  • i think the G3 live is better !!

  • hot for teacher lolol

  • @MudkipForceG You're not kidding! I heard this this morning for the first time in about 10 years. This is obviously an homage to H.F.T.

  • the boy on the vid whould be so proud seeing this today :D

  • when I grow up, I’m gonna be a famous rock’n roll guitar player !

  • the beginning of this music and the clip reminds of me hot it will be teacher of the van halen.

  • i wish the whole song was 1:51

  • lucky bastard got to keep his guitar at the end. im jelly

  • "we don't want another incident like Mildred" EPIC!

  • lol nice concept. but how many times can a globe explode?

  • I dont care what year it is, his music is still some of the best there is in my opinion

  • I don't really think the song would've been as awesome without the "hag" commentary. This was my dream to do as a kid. Even though I probably got thrown out each time I tried, it's still good that I have an epic song to remind me of it. And you know your teacher would've acted the same if you did manage to pull this off XD

  • God at the end of the video .... That guitar must have started a huge fucking fight.....

  • @Emoidiot187 meh it didn't kill no ones momma like his old boss'

  • I don't think he made a non-dialogue version of the song. The audio from this video is exactly what's on the album, old lady and all.

  • as wrong as it sounds, that little boy looks like this really hot girl who i went to high school with...

  • @The7HellRider7 i know i also thought it was a girl at first. Perhaps not a 'really hot one' though lol

  • omg ahahahahaaa!!! LOVE. IT!!!! :*D

  • THis song is really powerful without video, it looks like it lose energy with images...

  • hot for teacher : van halen :: the audience is listening : steve vai

  • @hameron this video was made in 1991 or 92 his carvins didn't come out till like 2006

  • what is the bass model hes using? ive always wondered

  • @xxcannibalxchristian I think it might be a Charvel Concert bass or a Jackson Concert bass. (thier pretty much the same)

  • Shouldn't that kid be turning up the Carvin, not Marshall? :p

  • @hameron Not in '91 he used Carvins before and again but used Marshall for the P&W era live stuff although used Carvins in the studio.

  • imagine if joe satriani and John petrucci came out of nowwhere and they started to jam

  • @nugeforprez or if little kid versions of them

  • @nugeforprez ill pay for see that

  • Howah Doo gah niin Bergland School... LOL :)

  • that boy looks like a girl..

  • This song would have been so much better without the fucking hag talking all the time

  • @Symbton wurd. anyone know of a no-dialog version of this jam?

  • @Symbton lol, apparently it was the voice of his teacher at school :P

  • @PGm0nkey

    I see I see!

Well it doesn't really matter who it is, still annoying.

  • @Symbton i agree, i just thought it would be interesting.

  • @PGm0nkey

    Ofcourse! Thx for the info

  • I still have this cassette...............

  • @juggermandoo as do i my dad gave it to me before he passed away... i take very good care of it :3

  • well u can hear why david lee roth wanted him...

here he sounds like EVH but a lot more humor!

  • Great clip! Awesome Guy! ;-)

  • I am a keyboardist who HATES most music because it is too simple. WELL...I can NOT touch this man's talent but if I may ask you to humor me....please give BREAK ME a listen on our site.

    Sam

  • The original school of rock.

  • This video is AWESOME.

  • Best Song Ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that kid is frickin amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:51 best footwear ever, cowboy boots should come back into fashion

  • It just occured to me. I think the 14 dislikes were from that afterthought kid band, "The Naked Brothers Band". They must've looked at how awesome this is and realized how stupid they were. XD

  • Two things: Did anyone notice the kid playing drums looks like he knows what he's doing?

    And... 1:37 FTW.

  • At 4:04 is he using an autio Wah?

  • Is this teacher the person who said "He used to cut my grass. He was a very nice boy!" on Joe's Garage?

  • the scenes of steve vai from wich live are they?

  • This song is a inspired by The Mighty Van Halens Hot For Teacher.

    As said by Vai himself.

  • that teacher should "shut up"

  • "Yeah I'm bad and ain't even dead!"

  • This must have been Steve's ode to Hot for Teacher.

  • ahhh shut up! lmao

  • 12 people didnt go to school

  • @NNDMProductions I don't think they aren't listening, because that's not possible when a Vai song's playing, they're just deaf and can't stand it

  • I can definitely hear the EVH influence in this song

  • is that Thomas McRocklin in the Vid?

  • @tdclark69

    Yep, that's him

  • @tdclark69 yeah!

  • @tdclark69 yeah its thomas mcrocklin from bad 4 good

  • @tdclark69 yup

  • @tdclark69 yes it is

  • @tdclark69 Yep he gave up music in 95 because taste had changed and he didn't keep up, apparently now works as an accountant. He plays a guitar solo on a track from 'Chinese Democracy' recorded back in 94.

  • @Djarra I don't know where you got that idea from, but Vai has released 4 albums since 95,. Also, someone who owns the recording and publishing company Favored Nations, performed at some of the most famous lives such as with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and teaches music classes at university level, wouldn't need to ever work as an accountant. Hire them to count all his money, yes, but not work as one.

