My Great-Grandmother Incoronata Giammarino died of an intracranial hemorrhagic stroke, but no one would ever know what her symptoms were, because when it occured she had locked herself away in the bedroom to get away from my Great-Grandfather during a fight. She wasn't found until many hours later when it was too late. Her son, my Grandfather Croce Barella, died of an embolic ischemic stroke caused accidently when plaque broke away from an artery during open heart surgery.
can someone help me? im having trouble identifying a strange pain in my head. its coming from the left side of my head. it comes and it goes very quickly and sudden. i can only describe it as a quick flash of pain, its very irritating. it feels like its almost coming from behind my left eye or something.
i had a TIA just a couple months back and it went away on it's own and I never had a stroke, but I've had several TIA's since after chest pains. Is this heart fluttering?
I wish you would discuss for everyone how Stroke & Seizure Are VERY close in relationship and how they are related. My grandaughter's Pediatric Heart Surgeon told us this after her heart surgery in June of 2008 and gave us a medical magazine about it called : "HEART INSIGHT" , It was the May 2008 one!. Alot of people mistake a stroke for a seizure and vise/versa!
I had a headache for 3 days that was driving me crazy, until in the middle of the nigh i felt my whole right side going numb i knew it was some kind of stroke i went to the hospital and it was found i had several minnie strokes this runs in my family and i am 46 years old
@BichGODDESS What happened? Did you have an aura? Was there any bit of difference compared to a migraine? How long did it take for you to get to the hospital? Have you recovered? Did you have numbness, speech difficulties, etc. Has everything come back. Sorry for all the questions.
@eddygor I disagree....My migraines ARE like childbirth....they are horrid..they happen all the time...and I see a neurologist about twice month. It's ruins my life. Plus, the vision loss, numb side of body, speech propblems and confusion scare the crap out of me! I've had migraines sinea I was 2 years old...They have been worse the past 5 years.
@xCmOn3yx777 My neurologist told me I wouldn't know the difference. I lose vision, become weak or numb on one side, I can't speak correctly sometimes and i get confused. Hemiplegic migraines mimick stroke.
