  • lol, people will believe anything

  • Cut this stone into 10 slices and each man would be able to balance their slice on one finger. It's logical and simply shows us how stupid groups of people and how easy it is the control their minds by hogwash like this.

  • @AAAjohn123 untrue unless you're super human and can balance 20 pounds on one finger. whats so hard to believe that things can happen that don't have to be logical. pay attention to the story, not the so much on the stone anyway. you're missing the point entirely. whats going on here is acoustic levitation.

  • @citystreetsoundz not acoustic, many people are familiar with "party levitation", its about gravity and human influence on it. here they touch the stone with the finger, charging a field, and in "party levitation" they put hands above persons head charging a field...

  • LoL

  • its 18.18 ponds per finer. do the math. nothing "spiritual".

  • @ALVACHY 18 puonds = 8 Kilogram U just try to lift more tha 2 kg of stone on urs pinky finger it is not possibel hence it is spritual.

  • @ashishsawawnt26 take a look at this video and use your brain!!---> /watch?v=_5ny5sDRh6E

  • Hi architectus777 - have tried lifting a human and it works! It's fun too!

  • It has to do with physics. You can also lift a human this way as well.

  • No offense taken. Just had to point out India's richness - literary, artistic, spiritual. Grew up in India although I now live in Canada. It's necessary to look beneath the surface in an EXCEEDINGLY complex society. The caste system in rural India will take a long time to eradicate (if ever!); Gandhiji tried his best to accomplish this. Osho is very slick, funny, irreverent and readable, but doesn't offer any NEW insights that aren't core philosophical concepts in Buddhism and Vedanta.

  • I do not dispute levitation but as a stonemason myself that stone is not 200lb more like 120-130 tops. You can see the skinny teenager lift it easily off the ground. 11 men can easily lift this. No mystery as far as Im concerned.

  • Nice

  • A truly outstanding demonstration of the principles of physics. Nothing mysterious or mystical about it at all. It's a thoroughly un-mysterious lifting (not levitating) of a silly old stone that can be done anywhere, anytime.

  • TaoPiet: India is neither sad nor backward! It's a vibrant country that has everything going for it - including some brilliant people who, thank you very much, spend their time in highly productive ways in every field imaginable - agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, technology, science, commerce and the arts . Not to mention spiritual disciplines.

  • @TaoPiet

    You're so ignorant.

India's history is incredibly rich, even before the Chineese's came along. So many incredible things have come out of India. and i'm not even form there. Yeh there are gulible people, but what would you know about spirituality? You seem like a western robot made to work for the capitalist machine.

What a waste of a perfectly good life.

  • @TaoPiet doing what? Watching youtube videos? pfft. internet

  • This video certainly does ROCK!

  • Individual attempts to lift this rock do not succeed due to its geometry. It cancels out the muscle power of lower back locking leverage against the ground.

However, a SMART way to lift it would require 2 people. One to crouch on the ground, one to roll the rock into his lap using stick for leverage. Problem solved.

While "UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD" PRINCIPLE does NOT INCLUDE WOMEN OR EDUCATION & requires 9-11 MEN, the "SMART" PRINCIPLE requires ONLY 2 PEOPLE and CAN INCLUDE EDUCATED WOMEN!!

    :-))

  • This is true

  • Booooooooooooring...

  • 8 men lifting a stone...yes..really "miraculous"...not.

  • THAT WAS A BLACK MAGIC......

  • ниочем

  • This is pure stupid..why not get someone really strong and make him do it..he will lift it

  • light as a feather, stiff as a board!

  • I was kinda looking for magic. Thanks anyway.

  • дерьмо какое

  • This is like the "light as a feather" thing.

  • hey... i think thats a stone! :O

    im a genius am i? : /

  • This is bullshit

  • there is no magic in this. It is only matter of correct combination of efforts synchronization and physical concentration.

When I was student we did the same thing with our mate lying on the floor. 8 men lifted 9-th using only our pointing fingers.

  • @crist2000a no concentration! Try it yourself!

  • Levitation must mean something completely different for Muslims than for the rest of us :)

  • them indians really do have a huge imagination... they come up with all these stories, and legends and mythical characters... hahhah, it's funny.

  • No it is not fake. I have been there to see.

  • check out the 70 contradictions in the quran and Islams connection to the Catholic church.

  • seriously, i was expecting a stone that flies, not this lame joke... and b4 someone tries preaching to me, I'm a Muslim - and this video is BS.