  • @Tstedner Urm, my comment was about Thomas McRocklin the kid in the video not Steve (in reply to the question "is that Thomas McRocklin?". Steve has done a heck of a lot over the last 15 years, in contrast Thomas vanished after a rant in 1995 apart from a solo on 'Chinese Democracy'

  • @tdclark69 Yes.

  • Just like Crossroads when he dropped his axe and just walked away. "Only steve vai can get away with that"

  • How cool did he look at the end when he threw his guitar into the crowd and didn't look back :) What a legend ! :)

  • 12 people aren't listening...

  • how much you wanna bet steve heard that teacher speech when he was a kid

  • 3:32 - No, he can't hear you. He's playing, damn it! LOL

I'll see you in jail, young man! LOL

  • i wish i was aloud to do this in my school but if i do i will get expelled :(

  • Does anyone know what ever happened to Thomas Mc Rocklin??

  • ok now I understand..........In 1990 Children played guitar all day along and beat up their teachers.....dropped out of high school......And thats how US economy was ruined........

  • @virgoptrex OMG that's not at all how it was. get a damn life dude!!!

  • you guys are talking about technical this and that and equipment and wankfest and saying it has nothing to do with music are reading way too much into it, sure your opinon is valid but come on, aren't you being a little too critical it is just one guy expressing himself, yes maybe a wankfest but, it is just entertainment, unless you have recorded something so much better to share with don't be so critical

  • @abrookes1985 yes i will admit, the general concencus does usually just watch for the chops and not the musicallity, but there are some of us out there who can value musicianship as well as technicality. i can take the satriani and malmsteen argument, because honestly, satriani is unarguably a one trick pony, he writes a good riff, then does a load of legato stuff over it and malmsteen just playes phrygian dominant/harmonic minor runs but there are real composers out there.

  • @theZoftime

hey! satriani's not all about techniques!

    and how...?

    what?

i mean, vai does a lot of technical stuff, and so does satriani, but both of them make a lot of soulful songs too.

i mean, take this song, soulful? no.

    technical? yes.

vai isn't any "better" just because your a fan of HIM instead of satriani.

  • @TommittajaFIN I'm not saying i don't like satch, and i am a huge malmsteen fan, but you can't seriously believe that a satriani solo isn't just legato and a couple of licks, and that malmsteen doesnt just flat out play a scale up and down with some sweeps. I admire them for their dedication and allegience to what they want to do, but the real meat of their tracks is _usually_ just the riffs.

  • @theZoftime

meh... well, i do like legatoing anyways :P

mm.. okay, that usually helps some :D

    but something like

all alone, gnaah (solo just legato), light years away, searching and so on are not just legato.

  • yeah, SV really did shred the fuck out for this amazing album. God(me) bless him.

  • @abrookes1985 okay, no mention by other people of a tune... does that mean there isnt one there? i dont know about you, but i can definately hear different riffs and licks inncorporated here then some soloing. i personally dont consider this as one big solo just because its carried by guitar work. is it the same with barbershop? do a capella performers get accused of "wanky singing"?

  • @abrookes1985 can i pose a fair question to you, and any other people posting "oh thats crap, its the same old stuff... etc, etc." why do you bother? this stuff is't evil, it's not out there to persuade and brainwash the public, it's for people who like a bit of virtuosity in their music. why no try take on some people who are actually damaging the industry? the pop idols and the x factors, the assholes who are only there to capitalise and dumb down music for easy production and consumption?

  • @abrookes1985 id like to see YOU do that. by the way, it doesnt count if your fingers fall off.

  • No offence, but the kid that is immitating Steve looks like a total fucking girl.

    .

  • @metalshredder14 Wow you sure told him. He wishes he was as cool as you

  • @TheOrangeFondler is that sarcasm?

  • @abrookes1985 haha just like your life. Hey at least you have something in common with this video.

  • anyone know what concert(s) they show from 4:30 to the end?

  • Vai certainly does a perfect Madonna with a guitar...

  • oh its so cool ;D

  • cheesy video but truly awesome song. one of my all-time favorites. love steve vai, though i think i prefer joe satriani

  • Dooga niin, Bergland school.... LMAO!!!!

  • Lol. I wanna do this in band :D

  • Steve Vai has been my favorite guitar composer of all time.

    Shreddin Licks!!!!!

  • love vai music but why does this have to remind me of van halen hot for teacher so much

  • To my old sciene teacher. :)

  • for fucks sake, i think everyone realizes it reminds them of hot for teacher... you can stop mentioning it.

  • The riff reminds of hot for teacher but with more to it and it sounds cooler. Steve Vai is awesome

  • i got it bad, got it bad, got it baaaad, i'm hot for teacher

  • steve vai is hot for teacher

  • Needles to say....he got laid during lunch.

  • the 11 people that disliked this got there ears blown off from pure awesomeness

  • Luuuv this song!! :D

  • Soooo Happy!

  • F.Zappa's influence - nice :)

  • fuckin awesome is RIGHT !!!!

