I've got one of these that I like really well. Kel-Tec makes a trigger shoe that saves wear and tear on the trigger finger. They also have a metal guide rod to replace the polymer one that comes with it.
Worst pistol i have ever owned. I had internal parts breaking with under 200 rounds on it. Sold it and now carry a Bersa thunder 380 plus. Very happy with it
I've carried my P11 in the front pocket of a pair of shorts in the middle of a Minnesota summer. It is a very good gun for concealed carry, especially when you can't wear a cover garment. I find it works best with standard pressure ammunition, not +P.
@thiagocessna we got my mom a bersa she had a kel tec but no one likes it it got a terribal recoil of any 9mm ive shot my fingure feels like its going to fall off every time you shoot it and trust me ive shot some heavy recoil guns and this is one of the worst
@thiagocessna the bersa is better thats what we got my mom for christmas she had a kel tec p-11 but the recoil on it is the worst out of any 9mm ive shot my fingure feels like its about to fall off anytime i shoot it its the only pistol i hate shooting
Pinga498, please stop. You're another one of those who advertise whatever's popular at the moment with "casual" shooters and have no actual knowledge of what you're talking about. If not, the last thing you'd do is talk crap about Kel-Tec. I'm surprised you aren't here praising Kimber to the high heavens...
The Kel Tec P11 is a good choice in a light inexpensive 9MM EDC handgun.
I have handled both the P11 and PF9 Kel Tecs. And the PF9 pinches my finger almost 100% of the time for whatever reason. P11 holds more bullets, fits the hand better, does not pinch your fingers. However it has a heavy not so nice trigger pull.I would pick it over the Karh products in a second. Thats 9mm, in 380 I buy a Bersa 380 that's what I have it rocks. D/A S/A hammer etc love the Bersa. I am going to buy a P11 also.
Sootch did you ever shoot the kahr pm9? i was wondering does is the kahr more comfortable to shoot or does it beat up on your hands too after 50-100 rounds? thanks for the vids
the PF-9 is smaller and that is made by kel tec so stop giving miss info and kel tec doesnt say it is the smallest by any means altho they do say that about the PF-9
@ConklinTa no,i got large hands, and it fits ok,you just have your pinky underneath the magazine.i think this pistol is a little over priced for what you get.it costs 250-300.ruger makes the lcp for about the same price.in case your wandering i own both and i would go with the ruger.its a 380 but they make a similar one in 9mm
Awesome pistol, specially for the price! 10+1 rounds, accurate at it's designed range and most important, completely reliable with ammo that it likes. Bought mine in 2000 with extra mags. Used it as my CCW pistol (retired my PPK-S) in Oregon, now that I am in S-CA, a CCW is so difficult to get, am still working on it, but feel naked after having had a CCW for almost 20 years LOL If you can get a P11 by all means do so, you will not regret it!
Great gun. Great video !! Just bought one $279.00 and shot 100 rounds of aluminum blazer no problem. Big kick and tough on the hand. The long trigger pull is weird. No slide bite. Very light to carry, Put it in your pocket and use it if the shtf !!!
i have done alot of research.. i would have to say... a snub nosed .357 revolver is the most reliable concealed carry pistol ever..and it will DROP a bear.
sootch just sold me on the keltec p11...can u still buy these around the way, i mean, are they still made and sold new?? i can't get past how the keltecs always look like they were designed and made in a garage somewhere. especially the p3at and pf9.
i had the kahr pm9. and im about to sell it. which saddens me bc it is very accurate and felt really good. but it was a jamomatic. out of 15 clips worth of ammo only 4 clips ran threw with out any problems. i spent 600 dollars on it and jams all the time.
First outing with P11 today, 180 rounds of Winchester Bulk *Cheep-O* Ammo. Only one issue, it didn't load but I didn't have the Mag all the way up. D'oe. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, pre pulling, or just pulling in one stroke I'm lousy with it. My Taurus Ultralight Stub .38 I am excellent with and that's a stub revolver!? But I'm impress with it other then that. More Practice is what I need. Kicks like a Mother, almost as bad as Stub .38 with +p ammo.
I have the P-11 and I found the recoil to be unbearable. I was looking for something smaller, lighter and cheaper than my Glock for concealed carry. I would say the P-11 is only good in one category...the PRICE! The recoil will break your arm and the trigger pull is way too long. Rent one at your range and see. Caveat emptor.
If anybody owns this pistol i'd suggest kel tec's 12 round magazine that is the SAME SIZE as the 10 round magazine so there's no reason not to carry 13 total rounds. They are for sale on kel tec's website.
I currently carry a charter arms pathfinder .22mag. I am considering this gun after I get my first full size gun. A Ruger P95 is what I am getting first. I may hop on a lever action next or this. Not sure yet. But I am very interested in this gun. Great review Don, as always. I will keep ya posted.
confrontation zone.) It is less then $10 from what I remember and was delivered in 3 days. I live in palm beach fl though and they are in coco beach. The KelTec owners group website is priceless too! krog.org. All KelTec owners talking about what works with their arm. KelTec has impeccable customer service and is always taking advice from owners. Such as the added mounting rain on the pf-9. But you can get a laser if you want on your p-11 too, it's just a limited selection.
I've fired some Gold Dot 124 gr HP's.... Had one jam, but nothing with federal so far. Just keep that rail and rail guide lubed. I find the p-11 likes to run wet like my AR. I've heard a lot of problems with the 40 cal upgrade for the p-11. It wasn't designed around a 40cal. Don't be tempted. There is a reason why KelTec doesn't make it in 40. Also, I recommend upgrading the polymer guide rail to the steal rail. Sense then, I'm shooting one whole at 10 yards. (realistic confrontation zone.) It

