  • People always ask why I disable comments after a few days on my videos. I have found that in the first few days people ask really insightful questions and have lively, intelligent debates with each other. After a few days, the quality of the comments plummets. Just look at the comments here in the last day and you will see what I mean.

  • Why would yoy pay to have boobs??? If ur a guy...

  • Scooby. Quick question. I belong to a gym and want to know if you have any intermediate full body weekly routines for the gym.

Thanks again for the plethora of information from your videos, really appreciate it.

  • Hi scooby,

I am a man and i have big chest full of fats!!

would u plz tell me what should i do to burn my chest fat ( to get smaller chest) plz reply to my question

  • Hey alammar666, you cant target fat removal of chest fat any more than you can target the love handles. What you CAN do is reduce your total bodyfat and when you are lean enough the fat will come off the chest (and love handles). Please remember folks, there is no such thing as spot fat removal!

  • Thank you for all your videos, they are so good and have helped me alot the last half a year!

  • eeeeeeeeeew ahahahaha

  • Hey scooby, your home workout is amazing, i like it..

    Mario from germany

  • Yeah, you are right... look for "Bob Delmonteque" in Internet... awesome! And he's 84!

  • Thanks deuvosguard! I can only hope I look like Bob Delmonteque and Jack LaLane when I'm 84. People like Jack LaLane was decades ahead of his time in his fitness and health ideas, he was preaching health when America was chowing down on cheese, butter, and deep fried chicken.

  • This video is verry useful. thank you for uploading.

  • Hi Scooby. Been following your videos few months back. I find your explainations and demos extremely effective and easy to understand. Thanks for the sharing and wish to see more from you.

  • Hey Scooby,

I was wondering, when you're on a business trip, how do you keep up with your nutrition?

  • Hey tommywho924, excellent question! When I am on the road, I keep my diet strict but veggys are extremely hard to get so I relax my requirement for those. I pack a weeks supply of protein powder in my suitcase and a two days supply of oatmeal. When I arrive, I go to a grocery store asap and buy lots of nonfat canned chili, cereal, and some protein bars. My default meal is a bowl of cereal with water and a scoop of protein powder - high in fiber, low in fat, high in protein.

  • Hi Scooby

I am lifting for strength and was wondering if i should alternate between legs and upperbody excersices? Or should i complete my arms excersices and then do my legs? Or does it matter at all?

  • Hey madmongoose267, if you are truly lifting for strength then you should follow a powerlifting training routine. For powerlifting its best if you work with an experienced coach, too easy to get injured trying to figure the stuff out on your own. My website (and vids) are focused on bodybuilding. In my view, bodybuilding is a safer way to build strength than powerlifting which is why I promote it. I

  • how much years did it take u to get the peks

  • scooby i'd like to ask you a question

but please give it a reply

for cardio i prefer to do it indoor with jump rope

do i have to do jump rope 20 minutes non stop?

because i cant do it that longer

how about i do it 20 times for 1 minute each?

  • Hey kikyatmaja, cardio is all about elevating your heart rate and keeping it in the proper zone for 20 minutes or longer. For more info please see my video titled "Is this good cardio?"

  • yo man i got some of that ped fuel 5000, it really works look at how big my chest is( . ) ( . )

  • Hey scooby im commenting about the nutrition foods video you made i think you should make a video about meals you eat other than just celery because thats about all you said was good to eat.

  • Hey pattonftw,

Check out my video "6-pack abs fast, part 2:Nutrition". In that video I have six nutritious meals you can make in less than 3 minutes. You can also check out my website under "6-pack abs" for the same info.

  • scooby please accept my friend request.

    defiantly a killer workout 5/5

  • I get lots of requests for personalized advice, here's the problem. I have a full time job and a family so the time I can devote to my fitness endevours is limited to 6hrs a week. I try to do as much as I can in that time but answering personal training emails just takes too much time away from my video making. Sorry :(

  • Hey scoob, i was wondering, the workout plans u have from beginners to advanced at yo website, do u update them daily or does those remain?

