In response to Carlgottie's statement they are very few sci-fi/horror films where ethnicities, Asians, Spanish etc, are placed in substantial leading roles where they're not killed in the first five minutes. The only few titles like Matrik, Blade, off the top of my head have really shook that sterotype. Look at Transformers the movie--even Jazz the "ethnic" transformer got killed in the end!
Although I'm enjoying the series (though they could be a whee bit longer)I gotta say come on guys-at 1:23 it's like a scene out of "Scary Movie" the cast stares at the Afican American guy who strangely volunteers to go search for a electric eatin', employee killin' machine--wtih only a walkie -talkie. Talk about creating an expendable character-it's a tad bit sterotypical sci-fi to me.

That was nasty...but in an entertainingly cinematic way. The old "one at a time" routine clearly isn't going to work with a creature that fast. They should all pick an exit and run for it. At least one or two should make it. That's what I'd do.
I think the best strategy is to find ways to distract the creature so that the guy with duty can perform his work with less danger. To save as many lives as possible is the best chance to send everyone home safely.
In the words of Weaver (spelling?), they're just "a bunch of pansies."
I don't know if waiting it out would be an acceptable solution. Someone's bound to realize they're missing, and someone would inspect. I ssuppose the monster would get to them well before that though.
