  • @phizer yeah, some stiffer springs should keep it from transferring too much weight to the back and keep the tires as neutral as possible. sucks that fwd's have that problem. the s2k doesn't, lol.

  • no one is saying hondas are made for 1/4, i built mine to be made for tracks, its an accord with stiff suspension and just some basic engine mods and is by no means fast it runs a 14 or high 13 but has amazing handling

  • Didn't see anyone point this out yet ...

    Standard wheel size for the new Fit has narrower tires than the old Fit, and much narrower than the RSX/Si. K20 engines have a tendency to spin tires in 1st/2nd at 7000+ RPM (happens to me with the MXM4 all seasons in the wet). You probably already have new wheels with wider tires, but if not - try it.

  • Put some DRAG RADIALS and the problems solved you wont regret it.

    The FIT has a high center of gravity, and a narrow wheelbase. Good for efficiency, not good for racing.

    They get the majority of their sales from middle class suburban high school kids with economical cars... so they market to them.

  • spoon wasn't the only one. kraftworks superchargers and skunk2 got together and made a l15a supercharged fit that just destroys at the track. video is on youtube.

  • This is not true. You obviously have learned nothing from the spoon fit. The spoon fit was embarrassing cars in the technical twisty sections which made more than 3x as much horsepower and had way more invested in suspension work. The J's racing fit has been equally as impressive as well.

  • Yeah, it had 3x as much horsepower because they had no budget limit, and they had to restructure the entire suspension.

    If you put enough money in any car, you can make it a different car.

  • The spoon fit used a stock L15A. The front suspension used the same OEM configuraiton (coilovers ofcourse). Let's forget about the spoon fit. The J's racing fit, car was kicking ass with only off the shelf coilovers and intake/exhaust/headers. I think it was even using the stock brakes. The newer J's racing GD3 fit was using a K20 stroked up to 2.4L however.

  • It's far from stock, it's built to the teeth, like everything Spoon does. There's only one vid of J's in a time trial, and there's no times for comparison to any of the other contenders.

    I'm not going to say it's completely hopeless, Honda is a great company, but there are FAR better cars to put money into.

    I know the Fit is light. but dang. if that's LSD and still losing that much traction, that's insane. I've only seen this much loss of traction in turbo'd VTEC hondas.

  • @chitalia17 try messing around with the gear ratios, maybe wide ratio ones, reduces wheelspin a bit

  • Damn, they probably were thinking about making a K series option, but they wanted to have a more fuel efficient family car. (Like 27mpg isnt good enough from the K20.)

  • u can't be selling fits k20 engines for 18k... its about 16k just for a Fit Sport and its a expensive engine and it'll kill the market for civic si's.