I love my P-11.... Its a bit more weight then the pf-9, but it helps control the recoil better in my opinion. I carry it in an inside the waistband and forget i have it sometimes. Also it has a better grip then the pf-9. "Functional checkering." That locking pin that you remove with a cartridge, can be a pain to get in the first 10 times or so when you break it down. I have read that the winchester 115 silvertip HP is 100% reliable for the p-11. I carry Federal 147 gr hydros, and haven't had a
Does anybody know what the +1 round magazine extension is called and where to buy them? Interested in turning my keltec 12 round factory mag into a 13 round with grip extension. All the extensions I have found do not add to mag capacity. Any help will be appreciated.
Have you shot this against the Glock 26? I find the 26 pretty comfy to shoot, and the specs seem similar. I shoot about 200 rounds a time at the range with the 26 an I find it very comfortable.
great reveiw i will have to subscribe is the trigger pull 9 pounds like keltec claims im going to get my girl freind a gun for ccw i would like her to have a trigger similar to a revolver
THIS IS A BAD BEGINNERS GUN. My dads fiancée just bought this gun for self-defense, and it is not user friendly. Although it says in manual this is a easy to use low recoil gun , it most certainly is not. Its a pain in the ass to load the clip, its nearly impossible to use the slide release to release the slide, and it moves around WAY too much for how small it is. This is definetly a gun for expirienced shooters only
the reason its nearly impossible to use the slide release is because its not a slide release......its a slide lock. You are suppose to just pull back on the slide alittle which will trigger the slide lock and the slide will release forward.
@MarchingBlueNGold Actually the Kel Tec is a great beginners gun, inexpensive, reliable, simple to operate, and accurate. as with all handguns it takes common sense to operate properly, so maybe try a beginner gun safety and operation course, its the operator, not the firearm.
@UrbanKnight12 I recently took my gun back to the shop to find out that it had FOUR up receiver malfunctions...Which was the reason the gun was so difficult to lock the slide, release the slide, and field strip. I have no shot a non-broken p-11 and i love it..i kinda feel dumb lol
great review!! but u guys ok with the gap under the slide 2:39 ? I can see through the gun and also see the spring inside, I went to Academy and found Sigs, some S&W and some Taurus autos also have unsightly gaps, this is not even a fit problem.
I have found the Hogue Handall moves my hand over a bit. I have not shot it yet with the Hogue, but I have the same bite mark you have from a PF9. Kel Tec's are certainly "kit" guns, but a little work and all is fine. My PF9 is accurate and reliable.
man i owned one the little sob kicked hard as hell for a 9mm when i used to take it to the range after the first 50 rounds my damn wrist started to hurt my friend who was bigger than me talked shit until he shot it, you feel everybit of the recoil
Another excellent review, Sootch! My girlfriend dislikes my P11 because her pinky gets pinched between the mag extension and the grip base, and because it ejected hot brass down her shirt (see my P11 review vid for a laugh), but I LOVE that gun. Far as I'm concerned, it is THE best CCW deal on the market today. A simple, reliable, light, subcompact 9mm under $300 - proof that you don't have to settle for a marginal caliber like .380 ACP for CCW!
that seems like VERY light recoil for the weight of the P-11. I have never shot one before, but am thinking of getting one. Is it really that light of a recoil or is the camera not fast enough?
Recently bought this pistol at a gun show for my walks in the country on gravel roads. I like the fact that I dont have to holster it , fits nicely in my right side zip up vest pocket Hit a styrofoam coffee cup at 15 feet in the middle first try, Is it cool like an old western revolver? No, but that not why I bought it, fine weapon for CC.
Just purchased one Sunday for easier and lighter CCW. Large pistols or heavy revolvers are a pain in the middle of the summer.
Chose this over the PF9 due to increased ammo capacity... 6+1 v 12+1 (with normal magazines) is a no brainer for about 0.20" (~6mm) gain in thickness. The remainder of the dimensions are a wash as far as I could teel in my hand.
Glad to see many people are purchasing these, means word is spreading and is a quality arm.
What do you know about shooting this left-handed? i would love to get this, but if that mag release gets in the way... then im going to have to spend alot more money for a gen4 glock. with the ambi mag catch.
Thanks for the review of the P-11. I purchased one 3/10 based on your and other reviews and it has been very reliable. No failures, not even during break-in. I don't get the "knuckle wear," but it is a handful to shoot, especially with +P ammo. It's surprisingly comfortable with the belt clip IWB, too. Like you said, it's not a range gun, but it is dependable for self-defense.
I have this gun and I'm happy with it. maybe one day i will trade it or sell it to buy a large frame 9mm just to keep in the house or for the range, but i take it to the range alot no problems. It felt funny to me at first but, after about 20-30 rounds it felt normal, if that makes any sense at all. paid 300 for it brand new so the price is right in my book. I also have the 32 kel tec which is oddly enough still one my favortie guns.
Anybody know why the barrel on this gun is shaped weird at the end I mean I know a little about handguns but cannot think of why the end of the barrel is shaped that way.