  • I love this simple engineering ingenuity. The rock just about reaches to the knee and is very narrow and smooth making effective body leverage as well as sustaining a grip nearly impossible for a single individual.

I do understand the philosophy behind the message and I do agree with it, however, calling it "a levitating" rock and implying that it "mysteriously levitates" is not a very honest strategy of attracting the viewer... :-(

  • is true. l read a book (secrets of Atlantida, Andrew Tomas, printed 1971), in this book l read about shivapur, then l go google... eureka ... l find this

  • I think this is more about teamwork than trying to deceive people. Like santa's reindeer lifting the sleigh, only less commercialized. I mean really, does it matter whether or not people believe in 8 tiny reindeer? What's wrong with lifting a finger and doing some actual work? I don't know, I'm just saying...

  • One thing is for sure, India Is Full Of Idiots, And Bull Shit..

  • This is clearly a fake. There is no evidence in this video about levitation. Why did not the speaker declares what is the truth.

  • i went to this place! was on holiday from uni so took a trip to india and heard about this place .. haddd to go!! i went there, tried picking it up myself and managed to lift it upto my waist :/ lol .. saw some group lifting it with 1 finger and i was like :O .. hadd to try it myself and it reeli did work! you've gota say the guy's name without breaking your breath or sumthin .. i dont really believe in supernatural things but when i saw this, i couldnt stop wtf-ing LOOLLL ..

  • OH SHUT UP WITH THE MORALS !

its plain and simple, trick the bunch of fools into donating their life savings to the temple so that the priests can enjoy a rich life behind the scene.

  • I hope to god levitating isn't taken seriously as 11 men are lifting a stone, even if it is with one finger

  • i wouldnt exactly call it levitating,,and i think with that many men it should be possible to lift, as stated below it only 22 pounds uach, which is a little over 10 kilo any reasonably active guy should be able to do a quick lift like that,,

  • this is neither levitation nor mystery...lol

  • yea maan...the grand finale was totally different to the usual lift...i didnt expect that...personally i think the last dude who joins looks a sus to me...im thinkin he swaped the stone for a fake polysyrene one he had stashed away under is turban...oldest trick in the book...tis called the "gypsy slip"......

  • The stone weights 70kg, 70/11= 6.4kg hardly a heavy weight for a grown man.

The stone is not levitating , it is being lifted, and when it reaches a point where the men cannot support it, it falls. If you went all the way to Shivapur just to be taken in by a silly trick like this, you have more money than sense.

  • @wordavee isnt that what we all want and work for....i mean if u were bill gates look me in the eye and tell me u wouldnt get onto ur private jet and fly there and get there by morning just to see it

  • Geezis, it must have something to do with creating harmonic resonance between heart and matter

    18.18181818

  • This is an valid levitation technique

Doing the math - Each person's finger is lifting 18.181818 pounds or 8.2471339kgs

To put it into perspective that is the equivilant of lifiting your airport carry on luggage over your head with one finger.

Shifting the stone is about an act of unity of energy that goes beyond belief systems.

This is true "mind over matter."

  • seriously, just grow up... coz if at all its proven possible, there`s a million dollars waiting from the uri geller thing.. lol.

  • the gift of strength is always counquered..by the gift of unity... one can not lift but so much, but united you can lift worlds. gage bridges.

  • wow... now THIS is what youtube is all about!

A bunch of indians hurling a rock in the air.

    Favourited, 5/5.

    Awesome.

  • lol

  • HAHAHAHAHA... 5+ / 5 on your comment..hahahaha...

  • if you gave them a pocket television, would they just stare at it in amazement and worship it?

This trick can be done with people as well. You can feel how 'light' a person is when lifted by many people. This is just so dumb and inspires awe in morons.

  • what people dont seem to understand, and are so quick to decide upon whether or not something "magical" is going on here is the story behind this, it is not neccissarily the levitating stone which is supposed to draw the most attention but the lesson that goes with it, the strong do not always win. Have some optimism, dont be so quick to shun what you dont understand

  • You are right on the button! It's the underlying meaning of universal brotherhood and stone is a metaphor to demonstrate that mere physical strength isn't as powerful as humanitarian kindness to all human beings. Thank you for being so perceptive!

  • no offense to these guys kulumanthony,

but how is that rock a metaphor?

