@benefitgirl19 Why? Many other cultures have harvest festivals and "thanksgiving"s. We Americans didn't invent celebrating good fortune and family. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years all over the world. Canada's is in October because their harvest season is earlier. In India, it's called Pongal and it's in January. In Korea its called Chuseok and is in the 8th lunar month. It's awesome that everyone gives thanks with their family.

It's basically when the pilgrims who came over from England made nice with the Native Americans, and the Native Americans taught them to hunt turkey and they all had a feast. It's a giant feast with food like mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey, cranberries, etc. Everyone gives thanks and spends time with their family. Besides the 4th of July it is the mainly "true" American holiday.

You can add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to your broken blushers and eyeshadows and press them out in their trays again. When the alcohol evaporates the makeup is as good as new.

@breakfastinnewyork hey. I know I'm not Ingrid but I too lost my dad at the age of 17 very suddenly.

It honestly depends on her character. I am a pretty up front person, so I always called&said when I was upset/sad. But it's nice to get a call from time to time. Get her out of the house for a couple of hours do sth that will distract her and show her that life goes on. It also depends on whether or not her dad was sick or died suddenly. Hope this helped a little bit

Someone gave me a gift card to a nice restaurant and several people brought over some food. When you lose someone close, there's no time to cook or clean because you're so busy, so little things like that are SO appreciated. Be there for her, whether it's to talk or not talk. Keep her busy and help her out at school. You are a good friend.