Thanks I had not thought that the thicker part would put more weight at the front of the barrel and thereby make it more accurate. Do you carry this gun CCW? If so do you use the 12 round magazines? I cannot understand why the standard capacity magazine is 10 rounds when kel tec makes a 12 round one that is exactly the same length. Doesn't make sense.
The P-11 was designed and put into production when the Federal AWB was in place. The ban limited handguns to 10 round mags, so that was made the standard for the P-11. The 12 rounders were made for L.E.O's who were not restricted in ammo capacity. The 12 rounders I carry in my P-11 have this nice engraving in them:
I have this pistol and I use the blue Glaser Safety Slugs in 9mm+p when I do carry it . I never had a problem with recoil with this gun. It must be because I shoot larger caliber pistols on a regular basis. It's one of those pistols that rides nicely in a fobus ankle holster when I do carry it.
love this vid i have been looking for a sub compact 9mm i think i know what i am going to get lol... i think this little pistol will look good with my hi-point 9mm c-9
i'm thinking of getting rid of mine because the trigger pull is way too long (plus the 9lb pull to it). When trying to shoot relatively fast I've pulled empty because it didn't go towards the end. I have eliminated this with practice but still can't rapid fire, best would probably be a 2 rounds in 1.5 seconds. rapid fire is necessary in a critical situation where split seconds count.
@emwaver try using a spritzer bottle to strengthen your trigger finger, just fill it full of water and unload it a few times each day. because i can dump my twelve round mag in about double that time. also how many rounds do you have through yours? i have a few thousand through mine and i hated the trigger when i first got it but now i love the heavy trigger pull.
Any one know anything about the 15 round extension for the mag? B/c i was doing some research on Kel-tec's website and they sell a 15 round extension for the pf-11.
The 15 round extension is to cover the bottom of other magazines. The P-11 accepts Smith and Wesson series 59/69 magazines, which come in 12 and 15 round configurations.
@illogicalmethod Yeah after doing some more research and looking at other videos i discovered that. At first i was thinking it was like the 2 round extenders you can get on glocks to where you take out the bottom plate on the magazine and then put the new extension/pinky grip on.
after seeing this video , i purchased my first pistol kinda intended it to be all purpose fun toy , but it will take practice to be super accurate at 30-35 yards any closer you will not have any problems , it doesnt have a kick but a whip to it , all in all i was a little disapointed in that it didnt arrive pretty ( which i new ) but a little work with a razor and sand paper it is as pretty as you would want , much need things to buy with it , another mag , the belt clip , the finger/frame ext.
its a fairly simple gun, my dad has one, but i just dont like the kick. a gun with kick doesnt bother me, but this mother felt like it was gonna fly backwards out of my hands. if u look at the part where he shoots it, u can see he has the same prob
@DLuangsay The main thing is that the P-11 has a 10 round, double-stacked magazine while the PF-9 is a 7-round, single stack thus allows it to be thinner(it's advertised as the "thinnest" 9mm on the market). The PF-9 also has a small rail under the front of the barrel that can fit a sub-compact, but expensive, tactical light on it; from what I've seen, the price for these lights seem to cost around as much as the gun itself & given their added width kinda of counters the PF-9's lack of thickness
@DLuangsay The P-11's trigger is a more traditional double action while the PF-9's can be pulled slightly back freely before performing in a tradional manner; the PF-9's trigger was supposively designed this way for safety reasons for pocket carry so if snagged the trigger won't be activated so easily; the P-11 seems to rely more on the weight of the trigger pull to acheive this. They seem to roughly cost the same give or take things such as different colored frames.
@DLuangsay I need to correct one of my claims. The subcompact lights that I believed are "around the cost" of the PF-9 is incorrect as I've found I was judging such a concept on laser/light X2 combos; for just a tactical light, I've seen prices as low as $120-130.
love this gun. put two or three hundred rounds through it every time i go shooting. reliable, just take care of the mags. by the way kel tec makes twelve round flush fit mags that work perfectly. accurate, the front sight blade is a little too fat to see light around it, sand a little off each side. the finish fights off rust and pitting nicely. kicks like an all steel 357 mag snubbie. but it will always be there with you and with a round chambered you are good to go. sootch00 rocks
@Mr007Ralphy Believe me, I agree with you, but their main selling point seems to be that they can cost around half as much as a Glock. The P-11's grip seems pretty rough, recoil seems to be more punishing, & it's reliabilty seems to vary from person to person. However, it's accessories tend to be cheaper & it "seems"(I emphasize on that)slightly lighter & thinner than the Glock's. Is it a Glock? No, but I'd like to think my life's worth saving up a couple hundred more bucks.
@AirsoftStaffSGT1 sootch says at around 1:20 that the price is around the $250-300 range & judging from what seems to be the only gun shop near me that actually carries any & Ableammo, that's what I'm seeing too.
Good video. My P11 has worked well with JHP and FMJ ammo except the first round wouldn't feed easily a couple times. Since I keep around in the chamber, I trust it with my life. It had bad paint on the rear sight and Kel Tec sent me new sights no questions asked. Good pistol for the price, and excellent customer service.
