How To Fix A Broken Xbox 360 dvd disc Drive

Okay my disc drive for my Xbox 360 is loose, it'll pop out a little bit but won't come out all the way. Is there a way to fix that? My brother got a DVD of mine out for me, he had to use a screw driver to get it out and well the Red ring showed up. It was the only way we knew how to get it out. I fixed the red ring problem by unplugging it for a few minutes, but now the disc drive is loose and won't open properly... any tips on how to fix it?

my xbox 360 slim is flashed with lt + 2.0 and the only game it can read is gears of war 3, the iso downloaded works perfectly as confirmed from many EU players so its the damn flash that went wrong.

it could be that your laser is broken or dusty. you could go to an electronic store like sears and look in the disk game sections or movie sections and you should find a disk that says somethin like "cleaning kit" or "laser repair kit" or whatever it should just be a disk inside that you put into the disk drive and it automatically begins cleaning it. if you dont hear your regular disks spinning inside your xbox than you may need to buy a new drive

Okay so this is good and all but you neglect to mention the fact that some drives don't have 4 scusi cables. Mine are soldered into place and I can't actually remove the board. Also, I know what's wrong exactly with my drive and I'm using a friends spare. Will this still work?

@KeviiNWichi you cannot do that because the Logic Board (Which he calls the "Chip") is "married" to the console. Only the original Logic Board can be used with the Xbox.

@coolcool137 i dont know i tried that and the games will not read you need to flash your drive untill it has the same data as the other disc drive so ya look up jungle flasher and fash it and it should read games.Because you cant just swap it out and play games is because your xbox360 has and the type of drive you have have the same data numbers.So you flash your New drive using jungle flasher so your new drive has the same numbers as your xbox360 drive

get a paper clip and find a hole 2 the right of the tray and push down it sould pop out but when you close it it mite get stuck agian if not dont bother reading eny more

if it gets jammed again get a vacume cleaner and go round all the vents with the cleaner and it should be fine it wont get jammed

if that dont work ur xobox is proberly fucked

if your xbox wont play the disc keep tapping the xbox while its layed down until it plays your disc open and keep closing and tapping ur xbox it will wrk trust me i do it all the time :)
