  • Boogie Mosson is handling bass chores on this particular performance. Bootsy performs on the studio version.

Do you think these nice fellows would be able to break a hundred dollar bill?

Let me roll fown the window and ask one of these nice young kids over there.

Wait, over there, let me ask the short one who is holding that huge radio next to his head if he knows how to get to Yankee Stadium.

The seventies were great werent they?

    Need I say more...

  • @cgord37 ssssmokinnnn

  • I hope someone responds to this. Musicians, get back to the funk. Aint nothing like it.What they are playing now on the radio can't touch the funk. Just as an example, starting at 3:48 on this video, i would build it up so high, then let the lead guitar take it. I mean a strong lead.WOW!

  • haha I guess they invented house music too!

  • so much soul..........

  • I thought sir nose would never dance?! P funk forever!!

  • funk at its finest!

  • my city, houston,is so damn fonkay!

  • i always thouht of it more like

    kakakooka than gaggagoogah

  • I use this hook "Ga ga goo gah" in some of my concerts. I do gospel go-go/R&B..and when we hit Ga Ga Goo Gah...people ae like ummmm...OK..I'm feelin dat. It's just another way of scatting...like jazz singers used to do. George is really working this ..

  • @ioxxd90 scatting?

  • The song was written by George, Bernie and Bootsy. Bootsy came up with the bass line and Bernie plays the hell out of the synthesizer on the original track. George came up with the lyrics. Most of the more commercial hits were penned by the trio of Bootsy, Bernie and George. Bootsy and Garry point out what a genius George is at coming up with lyrics. Stop hating on George. Dawn, Jeanette and Lynn are all fine on this video. RIP Glen Goins and Sting Ray Davis.

  • I am in love with Lynne Mabry.

  • george clinton

thats another way of saying epic

  • Watch homegirl shrug her shoulders at 5:04...awesomeness

  • George gettin off own his own shit!

    Trippin like a mug...

  • this video editing is flawless I like the way you used a backward video edit to finish this

  • oh my god this is classic (same groove) too funky even for george at 4:00

  • This is a great clip! George gettin' off on his own shit. Nothin but the funk!!!

  • LAWD! I feel "lifted" already! My pops lives for this stuff! Can't wait to show him this clip.

  • I Love Dawn.......

  • gagagoogaaa gagagoogaaa gagagoogagaaaaaaa !

  • @WorkaroundStudio yaya googa!!

  • Me too! First year at Howard University....left the concert sweaty, exhausted and fulfilled!

  • I wuz There when the mothership landed Dec. 31

    1977 in Landover MD.

    The Undisco Kidd

  • Whos is the Bride singing? I wonder why their contributions are always overlooked? She sweetened the funk!

  • Lynn Mabry and Dawn Sylva

  • Classic performance! Bootsy orginally played bass on this song!

  • Wrong...Bootsy is on bass and had already been apart of P-Funk two album's prior to the release of Mothership Connection which this song is from.

  • @FordG I don't think Bootsy was on these tours as he was on the road with his own band most of the time by then, and he doesn't slap like that anyway. They had plenty of help on bass and those other dudes are no slouches.

  • @overdhump Bootsy was on this original jam...check out the original version of it on THE MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION album...it starts off with nothing but horny horns and a FUNKY ass BOUNCY BASS line from none other than BOOTZILLA!!!

  • Bootsy wrote this.

  • sorry my friend, but this is actually bootsies track, and george asked to put this on the mothership connection album,as well as flashlight also bootsy rubberband track.

  • actually bootsy did not like the song flshlight so he gave it to george to put it on the funkentelechy vs. the placebo syndrome album....little did he know it would hit #1.....

  • wuf thats cool

  • My man Glenn fired up his guitar and as George says held that same groove!!!!!Watch the end of Red Hot Mama where Glenn and Michael touch on some'Vital Juices' on guitars