Bull Shite! I have one and lift weights regularly with pretty stong hands from playing guitar. He is right, after 50-70 max, you won't want to fire it too much more. It eats your hands up and my trigger finger was super tired due to the long hard pull. This gun isn't right for me. Going to trade at some point.
Sootch, I sure like your vids. I always research on youtube before I buy, and your P11 vids were quite helpful in the decision for my CC.
I almost bought the Pf9, which is actually the lightest, thinnest 9mm (over the P11), but with only a single stack holding 6 +1, I bought the P11 for the 10 +1 and thicker grip.
I have had zero malfunctions during break-in, and trust this little pistol every day I carry. I recomend this trustworthy keltec to everyone!
Wrong. The PF9 holds 7+1. Dude, the slimmer profile of the PF9 is what makes it so comfortable to carry! The PF9 also has a 5lb. trigger pull which really helps on DA shots whereas the p11 is 9lbs!! But yeh the extra rounds of the PF11 is nice though and I like that you can get a 12 rnd mag. !! Oh well,, there are always compromises i guess. I might end up with one but that trigger pull has to be lighter! Nice thing is I can have two Keltecs for much less than my HK .40
Slap a trigger shoe on it and have someone who knows what they're doing, polish the trigger bar for you. P-11 can accept S&W series 59/69 magazines, so you can get 15 rounders and up, for it if you really wanted to.
I think that Kahr is loosing a LOT!! of sales to Keltec. $250 vs. $750!! From what I heard the PF9/11 were one of the hottest selling handguns in USA recently. I would get one soon because good guns go up in price and soon these could be selling for 350 and still they would be a great value. I was lucky to find one local to buy.
ok he says that after about 50 rounds that you want to put it down ok ok maby but yester day i was at the rang and put about 250 or 350 rounds throw it and i am fine and i am just your average sized 15 year old...
@Dragon7697 Stringing low and left generally means you are not applying smooth consistent pressure to the trigger and are in fact pulling the pistol low and left right before the hammer drops. Concentrate on your trigger control over your sight picture.
Excellent review. My brother decided to sell his to me for $150 with less than 100 rounds through it. He did have some jamming at first, is this common before breaking?
hey sootch, trying to decide if this is the gun for my girlfriend....its got to be something she WANTS to carry...not like the g19 i carry. What you think? i just don't won't to go into 380 territory...want to stay in the 9mm...
Where can you get a .45 of any brand for less than $400? Perhaps in Hell, Satinshitman. Could be though that you don't know what you are talking about. My guess is the later.
@SailTCB theres a couple .45 you can get under 400 the high points are all under 200 i think you can find some glocks around 300 im not sure how good high points are but glocks are really good ive never had one jam
@SailTCB right well i bought my taurus 24-7 pro in 45 for 369 bucks and my friend just bought a taurus compact 45 with a ten round mag for around the same price. and yes i saw the kahr in 45 at h&h gun range here in ok for around four
@sootch00 as much as I love my P11, I have to send it back to Kel Tec. Bought it brand new, around the 8th round there was failure to feed, failure to eject, and the trigger wouldn't reset. Field strip it and found out that the trigger spring had pop out.......now I'm back to playing with my Glock19...
@sootch00 Consider the MK9 Kahr. I tried a friends at the range and it was amazing. Shoots like a medium heavy 9mm. I think it's worth the extra money. Don't have one but it's on my wish list.
@sootch00 just got my p11 back. TOOK!! 3 months for kel tec to fix my trigger spring. Haven't put any rounds through it yet, hoping it still function.
I bought mine used for 149.99. ive had it for two years and i never had one probelm with it, I take it to the range alot, i'm a deputy sheriff, and i carry it off duty all the time. My department gave us glock 19. but my p11 is lighter and easyer to carry. I have used it the last two times i had to qualify with a firearm and it shoot's to point of aim. unlike my glock it has a real double action trigger.
@aax479mm well I can't trust my p11 yet until I get it back from kel tec and put enough ammo through it to trust it. For now I trust my glock19. Over 500rds through my glock without a problem but my p11 only 8rds and a problem came up. Good luck with your p11...
This is a great pistol. I have owned one for or almost 12 years. It is reliable, accurate and easy to carry. Why spend more only to get the same results? The price is right!!!
I can't understand what these guys mean by recoil? Could be if you have larger sized hands. For average or smaller hands, this gun handles great.
Well the recoil could be a factor for smaller persons, esp females. Further, I think his point was that shooting a lot of rounds through it will fatigue a shooter more than with a heavy gun.
@eviltwin47 thegangvault2 is right, I don't mind recoil. The Kel-Tec rubs against the inside web of the hand between the thumb and index finger. I shoot 44mag with no issues.
Got my p11 today as well! Shoots great with AE and Remingtons (115 FMJ). Winchesters were really sloppy and weren't too consistent on the target. I'll probably look into a mag extension at the bottom for the full grip, like sootch said in his tabletop. Thanks for this great review.
I've got one of these that I like really well. Kel-Tec makes a trigger shoe that saves wear and tear on the trigger finger. They also have a metal guide rod to replace the polymer one that comes with it.

