For those of you questioning why he says point it right at the goalie, he's actually right- just worded it kind of awkward. The puck is riding off of your blade, so to help guide it you want to make sure you finnish your stride pointing at where you want the puck to go (hopefully past the goalie and not at him).

Just because he has a windup does mean it isn't a snap shot. By giving an extra foot to hit the puck you create more flex which gives the puck more speed. A slap shot would be taking the toe of the stick way up and hitting the puck in the same fashion as a snap shot, but it takes longer to do a slap shot than a snap shot.

The windup legnth he is using is about right for a wristshot --- a snap shot should have a much shorter windup. Although, the modified type of shot he is using here is great if you are newer at the game and you haven't developed the ability to generate power with a short windup, because it takes some practice to shoot a regular snap shot. (You can see my hockey videos like some are demanding here, but they are HS highlights, not lessons) 8^0 It's the best game on earth!
