  • I want to see you do this while driving

  • I hate you!

  • fucking ganksta

  • Damn, the guy in the car. How much for THAT.

  • that is clean..

  • GoonBahs...in action

  • watch when they blow a fuse

  • I love the sol, but the electric roof is just TOO heavy!

  • @Elbarto1277 I guess you could add more power then.. also if you think about it I could balance out a littler on weight since most of it is in the front.. well thats what I think

  • i bet that added a bunch of weight ...

  • DUDE THATS COOL HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY TO HAVE IT ELECTRIC.. THANX

  • @duk5tube1 They come standard electric.

  • @privatealpha hahahha... real honda fan :) stop talking bullshit. manual or electric, depend of year and country where they sell. i got manual :)

  • lol technical difficulties

  • Cool gadget , but probably costs a kings randsom to fix when it goes south on you.

  • nice ^^ but sounds like mcdonalds ;)

  • lol tentacle difficulty

but that looks cool tho hope u put in a roll cage

  • @mike081283 technical* difficulty, not tentacle lol

  • Jelousy indeed!!!! How is that stupid rasta whatever??? And what do you drive by the way???

Good point crxdelsolsir i had my del sol since 2003 and my car never gave me trouble! Just suspension brakes oils and a censor here and there ;) the normal stuff that you can fix in 40 minutes

  • Lucky fucker hahahahaha!!! That is bad ass i wish i had this

  • @KONXIONRONG no its not badass and its pretty stupid

  • Words of jelousy

  • you can get an aftermarket kit to convert a transtop del sol to a normal manual roof. I'm not sure how good it is tho

  • damnnnnnn that must add a lotta weight to this light weight car

  • @Vince3k That's my first thought. It's still pretty sweet, though.

  • If you guys can see.... The car is a right hand drive import. This Transtop is stock in Asia and Europe for the Vtec models. But once that motor for the top dies, getting it replaced is a bitch and expensive! And once the motor for the trunk goes... It's gonna be really expensive! You have to place a special order to Honda Japan to see if they have any motors instock. If not, they will have to remake one since this car is discontinued! It happened to me and it sucks!!

  • But the EDM Del Sol with the transtop is rare to find. But they are out there. But the JDM sol is easy to find. But they r a bitch to replace. My neighbor had both motors built and sent to him and he spent a total 8,000 cos he had it made, import, boarder searched it for drugs, then processed, then shipped to him. He said if u want one get one, but its a bitch!

  • who gives a shit if its expensive .. any car can break down and be expensive to fix. any of you guyz want this car just come to Japan. Theres still plenty here.

  • im gettin me red del sol today! and it aint got this trunk....o well

  • @luvdoggystyle you know any links for parts in Japan? I'm still looking for some parts for my car. Thanks man!

  • But realistically thats after nearly 15-18 years. If you had this car since new and only broke down once after 20 years and only needed a motor replaced that is Brilliant!

Better than other convertibles that break after only 3-6 yrs of ownership with heaps of sensors, servos, motors for each moving part, computers and hydraulic problems.

  • @crxdelsolsir true with that! but i'm still looking for parts for my car! it's a bitch to find any where i live! and some of my sensors are already dead and need replacement!

  • If the car was not officially offered in your area when it was new you will not find support - even from Honda

Better trying direct from areas where these are local and normally offered parts and save frustrations. Meaning you need to import them or drive to a nearby country that has them eg. Canada or Brazil - besides 2000 miles is nothing to a Honda, make a holiday of it also!

Be patient & do the research. Only thing is your on your own in labour & knowledge but then theres the NET

  • The car was officially offered in my area 16 years ago... there's only less than 10 left in my country and the North American spec's are different from the Japan spec's as i have some parts that don't fit! Trust me! Even the bumper is a different size from the North American one! I have to look for it in Japan but been searching the net and can't seem to find the right website since everything is in Japanese. Thats the frustrating part!

  • Don't go Japan, go to a english speaking country where it was offered. Like UK, Ireland, Australia, NZealand etc.

I know the best place is the land where it was built but there is alternatives. Ebay has JDM bumpers too, from Malaysia etc.

There are heaps of ways think out of the box.

  • All else fails then you can go aftermarket parts eg. fibreglass bumpers that look original.

Externally it may be difficult to replace but you will find the parts. Just takes longer.

Hope you keep it as mechanically its ez to repair since it shares heaps of parts with Civics that are abundant in the world.

Besides ones its in tip top condition Honda doesnt break down easily. Plent of life to rival newer or even new cars in my opinion.

  • thanks for the advice! yeah... right now it's the internal parts. mostly electrical sensors that i'm searching for which is already a pain in the butt! i've tried ebay and no such luck except if i want to buy a whole used car from the uk which obviously i don't. if anyone knows of any websites that sell used parts like the wreckers.... please let me know... most appreciated! thanks!

  • waste of money...unless your rich as hell...

    i would've built my motor...

  • Cheap as chips really since it shares Civic components that are abundant with aftermarket supplies too!

The unique external parts which is not shared with the Civic are a little dearer but not really in comparison to other cars . It is after all a Honda (premier japanese brand) not a Kia, Hyundai, Proton, Daewoo, or even a Toyota.

  • NOT available in the US of A, RARE as shit in the UK and plenty around in Japan. You can actually fit that option to your U.S. DelSol WITH some modifications of course. Providing you can FIND the TransTop system at some Japanese junk yard or something.

  • is there is no way u can install one of this.. this car is a del sol vti european version... so we americans got rip off

  • and its very popular in the JDM, damn once again has America gotten screwed out of something that is really tight to have!!

  • Damn that $hit is fly that is how it is done...how much did that cost