  • What you are showing here is for bodybuilding right? (since you mentioned chest size)

Is there any way to do power-specialized chest excercises at home? Do you just increase the weight with less reps? 1-3 reps? I can't find any power/strength excercises on youtube :(

  • would it depend on your age? ive started doing incline, decline, flys im only 18 and im getten way bigger than what i was, i started lifting weights in augest.

    thanks,

would it help to do cardio before every workout? I think it helps.

  • Google Jeff Fisher World Peace Forever

Spread the message everywhere and lets take back America and create true peace forever.

  • I must say i have to disagree with you on not seeing visible results for a year. I started doing some of these workouts only a few weeks ago and im already seeing noticeable size increases in my muscles.

  • i completely agree

  • cool but im too lazy to do diz hehehhhhee

  • Sounds like your having sex lol

  • hey scobby, i just wanted to know if you getting to that size is common to bodybuilders who dont use supplements and keep bodybuilding for 20 years or were you lucky to get to that size. i'm asking because many people say that its impossible to get as big as you without steroids and other things like that and i'm wondering whether i should carry on bodybuilding; i dont want to do it if i cant get almost as big as you without cheating(roids)

  • its completely possible. A lot of it depends on genetics, but if you keep on working at it you can defiantly start looking pretty huge. Keeping in mind some people will just be naturally bigger so build according to your body type.

  • alright thanks man, i'll keep at it

  • A surgery cost more that a gym subcription. Sorry for the bad english I have... and good luck!

  • Scooby i did this last week and it felt GOOOOOD. WIll be hitting it again today.

  • I am 47 years old too and you are definitely an inspiration to all of us "old" guys. I have a thin frame but decent muscle tone and want to build more but the one thing that you said in your ab workout video is to take 5 days rest. Do you mean rest period for that muscle group or rest from heavy working of that muscle group. I tend to work abs every workout but have a "heavy" workout on them once a week. Is the once a week heavy workout good enough without the lighter ones the other four days?

  • Your videos are great, Scooby. A lot of good information in them to build some muscle. Awesome!

  • well of corse you also need to workout lol

  • onestepclosetthetrut u need to drink lots of water and sleep alot a day just repeat and you will have a six pack in no time workded for me so gl and im only 14

  • "pec fuel 5000!"

    "GUUUUARRRAAANNNTEEEEED!"

    Comedy at its finest!

  • Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. Yesterday I took 300 push ups and 400 sit ups over the day. Today ofcourse I could feel it really on my body. If I countiniue like that, how long would it take before I get six pack? I can almost gaurantee that my body fat is under 10%. And how long before I get breast mussles? I am 15 years old.

  • pushups don't help you get a 6-pack, sit-ups do but stomach crunches are MUCH better for getting a six-pack. Definitely switch to stomach crunches, not only do they work better but they don't hurt your back like sit-ups do.

If your body fat is as low as you say it is, you won't need 400 a day to get a six-pack - you could get a decent one in 2-3 months doing about 40 a day. If you want a brilliant one though, keep asking around I guess.

  • Hey, I am a moderately short guy, not miget, but im short. I am 18 yrs old, and 5 feet, 7 inches. I came across this website about human growth hormones, and from what i know, it isnt legal to buy these unless you have a prescription, so this HGH is designed to put on 2-4 inches in about 90 days, and it states you wont grow any more than that though. I also read the testimonials, and it seems pretty sound, so is this something that i could consider doing considering side effects?

  • Hey PitchBlackForecast, if it seems to be too good to be true - it is. "Gain 4 inches in 90 days" sounds like a stupid claim from one of MY mock infomercials! First of all, it is not legal to sell human growth hormone so the company selling it is either selling some worthless supplement (most likely case) or is illegally selling real HGH (not likely). 5'7" is a great height and certainly does not warrant a prescription for growth hormone.

