Guitarmusic-stuff. There is no one like him,.....but there is something I have to say:

To play the SMB-tracks live, he needs a second Guitarplayer or a keyboardplayer.

I would be glad to here The Introduction or Highland Wedding, Get In Writing or whatever just like on the Record. But this is not possible to play for a Trio

I couldn't even make such a great mistake at 2.08. It's sweet when such a great musician proofs, he is still a human being. I don't mean his technical ability but sense of beauty when improvising. Such talents drop on earth like meteors from above. Steve you are THE BEST!!

This is one of my favourites. Beautiful and amazing how they covered the parts. Very difficult to get this to work outside the studio but it sounds very natural.

One thing: because "Stand Up" is not such a popular album, the last track on it, 'Unity Gain', doesn't get much of an airing. But it's just as good as this. Check it out.

Saw Steve Five times here in Milwaukee ,WI.1st time was at Bastille days live outdoors in cathedral square downtown!!Trippin on cid unbelievable show.Last was at a small venue called Shank hall---might have been two hundred people there.Steve did a meet and greet after and I have never met a nicer more down to earth guy in my life!

Great reading all the comments--High Tension Wires IS Steve's Masterpiece!!--The mix of him solo--and with different members of the Dregs is his best work(which is saying something)---Modoc will be played on a continuous loop for hours at my funeral..Just saw The SMB in a little bar in Philly las tmonth--I spent 2 hours 5 feet from him --He is second to none, and have never seen so many people with the same jaw dropping look!!!---Now go back to Europe and make some cash!!!

Between Dixie Dregs and putting together The Steve Morse Band I saw him open up for The Allman Brothers at the Fox in Atlanta. He was alone on stage and I wanted to quit playing guitar buy the time he was done. Jaw dropping.

seen 'em live a few years back at a music fest in Newport, RI. e-mailed Dave/Steve beforehand and asked if they would play "Foreign Exchange" (off Structural Damage CD)

and they did!

great technique, loads of soul pouring out. a class act all the way.

I've listened to this SO many times on the way up to the ski areas in Colorado and Utah. The bit from about 2:30 on particularly catches the majesty of the mountains you're about "ride the ghostwind" on coming down the slopes. It seems to me the studio version had string accompaniment (probably synthesized. I miss that, but this is pretty good, especially for anyone who hasn't heard it before.

Remember when I first heard this tune on the Tension Wires Album,, I was blown away! And I still get the chills when the second part of this song kicks in. The whole album is a truly masterpiece both compositional wise and what concerns the guitar playing.

Yes! When I first bought High Tension Wires I was BLOWN AWAY. Then Souther Steel and Coast to Coast came out, and they were OK, but I haven't like the latest SMB albums very much lately. I've enjoyed the Major Impacts albums a bit more. But we want more composition like HTW!
