Trevor Morris certainly does have his own characteristic style of composing. For some reason, this song reminds me of "Dancing in the Rain" from "The Tudors" Soundtrack, which he also composed.
@NewDawnFades608 oh yeah! i haven't thought of comparing them before, but they do have some similar qualities. it's definitely true that Trevor Morris has his own style.. you should listen to "The King Dies" from The Pillars of the Earth and then listen to "Henry & Anne Conceive a Son" from The Tudors; you'll see they're almost the same :|
@Tranc3Luv3r Yup, i noticed that too. Although, listening to The Borgias soundtrack, i was surprised to notice that i didn't think there were any similarities between that and The Pillars or The Tudors. Probably because Trevor Morris added a bit of the Spanish/Italian musical characteristics to The Borgias considering the theme.
@NewDawnFades608 Although at first I thought so too, I've begun to notice a few similarities. Well, maybe not quite similar melodies, but he does use the same type of instrumental methods. Such as how "Rome 1492" in The Borgias was composed with the same method of guitar fingering as the beginning of "Ordained by God/Welcome to Kingsbridge" in PotE, and how "Juan and Sancia Have Sex" in The Borgias uses the same type of instrument as in "Pleasured Distractions" from The Tudors.
0:52 onward is the music that'll play when I hold my son for the first time.
