  • I remember Ma' wouldn't let it in the house but the music was awesome... or is it compared with the racket that pollutes 21st century airwaves that this music is untouchable?

  • Saw Sugerfoot in New Orleans 2yrs ago and they did this sung..funked it up...ahh the memories of true music, truly a real talented band!!

  • Ohio Players true funk band

  • The Ohio Players were the shitt!!

  • Gooooood funk!!!!! young bloods pay attention. If the future has this music we have a future.

  • It was sad. I don't watch unsung because it makes people look like failures at life. But most of it is caused by drugs.

  • as a young child my older brother would have this playing and all I can remember is the album cover then I would open it and this beautiful black women was pouring honey all over herself I was about 4or5 and a girl ....but I knew that was HOT !!! .....never forgot that picture

  • LOVE THIS

  • One of my all time favorites from the Players from Ohio. Combining sultry jazz rhythms and a pinch of funk.

  • I'll just never run out of honey !

  • Met them in Albany,NY at a club called "The Soul Shack" ,they were hot then. Even got to style Sugars bush[fro]. They were friends of a group out of QueensNY. called "The Forgotten People". Sorry to learn of Satch's passing.Love u guysl Would love to see group on UNSUNG again.

  • Thought it was a young boy.

  • WAX

  • Hot basement party in Philly 70's!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why this group won one Grammy is inexcusable!!

  • This song is so infectious!! I must have listened to this 10 straight times!!!! It's funny the Skin tight song I searched for the years finally found it and them as the artists and downloaded the Skin tight album and loved it. Now I gotta get the rest of their albums. And this song and love rollacoaster I've heard for yrs and never knew they were their songs.

  • Sorry! Not Junie on keyboards during this time. He had left the band before this album. William 'Billy' Beck is the keyboard player. Check out the official Ohio Players web sight on all the personel changes over the years.

  • I often saw this band's name in the USA charts in the 1970's,in music magazines, but, being from Great Britain,i never knew who they were, until today,36 years later!!!MAN,THEY ARE THE BEST!! Im collecting all their stuff now!

  • Love this song with that funkin sax solo

    Thank you

    Johnny Blas

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh funk what i need in my life

  • Layedback,for me.LMBO

  • Best funk "band" of all time. Great songs, players and singers. Nobody is this cool anymore.

  • Hmmm... The general consesus seems to be that this music, which has stood the test of time and is still relevant today is far superior to the junk thats produced today, which by the way seems to have a shelf life of about 30 days. Looks like the "Tape Exam" needs a Brain exam.

  • there's a scream in this song, too...coincidence?

  • Junie!!!

  • you can't touch the best

    EEF

  • the best ever

  • DAYTON'S OWN. SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXYY O. PLAYERSSSSS!!!

  • This music rocks and is by far better than any of the crap coming out in mainstream now... not even comparable. And I'm 26... this isn't even my generation's music.

  • Yep,this is IT !!!

  • I haven't got to my 50 something but you are so right, "TOTAL COLLAPSE" !!

  • Group Home sampled this for "My So-Called Friends".

  • WHEN WILL THE OHIOPLAYERS GET IN THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME & HOW MANY PLAYERS HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THEY GET THEIR PROPER RESPECT FROM THE MUSIC INDUSTRY??

    JUST ASKING:)

  • @MrStarchild100 don't hold your breath ....the people who decide who gets in can't really get into good stuff like this ....to them this is glorified noise......

  • So much beauty and soul in this track. Awesome...

  • The Players, EWF, Commodores top 3 70s r an b groups.

  • One word ppl MASTERPIECE~!!

  • Big ups to living in Newark NJ

going to picnics @ Weequahic Park..driving over to Hillside to see my girlfriend

That was HEAVEN to me !!

  • Great Quality Audio...I feel like they are REALLY whispering in my ear in the intro :o)

  • Ja Rule - Down Ass Bitch

  • listen how clever the lyrics are relating about bumble bees and honey your bee hive is full of bees I wish you had a place for me and the music is killing and what voices they could do it all lost in today's music

  • Glad I grew up in DAYTON in the 70s god it was funky we got to get back to real music. everybody scream OHIO OHIO

  • Known for their 'sexy' album covers back in the day. Oh yes, O H I O !!

  • I L0ve old school

  • I hope I'm not too white for this.

