  • Nice video, it shows a great variety of performances for a LOT of performers. I didn't know Patrick Aranda played the trombone! Made me laugh :-).

  • @Chris246t8kr FROM a lot of performers.*

  • the "Ain't Misbehavin' Trio" are playing an old tune called the "Crawdad Song".

  • I can't wait, we are going to the Sutter Creek festival next week??? Ragtime rules

  • Yay! I'll be arriving in Sutter Creek probably early Friday afternoon, Aug. 8th.

  • Sutter Creek is a great place abd the icecream place has good stuff. I visited there before!!!!!

  • and i meant lol

  • Well, if you want to visit Sutter Creek again, August 10-12 is when the 2007 edition of the ragtime festival takes place! And yeah, practically the first thing I do when I arrive in Sutter Creek for each year's festival is buy a chocolate milkshake from the Ice Cream Emporium. Yums! Just the thing after three hours on my motorcycle in the summer heat.

  • Also liked the elderly couple with their rendition of Back and White Rag.

  • If you're referring to the Bradshaws in one of the West Coast Ragtime Festival videos, they were playing "A Rag-Time Nightmare" by Tom Turpin.

  • ...or if you're referring to Nan Bostick and Bill Mitchell in this video, they're playing "Dill Pickles Rag" by Charles L. Johnson. It was the first rag to use the three-over-four pattern which was utilized to extremes in Black & White Rag and 12th Street Rag.

  • Simply the best. The lady with the wash board was great.

  • what song was tom brier playing?

  • One of his own compositions -- "Blue Lampshade" I believe.

  • Carl "Sonny Layland is my idol :P

  • Hey, you're the guy who co-wrote "Bowler Hat Rag"! Max just sent it to the Elite Syncopations Live365 show, but the recording was messed up on the final strain. Still, quite a lively piece!

  • i still think max plays it a bit fast :P

  • Love it! Never knew about the festival, and got to Sutter Creek a week later on a visit. Stopped in at the Emporium, and heard an impromptu concert by Steve Price, he was great! Hope to make the Ragtime festival next year.

  • If you're in Northern California, check out the West Coast Ragtime Festival in Sacramento a week before Thanksgiving. In terms of performers, it is the largest ragtime festival in the world. It's less "intimate" than Sutter Creek but still fabulous.
