The Japanese version of the game doesn't have the Red Blood option. None of them do over there,they only have Green Blood (even in the Arcade versions).

Also wow...why didn't Sega bother to just make a good port of this game for the Saturn? This just looks horrendous with all of the low-res textures.

I remember the Day i bought HOTD 2 the Japanese version back in 1999. I was in Chinatown in NYC, the guy told me if i beat the game and all its minigames i would unlock the original HOTD. I soon figured that he lied being as though i beat the game and HOTD never showed. I don't mind i enjoyed playing it.

That said, I would LOVE it if an arcade perfect (or better than arcade perfect, like with the improved graphics shown in the HOTD2 intro) of HOTD was released to the home market. It pisses me off anymore that good games only get released on the consoles, even when the PC is more than capable of doing an arcade perfect port these days. Thankfully, the HOTD series has been good about that (but the PC version of HOTD1 could stand some improvement)!

That's just a silly rumor, based on wishful thinking, Crash95, sorry. House of the Dead 2's intro includes a nice, graphically upgraded "recap" movie of what happened in House of the Dead 1, and that apparently got some people speculating. No evidence has ever surfaced to substantiate a rumor that first HOTD game is included with HOTD2. No combo pack of the two games has yet been released either that I know of.