Very light to carry, Put it in your pocket and use it if the shtf !!!

sootch just sold me on the keltec p11...can u still buy these around the way, i mean, are they still made and sold new?? i can't get past how the keltecs always look like they were designed and made in a garage somewhere. especially the p3at and pf9.
paikmendez 8 months ago
i had the kahr pm9. and im about to sell it. which saddens me bc it is very accurate and felt really good. but it was a jamomatic. out of 15 clips worth of ammo only 4 clips ran threw with out any problems. i spent 600 dollars on it and jams all the time.

I've heard a lot of problems with the 40 cal upgrade for the p-11. It wasn't designed around a 40cal. Don't be tempted. There is a reason why KelTec doesn't make it in 40. This is definetly a gun for expirienced shooters only
MarchingBlueNGold 1 year ago
@MarchingBlueNGold
the reason its nearly impossible to use the slide release is because its not a slide release......its a slide lock. You are suppose to just pull back on the slide alittle which will trigger the slide lock and the slide will release forward.
jchamilton136 11 months ago
@MarchingBlueNGold Actually the Kel Tec is a great beginners gun, inexpensive, reliable, simple to operate, and accurate. as with all handguns it takes common sense to operate properly, so maybe try a beginner gun safety and operation course, its the operator, not the firearm.
UrbanKnight12 11 months ago
@UrbanKnight12 I recently took my gun back to the shop to find out that it had FOUR up receiver malfunctions...Which was the reason the gun was so difficult to lock the slide, release the slide, and field strip. I have no shot a non-broken p-11 and i love it..i kinda feel dumb lol

