Mark Forest is without any doubt the most handsome man to ever star in Italian movies and his given title before going to Italy was the "adonis with the perfect physique."
MARK FOREST was referred to as THE ADONIS WITH THE PERFECT PHYSIQUE before going to italy to star in 12 adventure films. He was a fantastic actor and "not just a pretty face"
no way jose...................it's one of his best adventure films although some think TERROR OF ROME AGAINST THE SON OF HERCULES has the best action of his 12 films...
rubbish yourself.....it's as exciting an adventure film as any kickass james bond movie or science fiction film with monstors, or a martial arts film or a western.....
thanks for your apologies....it IS an incredible adventure film -- there is a huge cast of armies in this film and thousands of italians turned out whenever they heard that mark forest was doing a film somewhere -- such was his animal magnetism with the crowds. there is a tradition of MACISTE strongman films in italian cinema ...it seems we are always fascinated with strength and with men who have special strength so t hese films catered to that idea.
What a wierd concept, to put Hercules, from Greek mythology, against the Mongols! Odd disjoint here! The script writer was probably doing acid! The sequel was probably 'the Three Stooges against the Mongols'!!!
give the guy a little slack eh? He doesn't want to be Maciste or son of Samson or Poseidon or Goliath in every films that he does . He was a versatile actor except that looking so perfect meant that he couldn't do character roles....he went on to be an opera singer after his 12 films. instead of doing westerns, james bond films, etc etc.
@Scarabaeus1 Italian peplum filmmakers loved to mix up history and mythology from different cultures and periods. There was a movie called "Hercules, Samson and Ulysses," and there was "Atlas Against the Czar"! The Italian muscleman hero Maciste was often renamed Samson, Atlas, or some other name more familiar to Americans in the English-dubbed versions.
Im watching this movie tonight!

Looks like they used footage from the Anita Ekberg/Jack Palance flick, "The Mongols". It was a much bigger budget movie also made in Italy.