  • I am as tall as you are. don't be depressed because of that. if you get to 80 kilos of lean muscle, believe me, you will not look as short as you think you are...:-) cheers.

  • Lets just say I wanted to give up having a six pack, and give up being speed in cardio for strength. Can I eat whatever I want in about 5 meals a day, as long as it has about 25-35g of protein per meal, work out ea body part hard 2x a week, and just walk for about 1 hr a day? Will that get me to be real strong? remember, everyone has different goals, and my goals arent to have a six pack, just to have big biceps, and lots of strenght.

  • cool hat&cool video

  • Shit he sounds like kermit the Frog Hi ho everyone!

  • Scooby, I just gor your site looking for some way to get my abs fat down. GREAT SITE! You just talked me out of buying even a single piece of equipment. I think you are right. These millionare sharks are just trying to make money out of the fat Americans.(I am not American by the way)I went to Hawaii for vacation but have not seen any of those beauty girls and boys with 6pack abs that are on the TV.

Anyways dont mind those bloody comments from the assholes here and keep up the good work.

  • Awesome video

    your the man scoob

  • gayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

i have a natural bodyyyyy hahahaha newbies

  • pretty much anyone who is born has a natural body? what are you getting at?

  • and a question about your video....how different are the dumbell flies with thumbs up then to the side? does it work your chest differently?

  • hey scooby i have a general question about working out and im asking for many people out there because i hear this all the time in the gym. is it true that if you're not sore after a workout then you are not going to gain the muscle? i always hear "no pain, no gain", but is this true? btw im on your weight loss/muscle gain program and i'm seeing results, it's been a few months now. thanks for your awesome inspiration!

  • hello scooby , i cant begin to thank you for the good advice you provide on your very information site ! i have used your site as a number one reference guide, keep up the great work ! i have a question regarding the Quinoa you mention in the Vegetarianism section of your website. My question is this when you cook quinoa doesn't the amino acids in it lose its Biological value and digestibility leading to insufficient amount of protein when consumed ? I couldnt find any research on this..TY

  • your vids are awesome man, i watch faithfully

  • heyy scooby you speaks so sweet and nice.n ur vids n tips r sooo great.thankyou very very much man u r doing great work..waiting for ur new vid.

  • Hey scooby, your videos are great man. I just got a question for you. Lets say I'm benching 185lbs for 7 reps. If I stick to that same weight for 4 sets, would that still make me stronger? I was told that if you want to get stronger you must increase your weights; however, does that mean increase your weights between sets? Or increase weights the next time you work out?

  • You have to increase the number of weights or reps every other week to keep making gains.

Some people like to increase / decrease weight or reps between sets, but that's more like pyramid training and nothing I'd do regularly, as it is usually done with heavy weights and more designed for breaking plateaus.

  • gay

  • in your videos could you explain more so what muscle group each exercise works ie upper pec lower pec /?

  • Hey redneckman454, IMHO people worry too much about what exercise works which exact part of the pec. More important is that you do a well rounded workout and hit all parts of the muscle and give ALL exercises 100% effort. After you have been lifting 5 or 10 years you can start worrying about bringing up your weak parts.

  • okay cool thanks

  • How you bring them up? I mean do you have to work them extra hard or what

  • You do less work on a bodypart that has well developed and more on those that are lacking.

  • i think this video is broken the guy sounds retarded,i dunno?could be him just talking slow from the steroids, his nipples are hard, lmao!

  • Hey would you suggest using creatine? Some of my friends use it and say it works well but I'm not sure if it's just in their head or if it actually does anything.

  • How would I suggest using creatine? I wouldnt! I am very anti-supplement, please see my website under Nutrition>Supplements to see why.

