@rocketscientist102 go to finale's website and download Finale Reader ( i think thats what it s called ) it's their free one and you can print with it
continuing again... overplaying the thirds in the first 2 measures of the sequences almost gives the song a "Canon in D" sound to it. I'd really like to hear the trombone sound on this song done closer to the original... if you have time.
continuing from last post... while right thumb should be striking the upbeat on a B in measures 1,2, and 3... then the full step down to the A in measure 4. On the second set of four measures (call them 5-8), it should be played exactly like the first four... only, on measure 7 (corresponding to measure 3), the pointer should be striking a D# on the downbeat. you're sort of overplaying the thirds. The original doesn't have any thirds until the second 2 measures of each sequence. (I think)...
mmmmmm.... that's ok... but if you want to get the real notation sound as journey recorded it, you need to know how it's played on a keyboard. The right pinky and right pointer/middle play the downbeats. In measure 1, the pinky strikes a B while the pointer strikes an E. In measure 2, the pinky strikes same B, while middle strikes F#. In measure 3, the pinky strikes same B, while pointer strikes E again. In measure 4, the pinky strikes one full step down to A, and pointer strikes C#.
@tippitoverplease As far as the playback goes in the video, it's a computer playing sheet music with a Midi. I didn't take the extra time and headache (since my program isn't the greatest) to make sure everything is balanced.
I leave it up to the people who perform it to make it sound excellent.
just to open up those chords i'd have personally put an 8va on the first part through most of don't stop believin. it's really clustered so unless you scream that part you're gonna cause accidental crazy overtones and dissonance
@Warpstarkirby Feel free to do so. I arrange these songs for a wider range of players. I specifically try to include those who are in High School band, as I as wanted to play songs like this in HS. The sheet music wasn't there, though, so I had to make up my own. And with it, I decided to share it with others.
@NSZachP i'm a high school player, senior right now, played through grade school but developed real skill in high school. only played 2 1/2 years in high school and my range is from pedal F to second F above the staff. a player on first trombone in a low brass ensemble shuld be able to hit a double Bb, at the very very least, and a second player should be able to hit high F (seeing as by the end of freshman year you should know your circle of fifths and that note's in the first scale)
@Warpstarkirby While yes, you may be able to have a fantastic range, others (who may not have as much talent or just not good enough of a program) may not be able to. And even if they could hit those higher notes, it doesn't mean they can continuously hit those high notes for half the song.
@NSZachP i'm from a school of 700 and didn't make all-state this year. i think i'm less-than-exceptional, esp. for a player taking a first part in a trombone/low brass ensemble
@NSZachP hey how did you make this like i kno this is this progarm tht you can download and make music with it...you kno what i mean if so what is it called
Would you like me to make a vid response to this of me playing it? (all on the same trombone, there is one note I will have to push up :P)

@Warpstarkirby Either way, if you feel you can do the 1st Trombone part up an octave, there is nothing stopping you. Go for it.
