For those nice Models you really want to keep in perfect condition, I returned to 72 Mega-Hertz FM Modulation Super Narrow Band using Castle Creations BERG DSP Technology and have had ZERO issues as no one else remains on this band because all the SMART ones went to Spectrum Technology ;) HA!!!!!
@guapoman2000 LOL. At my field, only one or two other people including myself remain on 72 mhz. Everyone else went to 2.4 So I beg the question....Doesn't that make the 72 frequencies that much more safe since nobody is using it? I fly on 72 and have had zero issues myself *knock on wood*
well I stand corrected that is a problem, good for you man glad you got your stuff replaced, There is always going to be bad stuff out there JR, Futaba, Hitec what ever. The difference is how the company handles the problem. See if anyone other than Horizon would replace your stuff. I use all different brands and have delt with all of there customer service and Horizon is the only one that will stand behind there stuff. Way behind (LOL)
fuck horizon i had a buddy with a bad ar5000 and he trashed a plane so they looked at it and gave him store credit to buy a new plane but when i trashed a plane because of a bad ar5000 they wouldn't replace anything but the ar5000. FUCK HORIZON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@dictaham I totally agree, but we are the minority. Only 10% use futaba and rest use spektrum/jr equipment. Ask any futaba owner how many times he has to bind...Once!!! Ask any jr/spkektrum this question....dozens and they keep their bind plug handy in their tool boxes. I fly rcheli's and they are a natural static generator(belt drive tails), and causes a lot of problems with the cheaper spektrum rx's. Futaba? I never had a problem. Trex 500 w/2176flts.
@billyd44444 Congrats Billy on getting your Spitfire replaced. I'm surprised that Horizon was willing to go that far. Do you typically fly your warbirds without the cowl? I was told that this may not be a good idea because of an interuption with airflow or something to that effect. So Horizon said the DX7 is definitely malfunctioning?
Man just bad luck. I have never had problems with the system. In your case just bad luck. Put it all on ebay, change to a different brand that works for you and keep flying. No need to loose sleep. Summers almost over....
GOD PLEASE DONT!!!!! What is happening is that your not binded right. You need to bind it correctly. The light on the reciever and transmitter means it searching for something to bind with. When your flying its not binded therefore you have a lock out when someone else turns on their radio. Bind it correctly with a homemade foamy that you dont care if you crash it. Also on the plane it might not be getting signal through all that wood its trying to recieve a signal through causing it to not work
That light on the back should never blink like that. there head tech even told me that. it's on it's way back to Spektrum now. check back for more updates on this..
WTF,and they sent it back saying it was ok,thats not even funny man,a couple of good r/c planes down and we can see the problem but they won't admit it shame on them,i hope you get some sort of satisfaction out of them in the end man i really do,i can see myself going over to another brand (futaba) if i keep seeing stuff like this on the tube and the forums.5*
Damn, if it's this messed up, you should request a replacement or something. I know you're frustrated man, but it is a bit of an eye saw to see text in all caps.
Billy that is so sad. Your down at least two nice planes, Spektrum says the DX7 is fine and you show it acting all wonky. I'd send them the link to this video and ask them if they still think it is OK. Better yet ask then to fly their favorite plane with your Tx.