If it's a metaphor of obvious logic then yeah, I get it

  • mega lame

  • rediculous....

  • ahhhhah are you kidding... these guys just lift up a stone?? People actually come to visit this?? Omg ... indians will take that tourist money any way they can, if anyone believes something magical is happening in the video is fking retarded, merry christmas.

  • you should see all the crazy shit like this in Mexico, where apparently jesus and his mom "appear" all the time in many forms across numerous tourist spots.

  • 2 Quick links for those who believe this can only be done with this stone

enjoy the miracle of the suggestive human mind and basic physics working together ;-)

    /watch?v=fZUAwD-KeAk

2 people using 4 fingers (total) to lift one person (i'd say about 140lbs...way better than this stone..)

    /watch?v=WCkPmwexrng&feature=related

4 people lift a 192lbs man with 8 fingers (so that's significantly better than this stone lifting :-)

    watch?v=aoC7UTFAuxY

total of 8 fingers to lift a 350Lbs man !

  • De people seriously believe this?...really, basic physics (and some psychology)

This is like the famous walking on hot coals, things like these are a lot more easy than people think

You can do this with any object with similar weight and enough people

And 9 or 10 or 11 is definitely enough!: notice this is not more than 100lbs, the light build teenager lifted this ALONE and by the way he does that and the way it falls , it is for sure not heavier than 1,5 or 2 tv's

    A little shouting helps :)

  • Just like when you are concentrating and cheering yourself and others up for, well ANY task, like pushing over a crashed car.

That is about 2000lbs with only 5 or 6 people...

So 100lbs (and I suspect it's less) with lets say 10 people is 10lbs per person

I tried lifting a whole tv with 1 finger and did that easily...try it yourself (getting one side off the ground as high as possible, it's easy)

Hypnotists do this with one heavy guy in a chair and people also just using their fingers..cmon

  • .. I went here 2 years ago and knew nothing about the miracle when I was visiting the shrine .. I offered my prayers and heard men shouting outside .. When I saw the men lifting it with their index finger I was like :| :O .. had to try it myself and I did! all 11 people have to say "qamar ali durvesh" and keep their breath intact .. even if 1 person stops, the stone will fall .. its amazing and weirddd too!!! lol ..

  • resistance6 - 22 lbs with ONE index finger each.

  • @kulumanthony Sorry, that is not entirely correct, they are not using ONLY their finger to lift it, they would still be using their main arms, they are simply using their fingers as the platform to lift the stone.

Believe me, I was hopeful, however, this is not Magic, Anti-Gravity, or anything supernatural about it.

  • 200/11≈18 lbs.

  • 200 / 9 = 22 Lbs. Do you think each of these men are capable of lifting 22 Lbs?

  • Wow.....this is like the worst magic trick in the world.....its not even a trick......If you had never heard of the legend you would watch this video and say "hey look, 11 guys just got together and threw a heavy rock into the air....." I saw nothing even slightly mysterious about this.....in fact I was supprised that many men could not throw it up higher LOL!! So the moral is a few kids or a single teen cannot life a heavy rock. Get a bunch of grown men to work together & they can throw it

  • The only thing this video did was disprove this "paranormal feat". All it is is 11 guys lifting a rock and dropping it, the rock falls at a normal rate of descent. Just goes to show if you build hype around something, people will believe it.

  • it is tru i was there i lifted the stone

  • And with you too.

Thank you for your tolerance towards all faiths - it's a precious gift in a world torn apart by fundamentalism and anger.

  • According to legend, the stone cannot be moved more than two feet off the ground unless you chant the saint's name as one of the conditions. Type "The levitating stone of Shivapur" in Google, and on one of the links there, which is an article by Margaret Deefholts, describes the legend in full. I am not Sufi or Muslim, but I think this legend is true.

  • All I see is 11 men lifting up a stone. Interesting video, but how would anyone come to the conclusion that its levitating? Seems like a perfectly reasonable feat for 11 men to pick up a medium sized rock....

  • You know, it looks to me like 11 men were lifting up a rock.... not even a very big rock. In what way do 11 men require the help from the supernatural to accomplish such a reasonable feat? Interesting video, but I don't understand how anyone would think that rock was levitating?

  • this must be fake, i dont believe stones can fly so easily, maybe its attached to some rope we can see.

  • Seriously? It's only a 200lb. stone. A modest weight to clean & jerk.

  • ive never seen anything about this in Islam... and im muslim
