Great video, but I think their confusing BUDs with SEALs Qualification Training (SQT) SQT last about 2 months and is done after BUDs. Mainly comsisting of Cold weather training and Airbourne school, San Clemente Island is done during 3rd phase of BUDs, which is the CQC and land warfare stage, not SQT. Total training last 7.5 to 8 months to get the trident, not over year. Only Air Force SOF and Army Special Forces (Green Berets) training last over a year.
@kasem1065 2 months boot camp, 1 to 2 months BUD/s prep school, 1 to 2 months BUD/s indoc, 6 months BUD/s, 3 weeks basic parachuting, 4 to 6 months at SQT, then they recieve there trident, then they get advanced training in individual fields like corpman, sniper and all that, which can take up to 6 months, then they're assigned to a team where they have 12 to 18 months of platoon training.
3:05 ... outrageous amount of ammo... they have C20's in charge now, no live fire exercises, no leading from the front, a lot of bureocracy... When mr Dick Marcincko was in charge of Seal team six they used to shoot more rounds in a year than the whole marine core and there was about 100 people there then...now at that time Seal team 6 were Absofrigginloutly the best shooters in the whole friggin world...

@danwk7 The Army runs and controls the training on several schools that you are offered during SEAL training. Medical (18D), sniper and SOTIC, Airborne, etc. This man represents the cross branch effort. SOCOM is a big family.

Remember, any member nation of NATO can send qualified operators to BUDs. There have also been civilian operators from Camp Perry and other government "organizations" who have been sent. All who are sent must pass all qualifying tests before being allowed to attempt BUDs.
I think the Army Officer is part of JSOC. So he was there along with Navy Officers to present the SEALs their trident badges. It is all under one house now.
I thought that seemed weird too. The only thing I can think of is that there are a few SF guys who have passed BUDS. Perhaps this was one of them? I'm sure there is a good reason why the SEAL community would allow a soldier to present such a distinguished honor to its guys.
No, The army guy is one of the commander's of a special operations command, probably JSOC. I believe the leader of SOCOM(our main command) is a former Navy SEAL. But the Army commander you seen here most likely use to be a SF operator and is one of the high ranks in one of our spec ops commands. Excellent video.

I agree with AgentSpiral,if he was a private or colonel I could kind of see why he might have panicked.But as a Lieutenant honestly he should had been well prepared for a situation like this.Their supposed to give you anti ambush equipment for recon missions,like smoke grenades and air support should be on standby.Afterall in Afgan,insurgents are everywhere and the SEALs of all people shouldn't be getting anbushed.But hey it's not really their fault whoever prepared their equipment is at fault.

The situation they were in didn't allow for " smoke granades" or any of your silly theories. If you research the event you'd see why. They couldn't" hightail" it outta there for various reasons, mostly due to the enviroment they were in. And there was a crew on stand by, but they were shot down by an rpg. 8+ SEALs died. Anyway I suggest you research the event before posting your stupidity. It's easy to analyze, when you are confortably behind your computer.

@danwk7 The Army runs and controls the training on several schools that you are offered during SEAL training. Medical (18D), sniper and SOTIC, Airborne, etc. This man represents the cross branch effort. SOCOM is a big family.

They do not have men who haven't gone through the training pin insignias for the completion of the training.

Remember, any member nation of NATO can send qualified operators to BUDs. There have also been civilian operators from Camp Perry and other government "organizations" who have been sent. All who are sent must pass all qualifying tests before being allowed to attempt BUDs.

I think the Army Officer is part of JSOC. So he was there along with Navy Officers to present the SEALs their trident badges. It is all under one house now.

I thought that seemed weird too. The only thing I can think of is that there are a few SF guys who have passed BUDS. Perhaps this was one of them? I'm sure there is a good reason why the SEAL community would allow a soldier to present such a distinguished honor to its guys.

No, The army guy is one of the commander's of a special operations command, probably JSOC. I believe the leader of SOCOM(our main command) is a former Navy SEAL. But the Army commander you seen here most likely use to be a SF operator and is one of the high ranks in one of our spec ops commands. Excellent video.

Because they fight for people freedom and rights. If we had no SPECOPS (S.E.A.L.s, Army Special Forces, Rangers, Force Recon) to do what regular infantry or battalion can't do then we may as well let Iran or North Korea take over.
