Nasty! Pissing in the bushes is one thing, but taking a shit is just nasty! Someone needs to go up and give them a repeated tazing while they are in the act.
I've got nothing against people having a good time--looked like a blast--but honestly, B2B has been poorly handled. Us po' folks who have to work weekends and use MUNI had to wait forever on B2B day to get on a train that might not be packed. The N was packed both ways ALL DAY; my poor boyfriend had to walk all the way from our place in the Inner Sunset to Van Ness & Geary because all trains, buses and even cabs were full. Any event in this city makes it harder for us normals to function. :(
The police checkpoint mentioned here was a block past the first water station, slowing down all the drunks and giving the crowd a fine opportunity trash the place.
This would have been fine with the volunteers had we known it was coming! As it stands, dozens of young "virgin volunteers" now associate bay-to-breakers with the smell of vodka-vomit; do you think they'll volunteer next year?
When the left lend-a-hand doesn't know what the right heavy-hand is doing, odds are chaos will ensue.

People are just going to get drunk before showing up or get wasted on LSD if they can't drink during B2B.

My employers really wanted me to work the Bay to Breakers, (see 00:13 for one of my colleagues standing by helplessly) .
It might have been fun, but damn does that job not pay very much! Too busy with my finals this whole week anyway.