  • When you say that you are anti-supplement are you saying that ur against any type of supplement including whey? Just asking because I have some whey protein. :(

  • Hey badoc10, as I say on my website I make a distinction between protein powders (which I consider food) and supplements. I am strongly against supplements but 100% for protein powders. Having said that, you need to be *very* careful with protein powders. If melamine (a lethal poison) can be put into infant formula to raise the protein level as it was this year, it could also show up in cheap protein powders imported from China and other developing nations.

  • well what do you consider a protein powder and supplements. i mean named brands which ones are protein which ones are supplements

  • Thx for the advice!

    You are very helpful.

    :)

  • your weights are always so shiny LOL.

  • I just ordered some PecFuel 5000 ...

  • if you're shaking while lifting can it mean that your still noob at working out?

  • It basically means that you are taxing the muscles to the max and is not necessarily a sign of being a novice.

If it happens to you all the time, use less weight.

  • Wow dude your huge and you don't even go to a gym or nothing. Respect!

  • "grunting doesnt help, the only few magical words that break your power limit are "yeah buddy" and "weight light baby"! "

You have to do it with a high pitched voice though right? :p

  • grunting doesnt help, the only few magical words that break your power limit are "yeah buddy" and "weight light baby"!

  • 'aint nothing but a peanut'

  • HAHAHA! LIGHTWEIGHT BABY!!

  • I got so much respect for this guy, has shared great knowledge, and I thank you scooby1961, your an inspiration to us all!

    :-)

  • you're the best!!

  • Ahah PecFuel 5000

Thats awesome man do some more of that!

  • Scooby I have reviewed almost all of your videos. I am now ready to begin sir Day one begins today! I am so psyched thank you for the inspiration will keep you posted. You are the best my friend. Adios Amigo que Dios de Bendiga! Eres muy bien con mucha gente.

    Saludos.

  • The problem I have is I dont have access to the nutrition that you say is needed for building muscles/losing weight... I have access to everything needed for working out but the nutritional part of the plan I lack in. Is this really slowing me down or will it be fine? I have access to typical foods in American households today(I'm only 17 with no job I don't have say in what is bought) I can maybe get 2-3 vegetables or so, which would be the most beneficiary to me(high protein, high fiber etc.)

  • It says volumes that vegetables are not considered "typical foods" in a household anymore.

If you want to lose weight and can't get access to enough fruits and vegetables work with what you are fed but strictly control the amounts you eat of those high energy foods. Have a look at the Hacker's Diet for an idea how to do that.

About progress: You need about 1 g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Maybe you can at least get your parents to buy you a Costco protein powder.

  • Pec fuel LOL

  • hey scooby,i need some advice i have been weight training for around 6 to 8 months now and am focusing on mass and have seen results but have some extra weight that is covering my muscles and i want to start cardio but don't know where to start as i have heard if i do cardio it will burn away my muscle can you please give me some cardio exercises that will help me thanks scooby

love all your video's they have helped me so much keep up the good work

  • do steroids.

  • No, cardio does not burn muscle. That is one of the myths I certainly wish would go away.

Muscle is protein and hard to make energy from for the body, who will first use carbohydrates then fat as energy sources - carbohydrates during high intensity, more fat during low intensity stress.

  • Franky, why on earth would he upload a video that "proves" you can lift more weight when you grunt? Just to prove you wrong?

To me it does feel more natural grunt. I find it proves a mental advantage as well, even if I don't grunt at the beginning of a set I will always find myself doing so at the end of one. Keep in mind I train at home so I can make as much noise as I want anyway (h)

I do agree that in a gym you should keep the noise you make as low as possible but some noise is unavoidable

  • Scooby1961 I also wanted to ask you, did you get your physique soley from working out at home? You must have spent may years building your body at the gym right?

