I read a book years ago, written by a guy who set out attempting to disprove the bible. He failed, Time and time again, he found that the bible was true and every attempt he made to disprove it, came to nothing. He became convicted of sin and became a christian. The bible was written by men, but totally inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Not always. ;-) The ancient traditions know exactly what happens when we die und how reincarnation and karma "works". This wisdom has been there for thousands of years or more. Someone who had a near death experience can describe how it felt, but it cannot be explained in which phases death happens, which sort of karma will influence your reincarnation etc... This wisdom belongs to most of the native traditions.

To me there is some truth in the bible, and some falsities, such as stoning your wife to death if she's unfaithful and the cruel list goes on and on. I think some of the teachings in the bible should be taken with a grain of salt.

I read a book years ago, written by a guy who set out attempting to disprove the bible. He failed, Time and time again, he found that the bible was true and every attempt he made to disprove it, came to nothing. He became convicted of sin and became a christian. The bible was written by men, but totally inspired by the Holy Spirit.

I have read, or should I say, I have tried to read some of Chopra's books, but I found them so painfully dry, boring and just plain shitty.
How can he talk about so many fascinating subjects in such an uninteresting way? His droning, toneless voice doesn't help any either. I am speechless how famous he has become. Did I miss something?
Stuart Wilde, on the other hand, is extremely interesting and inspiring. Such a contrast to Chop-Chop.

... yes, Stuie Wilde is a good read. Lots of interesting stuff from him. My favourite book by Stuart WIlde is "Miracles." It is a very small black book (about 40 pages) and very helpful, uplifting. Check it out when you get a chance. I am sure you'll like it. It is like no other book I've ever read. No fluff, no flowery writing, it is right to the point. Chopra is crap on the other hand.

Someone who had a near death experience can describe how it felt, but it cannot be explained in which phases death happens, which sort of karma will influence your reincarnation etc... How in any way is he a fraud? Most if not all of what he says makes sense even on a scientific level. Think about human functionality, we eat, sleep excrete etc. energy. We are nothing but mechanisms of energy. All he's simply stating is that our fleshy existences are merely vessels, and that in the broad scope of things, our physical existence doesn't exist because we're merely a projection of universal consciousness. Our existence is simply the reflection in the window.
