  • I didn't know this was on YouTube. I wanted to tune the upper hand, but being at 7000' elevation in Flagstaff, you never know how it will sound out of the box, plus my McCann seems to be that way sometimes. If you liked this video, check out my channel! Thanks all for the comments!!!!

  • Not easy pieces to play, I love Andy Renwick's Ferret and Crossing the Minch. The high hand was flat though. As PaulOWindsor says squeeze the reed a bit, if you squeeze nearer the staple it'll sharpen up the high hand.

  • if you seat the reed deeper in the chanter it will sharpen teh top hand and flatten teh lower hand

  • It will not flatten the lower hand. It will probably sharpen the top hand more but the lower hand will also sharpen slightly.

  • P.S. not to say that wouldn't have helped, it would but low A would also have sharpened and he'd have to have tuned his drones higer.

  • excellent fingering

your chanter is a bit out but they are bagpipes, and are tempemental at best

    great burl

When the Pipe comes in tune after the reed get a little moistre, it sounds great!!!!!

    Very well played Laddie!!!!

    Great Piper!!!!

    Best regards from germany

  • Try holding the upper 1/3rd of the chanter reed blades together for 30sec before you start playing...it will sound lots better !!!
