those kids made better maki rolls than here and the rice wasn't sticky at all you have to wash it like 25 times to get it sticky well so did the sushi chef in my restaurant but still that was horrible. I guess she made maki rolls for the first time

actually what she is creating is not sushi, but a Nori roll. Sushi is with raw fish. Or with yes shrimp is used cooked, but, most real sushi is Raw fish. If you have cooked product, then it is Nori roll. Or what is called in the trade, California Roll.

@yogertlvr Sushi has variety of kind ,sushi always doesn't have to have raw fish or seafood . Even she use cooked seafood, it is called sushi. But sushi always use vinegered rice. Sushi has many deferent shapes, some of them are ; roll, nigiri ,chirashi, press, etc...

It was about a couple days after I had posted this comment, that on the food network, Alton Brown was talking about Sushi, and he too said that Sushi means Vinagered rice. And yes, Sushi has nothing to do with fish. Thanks for helping with this. I based my comment on what I knew at the time; but then again, I am 47 and a cook, and still learning how not to burn water. (wink)

I make sushi all the time @ home. alot of people don't realize that it doesn't have to be raw fish all the time. It can include canned fish, and vegtables like sweet corn. Some Japanese people even add mayonaise to the corn. I know one Japanese lady who likes using canned spam in her sushi. She calls it "salty meat". And I would also like to let people know that regular white vinagar can be used instead of rice vinagar.

I'd actually prefer her pronouncing it the white way, because then otherwise if the tries to pronounce it right then she'd sound phony ^^

It happens a lot when anime voice actors who only speak English try to pronounce Japanese words...it sounds so...blech, at times. But if you're Japanese (and can therefore pronounce the entire word correctly) it won't sound phony on you...Latinos can usually also pronounce Japanese words correctly if they don't have an accent in Spanish...ah well.