  • @DoctorPencilK Actually Doc....the fact that u like this song is proof u have very good taste.....(not a black or white thing)

  • REAL MUSICIANS, ONE OF THE BEST SOLO SAX PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIMES

  • This song delivers a small glimpse of just how magical life was back in the mid 70's compared to now. So many memories, good and bad, are locked up in the music.

  • I was born in 1960 in Hamilton, OH. Lets go with genius instead of lucky. As far as whats up with these OP haters, I have Noooooo idea!

  • Yes, I was smokin alot back then, smoke some much it took me 14 years to get through college. When I say "Genius", I mean anytime you can cut an album in 9 days and have it go platinum, you have to admit either you where lucky or a genius during that time and space.

Where you born during the OP trifecta?

  • Ridiculous? 17 Top 40 hits in a 5 year period speaks 4 itself !!! How many top 40 hits do u have?

  • @dutty1able What 's up with these haters on the OP?

  • @dutty1able What's up these OP haters?

  • One word: CLASSIC!!

  • This Band Was Out of Sight! I had no idea I knew so many of their songs. They delivered us so many classics.

  • The woman on the cover was gorgeous I wanted my hair like hers lol!!

  • While my friends where into the Ojays and the stylistics, I was into the Players because I played drums in high school. Its was just something different about their music which sounded unique with the strings, horns, bass and guitar. After watching Unsung featuring the Players I now understand the attraction, "Collectively they where musical geniuses".

  • @eyeremeber they were very good, but musical genuises? Give me some of what you're smokin'. That's ridiculous.

  • the sax solo tight!

  • boss ass music right here

  • This is timeless music here folks.

  • Loved the Ohio Players, had this album back in the day and had to

hide it so my parents would not see it. Remembered staring at it as the model was so so perfect and no body hair which was amazing in the 70's

  • @Greta916 I hope that your dreams will finally come true. You can have hair like that too. Peace.

  • I too watched unsung, having lived thru it with them, it was very sad, They had it all!

  • Real music !!!! Real Talent!!!

  • Ohio Players were an awesome band..a little raunchy and to me they exploit women with the album covers not cool...but other than that,,they were fabulous musicians a little different than EWF of course but very good..

  • KUSH anyone, Sweet and sticky. No seeds, no sticks.

  • @milesdevlon really?

  • High school

  • The Ohio Player's album covers were as close to porn as we could get in the day.I'm from Columbus,Ohio !!!!!

  • I remember looking through my uncle's albums as a child and seeing the Ohio Players with the different ladies. Wow! I need to get those albums. They are collector's items in today's age of MP3s and IPODs. I miss the 70s.

  • diamond on the drums on all the ohio players song he was the best

  • @thecleat61: diamond was killin it! Esp on I wanna b free!!! A friend of mine said when he gets divorced he's gonna learn how to play that intro!

  • Drop this classic in and your girl already know what time it is!!!!!!! This shit is so damn funky!!!!!

  • Drop this classic in and your girl already know what time it is!!!!!!!

  • sexsay! lol

  • I vaguely recall the album cover. To a 4 year old me and my 6 year old cousin, it was damn near porn! (seems like I recall it opened all the way to reveal the lady's full "sticky" body LOL!) I remember me and my cousin would take opportunities to sneak looks at the album cover and although no one specifically told us we couldn't look, I still recall the strange mixture of shame, curiosity, and fascination that the album cover invoked in me...

  • best mix of jazz and funk ever!

  • This track is one of the smoothest, funkiest cuts ever. It doesn't get any funkier than this. The sax and bass solo simply flows rhythmically. TVONE recently put together a good documentary on the Ohio Players. Check it out if you can.

  • @SeeMeFlow I saw the documentary on the Ohio Players, and was good. SUGARFOOT was truly old school from day one, especially with Heaven Must Be Like This, my favorite!

  • I watched the Unsung program on them yesterday and highly enjoyed it. It was kinda sad how they ended up.

  • @dancinonasmoothedge I know they had it going on but you know with alot of the groups of many years ago. someone gets greedy and it mess up for everyone.

  • @dancinonasmoothedge I watch it also and it was sad to know that one of their group members put them all in the hole. I think that is what breaks alot of groups up either "money or "drugs".

  • @dancinonasmoothedge SAW THE SAME PROGRAM. YOU CAN REALLY SEE WHAT THE BROTHAS HAD. THIS WAS A TRUE BAND OF MUSICIANS . THIS MUSIC WILL CONTINUE TO LAST BECAUSE IT REAL.