  • Hey Scooby I want you to say, that you change my life alot, Im another man now. thx

  • This workout is awesome. A quick question though, have you ever heard of or tried the P90X program, it's really good. I actually created my own little workout, based on Muscle Confusion, but instead of just using workouts I see on P90X, I like to throw in some workouts from others people too, and your videos are definetly the answer to the blank spots in the workout.:D

  • hey scooby, since i started using protein shake, i farted a lot... on train, in elevator, library, school and even with my girlfriend. I cant control it... Is that what i have to pay for gaining muscle? Have you got any advice? thanks a lot

  • You might have IBS. I do and Protein shakes triggered it off for me. :/

Still suffer from it 3 years after so...

  • Whats IBS?

  • google it. But, Most people don't get IBS with protein shakes. Your tummy makes noises right? Well imagine your tummy making those noises all the time, you've got IBS.

  • That is an experience a good number of people go through when starting protein powders.

But after a couple of weeks it should become much less frequent.

  • Then about 30-45 minutes later, I have a large meal with some protein (usually some kind of meat, and sometimes a protein bar too), carbs, (usually pasta or bread), some veggies and some fruit. Am I doing anything wrong? Is there anything else I should add? I would appriciate your input, because the information I am getting now is coming from a variety of internet sources, some of which are contradicting each other, and most of which include supplements as part of the post-workout meal.

  • You need about 1 g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Check Scooby's site under Nutrition for a load of information on the subject.

  • Hi, I was wondering what the best things to eat after a workout are if you want to stimulate quick muscle recovery, without taking any powdered supplements. Right now I have 2 glasses of nonfat milk and a couple hard boiled eggs directly after a workout because I heard that they have easily digested protein.

    (continued in second comment)

  • Wat exactly does the thumbs up flies work vs. the palms up?

  • Hey scooby,

Do you discourage putting banana slices in your oatmeal

  • gayyyyy

  • Comment removed

  • i want to ask you about push-ups, im trying to gain muscle and i dont know this but how much should you do? im doing as many as i possibly can, not 1 more left even if my life depends on it

should i be pushing it so far? i heard that you need to do as many as you can... but more exact..?

  • hey mate

depends on what your trying to achieve

if your trying to gain muscle you should be more concerned about lifting weights vs self weighted movements (push ups, etc. excerises without added weight)

notice how scoobs is doing as many push ups he can do AFTER doing actual weights

doing many push ups will get your body toned, increase your natural strength and lower your body fat

    :) hope i helped

  • well i have no weights at home.. are you saying i will get poor results by working out like this?

  • No, you can gain a good amount of strength through bodyweight exercises, but only up to the point where your body provides enough resistance (weight) to trigger muscle growth.

  • you been great help thank you, can i ask you about cardio now? i am not overweight, should i do it? does it help build muscle?

i have seen scoobs video where he shows the graph with the recommended heart rates but arent those if your burning fat? i would rather build up my heart

  • I'm not Scooby but I'll still give you my opinion. No matter what your condition is, you should ALWAYS have some kind of cardio in your routine. Cardio doesn't necessarily help build muscle, but it keeps the human heart healthy AND strong to help prevent heart attacks or other bad things that can happen. Lifting does affect your heart, but cardio is still the way to go, you don't want to neglect it. It is also a lot less stress on your body to lift heavy weights if you have a strong heart.

  • dirtbikes029 pretty much nailed it: Cardio keeps you healthy. And the stronger your heart, the better the blood flow in your body and the more oxygen gets to your muscles when you work with weights.

For more information on cardio check Scooby's site under Cardio.

  • yes i have read but it dont make it clear about one thing, for me it says my cardio should be 100-170bpm i know this is what it should be when burning fat but thats not the problem, should i also use the same rates for building up the heart? is it better or worse if i push it as far as i can hold out?

  • Yes, the rates should be the same. The only difference is that when you don't want to lose weight through cardio you can eat the amount of energy you burnt while doing it.

And rule of thumb is: Do cardio at a rate where you can still comfortably talk. Pushing yourself beyond 170 is IMHO not healthy.