I have found the Hogue Handall moves my hand over a bit. I have not shot it yet with the Hogue, but I have the same bite mark you have from a PF9. Kel Tec's are certainly "kit" guns, but a little work and all is fine. My PF9 is accurate and reliable.

NobodyFamous2008 1 year ago
Just purchased one Sunday for easier and lighter CCW. Large pistols or heavy revolvers are a pain in the middle of the summer.
Chose this over the PF9 due to increased ammo capacity... 6+1 v 12+1 (with normal magazines) is a no brainer for about 0.20" (~6mm) gain in thickness. The remainder of the dimensions are a wash as far as I could teel in my hand.
Glad to see many people are purchasing these, means word is spreading and is a quality arm.
DEWESNE 1 year ago
I'd say it isn't designed for comfortable shooting. It is designed to give you maximum firepower in a subcompact pistol.

Like you said, it's not a range gun, but it is dependable for self-defense.
jwash3rd 1 year ago
9mm might b wimpy but it kicks if u have such a light subcompact in that case I'll go 380 or 32 I prefer compact only for a 9mm like a Glock 19

Anybody know why the barrel on this gun is shaped weird at the end I mean I know a little about handguns but cannot think of why the end of the barrel is shaped that way.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762 The shape of the Barrel helps with lock up and makes the barrel stable. This helps with accuracy. Thanks~
sootch00 1 year ago
@sootch00
Doesn't make sense.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762 I guess in some states like California you cant have a gun with more than 10 rounds in the magazine. It's just for legal reasons.
JoeDurobot 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762

It's one of those pistols that rides nicely in a fobus ankle holster when I do carry it.

i'm thinking of getting rid of mine because the trigger pull is way too long (plus the 9lb pull to it). When trying to shoot relatively fast I've pulled empty because it didn't go towards the end. I have eliminated this with practice but still can't rapid fire, best would probably be a 2 rounds in 1.5 seconds. rapid fire is necessary in a critical situation where split seconds count.
emwaver 1 year ago
@emwaver try using a spritzer bottle to strengthen your trigger finger, just fill it full of water and unload it a few times each day. because i can dump my twelve round mag in about double that time. also how many rounds do you have through yours? i have a few thousand through mine and i hated the trigger when i first got it but now i love the heavy trigger pull.
tac94540 1 year ago
Any one know anything about the 15 round extension for the mag? B/c i was doing some research on Kel-tec's website and they sell a 15 round extension for the pf-11.
CollegeBoy1990 1 year ago
@CollegeBoy1990
The 15 round extension is to cover the bottom of other magazines. The P-11 accepts Smith and Wesson series 59/69 magazines, which come in 12 and 15 round configurations.
illogicalmethod 1 year ago
@illogicalmethod Yeah after doing some more research and looking at other videos i discovered that. At first i was thinking it was like the 2 round extenders you can get on glocks to where you take out the bottom plate on the magazine and then put the new extension/pinky grip on.
CollegeBoy1990 1 year ago
after seeing this video , i purchased my first pistol kinda intended it to be all purpose fun toy , but it will take practice to be super accurate at 30-35 yards any closer you will not have any problems , it doesnt have a kick but a whip to it , all in all i was a little disapointed in that it didnt arrive pretty ( which i new ) but a little work with a razor and sand paper it is as pretty as you would want , much need things to buy with it , another mag , the belt clip , the finger/frame ext.

