  • This song is awesome! (even though general MacArthur was a lunatic for wanting to nuke manchuria hehe)

  • 720p great sound and quality and a long version rocks. 1978 had some of the best music and you could buy a Camaro Z/28 for $8,000 or less brand new.

  • FANTASTIC ...

  • I should have danced to this in the 70s. Hell I should have been 18 then.

  • EPIC!

  • thank you for this. sound quality is beautiful.

  • Yes Donna Summer ranked up there with the BEST of the Disco singers..

In my opinion this was THE MOST PHENOMINAL song !!!

Brings My old days in the discotecs...

    5 Stars !

  • lo mas grande que ha tenido la musica Disco, indiscutiblemente Donna, GBY dear Queen!!! rdgs from PTY!!!!

  • Donna Summer.... No one ever did it better......

  • Pure talent....When music was music

  • Genial...simplemente genial...me trae recuerdos de mis dias de vacaciones en San Pedro Sula Honduras ...cuando era estudiante en USA....

  • Wow! Brilliant reproduction. Have the original vinyl. But nice to see/hear it on Youtube.

  • wow, this is truly legit.

I see you made your edit just after the 9 minute mark. have you tested to see if youtube will let you put up the complete version?

  • i always love this great song , great memory .

  • ESA SI ERA MUSICA QUE BUENOS RECUERDOS DONNA SUMMER ERA LO MAXIMO ES ESA EPOCA, COMO OLVIDAR. TECNICA 48 ORIZABA, VERACRUZ GRUPO 1B VESP GENERACION 1977-1980

  • @anije1000 Somos misma generación, diferentes lugares y escenarios, pero riquísimos recuerdos con estos temas y la Gran Señora de las Discos.

  • Casi incompleto está, si dura creo 17:45 todo este mix

  • @IVANOFVOCHITO88 Yes, the mix has been edited due to time constraints. YouTube imposes a 15 minute limit on most uploads. This is why the title caption in the video states "Edited for YouTube".

ENG to ESP translation by Babel Fish:

Sí, la mezcla ha sido corregido debido a los apremios del tiempo. YouTube impone un límite de quince minutos ante la mayoría de las cargas por teletratamiento. Esta es la razón por la cual el subtítulo de título en el vídeo lee el " Corregido para YouTube".

  • Thanks Slay'D! You are the BEST!

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • This was the first dance music album I bought and she was all the rage when I first started clubbing years before I started djing. Mac Arthur park was the big big club cut then! Donna Summer is still great! The voice in person is even better..I v managed to see her twice over the years!

  • grrr....a technics sl-1200 mk....wonderful. remebering my dj-times. vinyl was great and donna is still one of my heroes

  • hey donna if u are there in nthe air can u sing one of my song eheheh please!!!!

  • When you go and hear Donna Summer in concert, she sounds exactly the same if not better than this recording. I gained new respect for her talent when I heard her sing live.

  • Back in the days when this was recorded, you had 2 choices if you wanted to listen to recorded music, records or reel to reel, with the latter of the two being the best quality.

  • One of the loveliest pieces of music produced in the late 20th century.

  • @stat3man In total agreement with you

  • The best voice ever...

  • BRAVO, HOW WE MISS GOOD MUSIC!!!

  • This is one the greatest things ever.

  • the record spinning says alot to me, go on then............ class x

  • Lovin' One Of Kind!!~~YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!......

  • "And my passion flow like rivers through the sky"

    love this!

    Thanks.

Is One of a Kind slightly edited though? Seems a tad better, actually, in its brevity if so.

  • I still have this record that I bought when I was 11 yrs old =-)

  • i was mad on donna summer and disco music! this brings back lots of memories, this song is right up there with lots of others, thanx for posting.

  • i like to give best endeavor to slayd5000 for presenting this album! thanks!

  • who would of known that from a god awful song a Disco Dance Classic for the ages would of emerged. I was born in 1979 so I couldn't really enjoy this music until I was old enough to appreciate it. This song is a classic work of art. I love the regular 45" version of this song but then I bought the Live and More LP and discovered the FULL 15 some minutes version of it there and feel in love with it all over again! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN :)

  • Many thanks for posting this long version! Great song, great voice, great times!

  • Thank you for adding this. It's one of my all time favourites and back when I must have played it a million times. :-)

  • Whoaaaaaaaaaah! I've searched for a long time through this site!!!

I love this performance, Donna's voice, powerful. The instrumental and mixed with disco music, made it a song special.

No matter >15mins duration. Thank you for open the memories' box!! =)

  • Donna is truely the Queen of 70's disco. what a incredible song. thanks for this version.

  • My favorite song of Donna! Forever ♥

  • well I have to agree with you, about closing my eyes, when I hear this song. Of all the music of the late 70's for some reason, this song makes me stop--think, remember a time, when my life was much simpler. As most of my music-loving-friends of the late 70's have died from Aids----in just under 15 minutes, I can be with them again, enjoying this song & AND REMEMBERING THEM

  • WELL, ALL I CAN SAY IS I THINK MACCARTHUR PARK WAS LADY D'S ABSOLUTE BEST RECORDING OF ALL TIME

  • @alexannndr1 I agree. Me and my friends just went crazy on the dance floor to Maccarthurs Park. Know one could touch her back then

  • KEEP VINYL ALIVE.

  • Good memory. Hugh Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. :X:X:X:X

  • sick

  • The instrumenal composition is amazing, and it brings back great memories, but what in the world is she talking about? I will never know. Sounds so sad. Someone left the cake out in the rain after she worked so hard on it. And she will never have that recipe again. I have always had mixed feelings about this song, but today... it gets the final gavel: Negative Song. But that score!!!!!!

  • @2441883 it's about a relationship ending and how things will never be the same.

  • soggy sponge cake left in da rain, I ain't making it again coz it so long to bake it! I'll never have that recipe again LOLOL XD

  • I forgot that "Heaven Knows" was part of this suite. (featuring Brooklyn Dreams)

  • This might sound nerdy but I find it quite comforting playing a vinyl record than I do a CD. There is a 'natural' sounding warmth that you don't get from CDs. The record player is a machine with wires and such but you place the needle to the record and it fills the room with warmth. Can I get a witness?

  • @adelgado And I thought it was just me thinking that. :-)

  • @adelgado75 "preach it!

  • @adelgado75 This is not a secret to audiophiles! Nor is the fact that amplifiers/receivers with vacuum tubes sound "warmer" than solid state devices. Lesson learned: New technology doesn't necessarily mean "better" technology.

  • Nice Song...Thanks for posting...Also, nice turntable...I still have my Technics direct drive unit from the early 80's.

  • Thanks for this share. Nevertheless, it's not the original "suite" version, but it's a very good one. I like it !

  • @elagate

Who was the origional? 1st. I heard it was from a english actor back in the 80's name: harrison?

  • @importantisimo1

Oh! forgot to thank U for the great sound.

  • I can recall walking to school in the early mornings of 1978 singing this classic tune as a kid. I can close my eyes & i'm back to being a kid, miss those days growing up in n.y.. This jam brings tears too my eyes, so romantic yet very uplifting. Wish life was as simple as it was back in the day. Todays artist cant stand on the same stage as a legend like D.S.. Thanks for the post & helping me go down that path of memory lane :):) KEEP EM COMIN Slayd5K!
