSnIpeR until you went and said that

  • @Jakeshark dammit

  • Anyone could say some details about the speech from 4:40? Is it some prophet speaking? I really love it, with the violins in the background.

  • @Imiface If I recall correctly, the speaker is a preacher from the United States. From what he says it seems apparent to me that he is talking about spiritual enlightenment in terms of Christianity.

  • @ARURTOREYES Thanks mate. Spiritual elnlightenment, yeah, that makes sense in that song's context.

  • These guys are an enigma.

  • twenty two and a half minutes well spent!

  • The part at 16:00 is intense.

  • sample around 4:00, is that in a BOC track on geogaddi? In the boc track there's someone saying 'well I'll be gone about a week...'

  • Tis reminds me of MarbleHornets... Idk why... maybe it's the static and incomprehensible talking

  • Who's charlie?

  • and this comment goes out to thecuregalore, i looked at your account. I dont see any place for you to post such stupid shit considering that you have shit on your favorites, and uploads, that make it seem like you are a fuckin 7 year old. fuck you

  • I dont see how some dip-shit can just call out a godspeed song. i mean, if you have ever felt a strong emotional change, or reaction to any of their songs then you wouldn't be on here calling out their music as if you could do anything better. They are a progressive instrumental band, and they are are all about timing. Further more, i'd love to see some really talented music that you could come out with so you could prove me wrong.

  • @Thecuregalore94

The point of music is to make you feel something and to have an effect on you. If you only listen to music for how complex and how many instruments there are in a song, then I actually feel sorry for you.

If this music doesn't affect you or make you feel anything, then its your fault, not theirs.

  • @MeltedGecko Don't get me wrong, I like GYBE but it must be said that their music is all very similar and very little actually happens. Their music would fit better as a depressing film soundtrack than an actual band.

  • @Thecuregalore94 True, sorry for being all menstrual about it, was pretty sleepy... and drunk

  • @MeltedGecko No problem at all, it was my fault for criticising the band on one of their more popular tracks :S

  • @Thecuregalore94

I found this track extremely fascinating when I first heard it back in the early 2000s; but some of their other "interviews with crazed luminaries" have apparently proven to be canards. It loses a lot of its impact when it's just an actor trying to sound crazy, instead of an authentic lunatic. "When Found Sound Just Isn't Bizarre Enough: The Godspeed You! Black Emperor Story" Coming soon to VH4.

  • These guys remind me a lot of Pink Floyd, their music tends to be larger in scope, grander scale, epic (overused, cliche word, I know).

  • I can hear the tragedy of the Vietnam War.

  • @juggalosoup420 *starts to write reply* *sees username* lolnope

  • @Pwnscarx FUCKING OWNED!

  • @Pwnscarx haha classic

  • @Pwnscarx

One does not simply reason with clowns.

  • It gets best at about 4:30, when the woman starts to speak.

  • Godspeed you! Black Emperor... yours is the scariest of music. because it's real, so real, too real. Harbinger of truth. My only hope is it won't happen. It's a weak hope.

  • pinnacle of melancholy

  • apparently they named their band after the assassination of Martin Luther King, jk

  • @mattarpaneer2 Not really. Check the wiki article about them.

  • @mattarpaneer2 Its named after some Japanese documentary.

  • @mattarpaneer2 Nope

  • A masterpiece...

  • anyone else think the crazy preacher sounds a bit like john malkovitch?

  • 0:01 - 3:36 Introduction

    3:36 - 7:20 Song

    7:20 - 17:10 Theme and Variations

    17:10+ Finale

  • @iboshi2 No, 17:10+ is the coda.

  • wat

  • something else, just beautiful

  • Simply amazing