  • @dancinonasmoothedge you know I was thinkin the same thing, very sad! But still oldies and goodies.

  • I love this song.

  • Tune! Makes me want to smoke weed or be with a lady!

  • @pepdogg holla,no tact ass havin, where have all da players gone.i know i raised one of mine right.

  • I remember riding on my skate board across the Bay bridge listening DJ Bob White spin this on KDIA, back in the day headed to the Monterey Jazz Festival. "Da da da daa aah. Da da da daa aah Sweet, sweet sticky thing"

  • it's a coincidence that u ask the Q; where is she..when i was just looking at my friends from that cover..the Brothers Smith,,who were the models w. her, sadly one of them past years ago..Edward & Mitchell Smith..Bronx was there Home..the woman ,yes she was a beautiful sista for sure...Ohio Players were the Joint back n the days..Miss them ..where r u fellas and yes where is she,,lol...Create..

  • Classic...

  • i have nt heard this for a long long time

  • Yeah I remember those posters, Woooow those days were hot like fire.

  • Man, sweet stickey thing was the shot, I was like sixteen back then and it was mesmerizing. You can daydream all night long. Sw33ter than hon3ny

  • I Swear these guy are Awesome!!!

  • Their album covers were always very simple and effective. A female model doing something suggestively sexual, the album title, and the group's name. That's all. And it worked. Looking at this cover, I wonder who was the model and where is she now. I'm sure she's somebody's grandmother now. I think the 1970s was the first decade to start showing that black people are beautiful. Black is beautiful.

  • Makes My Heart sing !!!

  • The Ohio Players had some of the tighest Album Covers ever put out and yes you could unfold them and reveal a poster.

  • This music was and still is the bomb!!!!!!! and all of their album covers were good too ;-)

  • Ohhh how we 50 somethings took our musical geniuses for granted....look what kind of @#%%** we have here in the early 21st century.....first goes the culture, then total collapse....just ask the Romans.....

  • @navet1953 You couldn't have said it better. While I expected that musical styles and tastes would change over the years, I never invisioned a time when music did not involve singers or musicians. Now all you need is a DJ and mic. Pathetic.

  • Nah, it ain't that simple. Wish it was, but it ain't.

  • @navet1953 ... Man, I dunno whether that's nonchalant cynicism or cynical nonchalance, but either way I like your style.

  • @navet1953 well it's your generations "musical geniuses" that are running the show TODAY. plus, if you don't want to listen to our @#%%** then don't listen to it. It's funny though because you're generation probably knows about half of what a modern day sampler knows. We know good music. And we know bad music. But it's nothing to get all huffy puffy about.

  • @TheTapeExam You're absolutely right we dont have to listen to todays crap and we dont. Thank GOD for the internet, satellite radio, and old school radio so we can hear some REAL music. Why dont you go "sample" American Idol and watch some of your generations important people like Snooki!

  • @dutty1able Thank MY Generation, because we invented all that shit. And you must be 50 something because you seem to be closer to going senile and ignorant every second. You 50 somethings are just stuck in the past. And we don't like to "sample" our own music because were too busy pissing you older people off by "sampling" your important people.

  • @TheTapeExam Post something that makes sense

  • @dutty1able Check your eyesight pops

  • @TheTapeExam if you tried to sample from "your generation" you'd have nothing to sample.

  • @fr33th3t The Roots, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Anthony Hamilton, Ledisi, Raphael Saadiq, D'Angelo, Joss Stone, Maxwell, Governor, and Suck It. (that last one wasn't an artist, it was an idea). That's just the top of my head gramps. Stop being such a damned prune eating, diaper wearing, ignorant old man and realize that the artists of today could go head to head (or even surpass) the old school.

They have just as good lyrics, melodies, production/instrumentation as the ancestors.

    Have a nice day :P

  • @navet1953 Et Tu Brute?

  • @navet1953 Amen, everybody had a band complete with horns, us young folks used listen to jazz, funk, gospel, blues.

  • I absolutely love this song. Never saw the album cover before. It's pretty creative, goes well with the song

  • @MJRookieRook u should see the whole thing inside and out. ;-)

  • Nice

  • The Players hit #33 in Billboard, 10-25-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • "SweetStickyThing"~オハイオ・プレイヤーズ のメロウチューンだが、演奏はジャジーにタイト!~ジャケ買いしてもハズレ無し! #jazzm

  • They were col on wax but i did'ent dig them in concert .......Sound like two different bands.
