I'm only 17 and Suggs has always been my idol since I was little, thanks to my dad. I'm so glad Madness got back together otherwise I'd have never seen them perform last November. This is the best band going, a million times better than half the crap out there nowadays! :)

Being 15 at the time, I remember this first appearance of Madness.Regarding the top of the pops audience apparent indifference, strange how when new & brilliant things come along as they did regularly in those days, people are almost incapable of appreciating it until it's either gone or drifted into caricature. Mind you I'd rather have that than the fake, imbecilic whipped up frenzy that passes for audience reaction today.

The Beat were the best band of this lot. I Always thought the bloke in the pork pie was the luckiest bloke in the world. He wasn't even a great dancer and always looked a tad sinister. Good tune though.
