Cut this stone into 10 slices and each man would be able to balance their slice on one finger. It's logical and simply shows us how stupid groups of people and how easy it is the control their minds by hogwash like this.
@AAAjohn123 untrue unless you're super human and can balance 20 pounds on one finger. whats so hard to believe that things can happen that don't have to be logical. pay attention to the story, not the so much on the stone anyway. you're missing the point entirely. whats going on here is acoustic levitation.
@citystreetsoundz not acoustic, many people are familiar with "party levitation", its about gravity and human influence on it. here they touch the stone with the finger, charging a field, and in "party levitation" they put hands above persons head charging a field...
No offense taken. Just had to point out India's richness - literary, artistic, spiritual. Grew up in India although I now live in Canada. The caste system in rural India will take a long time to eradicate (if ever!); Gandhiji tried his best to accomplish this. Osho is very slick, funny, irreverent and readable, but doesn't offer any NEW insights that aren't core philosophical concepts in Buddhism and Vedanta.
I do not dispute levitation but as a stonemason myself that stone is not 200lb more like 120-130 tops. You can see the skinny teenager lift it easily off the ground. 11 men can easily lift this. No mystery as far as Im concerned.
A truly outstanding demonstration of the principles of physics. Nothing mysterious or mystical about it at all. It's a thoroughly un-mysterious lifting (not levitating) of a silly old stone that can be done anywhere, anytime.
TaoPiet: India is neither sad nor backward! Individual attempts to lift this rock do not succeed due to its geometry. It cancels out the muscle power of lower back locking leverage against the ground.
However, a SMART way to lift it would require 2 people. One to crouch on the ground, one to roll the rock into his lap using stick for leverage. Problem solved.
While "UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD" PRINCIPLE does NOT INCLUDE WOMEN OR EDUCATION & requires 9-11 MEN, the "SMART" PRINCIPLE requires ONLY 2 PEOPLE and CAN INCLUDE EDUCATED WOMEN!!
I love this simple engineering ingenuity. The rock just about reaches to the knee and is very narrow and smooth making effective body leverage as well as sustaining a grip nearly impossible for a single individual.
I do understand the philosophy behind the message and I do agree with it, however, calling it "a levitating" rock and implying that it "mysteriously levitates" is not a very honest strategy of attracting the viewer... :-(