Whats the difference between this and the Pf 9?
DLuangsay 1 year ago
@DLuangsay The main thing is that the P-11 has a 10 round, double-stacked magazine while the PF-9 is a 7-round, single stack thus allows it to be thinner(it's advertised as the "thinnest" 9mm on the market). The PF-9 also has a small rail under the front of the barrel that can fit a sub-compact, but expensive, tactical light on it; from what I've seen, the price for these lights seem to cost around as much as the gun itself & given their added width kinda of counters the PF-9's lack of thickness
IIMoses740II 1 year ago
@DLuangsay The P-11's trigger is a more traditional double action while the PF-9's can be pulled slightly back freely before performing in a tradional manner; the PF-9's trigger was supposively designed this way for safety reasons for pocket carry so if snagged the trigger won't be activated so easily; the P-11 seems to rely more on the weight of the trigger pull to acheive this. They seem to roughly cost the same give or take things such as different colored frames.
IIMoses740II 1 year ago
@DLuangsay I need to correct one of my claims. The subcompact lights that I believed are "around the cost" of the PF-9 is incorrect as I've found I was judging such a concept on laser/light X2 combos; for just a tactical light, I've seen prices as low as $120-130.
IIMoses740II 1 year ago
love this gun. put two or three hundred rounds through it every time i go shooting. reliable, just take care of the mags. by the way kel tec makes twelve round flush fit mags that work perfectly. accurate, the front sight blade is a little too fat to see light around it, sand a little off each side. the finish fights off rust and pitting nicely. kicks like an all steel 357 mag snubbie. but it will always be there with you and with a round chambered you are good to go. sootch00 rocks

Mr007Ralphy 1 year ago
@Mr007Ralphy Believe me, I agree with you, but their main selling point seems to be that they can cost around half as much as a Glock. The P-11's grip seems pretty rough, recoil seems to be more punishing, & it's reliabilty seems to vary from person to person. However, it's accessories tend to be cheaper & it "seems"(I emphasize on that)slightly lighter & thinner than the Glock's. Is it a Glock? No, but I'd like to think my life's worth saving up a couple hundred more bucks.
IIMoses740II 1 year ago
how much does it cost

Bull Shite! I have one and lift weights regularly with pretty stong hands from playing guitar. He is right, after 50-70 max, you won't want to fire it too much more. It eats your hands up and my trigger finger was super tired due to the long hard pull. This gun isn't right for me. Going to trade at some point.
robbelliii 1 year ago

@GoOfY1537 Sorry to hear about the mishap. I'm looking at a new Glock 26 :)
Hope it all works out~

Go for it. You won't be disappointed.

recoil come on do some push ups
eviltwin47 1 year ago
Well the recoil could be a factor for smaller persons, esp females. Further, I think his point was that shooting a lot of rounds through it will fatigue a shooter more than with a heavy gun.

@eviltwin47 thegangvault2 is right, I don't mind recoil. The Kel-Tec rubs against the inside web of the hand between the thumb and index finger. I shoot 44mag with no issues.

over 500 rounds only 1 f. to eject and in the first 50 rds. Not the greatest range gun but a great cc.

Got my p11 today as well! Shoots great with AE and Remingtons (115 FMJ). Winchesters were really sloppy and weren't too consistent on the target. I'll probably look into a mag extension at the bottom for the full grip, like sootch said in his tabletop. Thanks for this great review.