  • i love all the JEMS and universes in this vid. and i wish i was in that croud when he threw that 550 in there. lucky fuckers

  • @deathcore1239 man i would have fought f*cking hard for that :P

  • @basskav wouldnt we all? not even cuz it was vais, just cuz the roadflare red rg550 is a badass fuckin guitar!

  • Epic as hell

  • bet you think this kid had so much fun doing this lol

  • J'adooore, en boucle!

  • I LOVE IT!@#!@

  • best part is when the kid hits the principle over the head with his binder. hahaha

  • This is the first song I ever heard by "that Steve Vai"...hooked ever since. Glad this is on line

  • The melody, the riff, the video, the concept....look strangly to the music video of Van Halen - Hot For Teacher.

  • @poutinechaude Yeah Steve def got inspired from that song.

  • 3:38 young Vai physically abused the teacher

  • yup, even after all these years, i still think it's the perfect song the make old farts flip over!!!XD great vid!!

  • Isn't that Thomas McRocklin? (He was an Ibanez Endorsee during this time and was often pictured playing JEMs in the old Ibanez catalogs.....)

  • @Billyhadley1965yeah Yeah, from Bad4Good.

  • Mudda' flickin' awesomeness coated in an awesome wrap of wickedness!!!

  • reminds me hot for teacher xd

  • @1803fe in this case the teacher is not hot :S

  • @1803fe come on man after a six pack you would hit it.

  • i bet that kid that played young steve vai in the video got so much pussy because of this.

  • @rickyjshiznit ahahha yeah right

  • @rickyjshiznit That kid would be Tommy McRocklin, who ended up joining the band Bad 4 Good.

  • @WarInBed i wish they would have made more than one album, i want to know how good this kid got.

  • @rickyjshiznit Yeah, I only know about the one album, and truth be told, lost interest afterwords. I've tried looking him up on here, not too much, but if you find anything, or vice versa, I'll see what I can do to post.

  • @WarInBed according to wikipedia they disbanded after the first album. the singer did some acting(he was john connors friend in terminator 2, thats where i recognized him from). the drummer played for bad religion, the bassist sang for a band called AI, and tommy mcrocklin apparently disappeared from public view after they broke up. kind of a shame, he's gotta be incredibly good at 30 something if he was that good at 12.

  • @rickyjshiznit Good to know! I have limited access, so I don't have a lot of time to look up certain things(3 hours a day at public library)...thanks for all the info!

  • @rickyjshiznit

Oh no, I'm pretty sure he got more pussy than animal hoarders. lol

  • 0:19 - 0:46...charlie brown???? pero al revés

    muy buen video \m/

  • Love this song thanks...so cool even after all this time..

  • Frankie leave that girl alone, we're not going to have another incident like Mildred.

  • I wish had those stacks in class sometimes

  • now this is what i call a class

  • omg! Little vai just physically abused the teacher! :P

  • i'd chopp the teacher

  • AWESOMEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its hilarious the way he says shut up at 2:59

  • My only complaint is that the kids are doing a poor job looking like they are playing the song o their instruments.

  • I know this kid!!! Is @!LizzyLouiz!!!

  • the best

  • I wrote this song for all my friend

  • yeAHHH COOLL WESOME¡¡¡¡¡

  • If you look closely you will notice the amps arent turned on. :)

  • Dude. I have to learn to compose like this guy. Total chills around 4:17, and then my body starts shaking once 4:30 hits. I just wish that this song didn't have the annoying dialogue.

  • those kids are badass!!!

  • ........ I really enjoy that He can make His guitar talk !!! ... and it's a really fun video !!! ... goodonya fasztival ...

  • lol This is the most awesome music video I've ever seen. XD

  • shut the fuck up all of you. steve vai is better than you, no matter what kind of music you like to listen to or play. i guarantee youd shit yourself if steve showed up at your front door with evo in hand.

  • I adore his technique and some of his tracks - but, overall, this is exactely what comes to my mind, when thinking of Vai's music - sisy music for children..

  • Steve Vai stated that while touring with David Lee Roth, he liked playing Hot for Teacher so much that he wrote this song as a tribute to it.

  • @countstromboli nive double post.

  • Steve Vai stated that while touring with David Lee Roth, he liked playing Hot for Teacher so much that he wrote this song as a tribute to it.

  • fuckin God

  • didn't the kid playing steve in the video go on to form a band of his own called bad 4 good or something like that

  • @edhombre yes

  • Is the teacher played by Catwoman (Julie Newmar) from the old Batman series?

  • That kid became my hero for the first 46 seconds of the video for those faces.

  • this reminds me too much of HOT FOR TEACHER BY VAN HALEN

  • @asd616 it prolly does since steve vai was mentored by eddie van halen so their playing styles are the alike

  • @magictouch5353

    And what about Satriani?

  • @asd616 i think that was the idea

  • @asd616 i hope that teacher doesnt seem attractive to you. lol

  • copied...van halen-hot for teacher

  • @1blondietuco1 not really. yes it takes place in a classroom but that doesnt mean he copied it off of van halen's hot for teacher :P

  • steve:ahhh shut up!!!!!
