This wonderful show has been one of my favorites. I love families that are closed like the Williams and Osmond brothers. How proud their parents probably were seeing their children working together. They are role models of how families must be--always close.
@amjj82 Both sets of parents were on Andy's Christmas shows, too. Of course, Andy's parents were actively involved, but the Osmond Bros. parents can be seen in the big family scenes on several of the shows.
This is great. We watched the PBS special on the best of Andy Williams Christmas specials last night (it was a fund-raiser) and this was on it. Such a good show! (I wrote a blog about it on my homepage, link in profile if you want to check!)
It doesn't depress me to watch these old clips, but I do miss Andy's Christmas shows. I have some of the Christmas show highlights on DVD, and I still love watching them. I really wish all the Christmas shows would be released in a box set, unedited. They were hugely popular in the '60s and early '70s.
@Boldstrummer because deep down inside you wish christmas was still like this and you know it most likely won't be this innocent ever again. i know, because i get depressed sometimes too.
@calif562 Yeah, made me laugh. Back in the mid 1960s " gay" meant "happy". Too bad the homosexuals hijacked that word, and gave it the new meaning........
That particular phrase in this song actually dates back to the 1940s, I think. This arrangement was written by Kay Thompson, who had a very popular nightclub act with the Williams Brothers in the late '40s and early '50s.

I especially like Kay Thompson's arrangement of Jingle Bells for Andy Williams.

@JMichael65 The Brothers performed Kay Thompson's arrangement of Jingle Bells on several of the Christmas shows.

Boy, did Donny have a big cranium! Is Andy Williams dead? So, Hoopedy Doo and Dickery Dock!

Jon Cryer, as Alan Harper, would fit in perfectly here.

Who knew Andy had singing brothers--who were willing to dress like that, too??!

Stunning arrangement and execution. This type of singing is far harder than they make it look.

Nine flawless voices.....magnificent! If this doesn't get you in the mood for Christmas nothing will.

Thank you, thank you! Lost my beat up VHS tape (made during a PBS fund drive) when I moved last year. Not Christmas without Andy and the boys! "-)

There is no Christmas on TV anymore. These were wonderful days replaced by filth, hatred and reality shows.