  • I just did this today. The pump was phenomenal!! Gonna be damn sore tomorrow

  • So what...he grunts when he works out. But he makes up for it with perfect form. He is not even moving that fast so he is not cheating at all. Also...at home you can grunt all you want. I say if grunting works for you then you should do it. Youguys are just jealous of his impressive chest.

  • I'm not jeaous...you right, he's in crazy great shape...but why grunt. It's mostly for effect and getting attention in the gym.

  • You fail at life!

  • Wow you're a smart guy. I want to be like you LAMOTTE....mmmm NO

  • I want a killer chest

  • sry.. but thats just too much muscle...

  • Dude what a bad ass workout! keep up the great work.

  • That's great and all...but the grunting is SOOOO unnecesary

  • it actually helps you wit lift. If you were to scream you would get a 25% boost of strength. Learned from science channel :D

  • Yeah...umm i would have to disagree with you. I've been working out for 15 years, and have seen my strength go through the roof (NATURALLY..no steroids or supplements or even protien shakes for that matter) and I hardly make a noise when i workout. And i've seen guys twice as big as me at my gym, and they too dont grunt like this guy.

  • @ Franky4523; wtf? who cares some people grunt, some people dont, whatever works for the lifter. I find i do it without realising when really pushing, just like when you take a shit...

  • What im saying DBAG,...is that it's unecessary. You dont NEED to do it. MOST guys in the gym grunt for the attention....and i see you're one of those dorks too lol

  • Of course it's not necessary, but I find it an unconscious thing. Yeah actually I must agree that most guys do it for attention..... however you seem very ready to discredit it and type cast everyone who grunts into attention seekers, like you did with me, regardless of the fact i never go to the gym, i work out at home!

  • Well i'm not talking about a little grunting...i'm talking about LOUD GRUNTING and kinda of a MOANING. Kinda like they are saying "oh look at me, this is so heavy and hard...look look!!" Look, when you push heavy weight, your gonna make some noise, but no offense to SCOOBY...but for me, this video is hard to watch because of his grunting. It's almost like i'm embarrassed for him...Although, looking at his physique theres nothing really to be embarrased about. Does that make sense?

  • lol

  • Hey Franky4523, "Grunting is unnecessary?" I disagree. Ask anyone involved in martial arts how important forceful exhalation can be in generating power. By the way, this video (and all my videos) is aimed at people who workout at home. If you can grunt, fart and burp in your home gym then when CAN you? I say get the rudeness out of your system in your home gym and then be polite in public :)

  • Never go to planet fitness then (I know you wont). You actually have to sign a contract that says you cant grunt, drop weights, or do any sort of olympic lifts. Its cheap though thats the only good part about it.

  • You have a good point SCOOBY1961, but make a video that truly shows that you can lift more weight by grunting, vs not grunting. If you want the weight lifted, the power is within, and doesnt need to be vocalized. That's what i've found to be true in my 15 years of working out. I weigh 171 lbs and bench 315. I'm not trying to brag, but i think that's pretty good...and i dont make a peep while working out. That's the only point i'm trying to make.

  • ya look like ya usin steroids!

  • he was doing 100 on each hand pretty strong the most ive done was 85 on each hand

  • hahaha what a pussy guy ... doing fist push ups with a pillow ahahhaa ... dam .. i dont it like nothin .. maybe his skin is so delicated.. but at least gave me some tips .. 17 years wtf .. iit only took me 2 years or less i think ....

  • Good - now you can spend the other fifteen years learning how to use the English language properly.

  • listen son of you mother y dont u shut the F up and mind your own business ... i know u are a hater but dam dogz go hate u own ppl .. bitch ..

  • You said of Scooby 'hahaha what a pussy guy .' and got nine thumbs down for it. Who's the hater? It seems other folk wished you'd minded your own business! You're a 23-year-old who writes like a teenager - definitely NOT 'my own people'!
