Skyfishing: Cheap Aerial Shots with a GoPro HERO

I was thinking of something like this, but with a twist. A sort of failsafe if you will, attaching a small parachute to the camera itself, then attaching the fishing line directly to the camera. With a good snap you could break the camera loose and allow it to free fall via parachute to the earth still attached to your fishing line.

With a well placed pulley or two, and an awning or something to hide under, you could very easily have a shot where your camera comes down to eventually focus on your subject, while the person with the fishing pole is off camera. Awesome.

wow, awesome! the shots turned out pretty cool, but i imagine that it would be impossible to shoot something from a specific angle, as it just seemed to float where it wanted...
