There seems to be a misunderstanding about what true conversion into Christianity is. I have a question David, explain to me what the gospel of Jesus Christ is.
I was Christian for 30 years and know quite well that if you put 10 random well educated Christians in a room and ask that sort of question you'll won't get agreement. So do me a favor and don't bother asking non-believers such questions until you get Christians to actually agree on the basics of Christianity first. And good luck with that.
Every cat meows. If a cat wanted to bark like a dog, it couldn't because it is a cat and cats do not bark. A cat couldn't become a dog either because as a cat, it does not have the ability to change its own species. If a cat attempted to act like a dog or thought it was a dog, in the end it would fail because it isn't a dog and as a cat, it is bound to meow because it can not do anything other than that. A cat will always be a cat unless it is somehow magically changed into a dog.
If a cat believes that it was magically changed into a dog, it would still meow because it infact was not changed into a dog, but remained a cat. Now, if it DID change into a dog, it would begin to bark because as a dog it has to bark since dogs bark. If the dog went back to meowing, it was never a dog at all, but a cat trying to act like a dog. A true dog will live its entire lifestyle as a dog unless magically changed and the same goes for a cat. So if a cat is changed, it will live as a dog.
Basically the point I am trying to make is that all of us as humans were born as sinners (cats), and we could do doing but sin (meow) because we are sinners and by nature what we do is sin. If we ever tried to do good (bark), we would always end up in our sinful lifestyle because we are sinners. We will continue to sin until our death until we are somehow changed. We must realize that as sinners we can not change ourselves because we are unable to. God then comes in. Only he can change us.
A Christian (dog) bears good fruit (bark) because it is a Christian and as a Christian it must bear good fruit since that is its new nature. If it doesn't bear good fruit it is not a Christian at all because Christians bear good fruit. A sinner could live a Christian lifestyle because it is a sinner vice versa. A Christian will continue to live its Christian lifestyle because it is a Christian. If it doesn't, it was never a Christian at all.
Now, the only way the cat can become a dog is by realizing that it is a cat and will always be a cat unless it gets a magical power. In the same way a Christian is saved when he realizes how much of a God hating sinner he is and that he can not become a Christian without the power of God. So for someone to make a claim that they were a "Christian" but now left the faith is completely false. The Bible says that the person God has begun a God work in, God will complete it.
So if God ever seemingly worked on someone and the person just left, that person was never worked on in the first place. God WILL complete what he has started. So unless you actually were saved and are now in a VERY long struggle that you will get out of one day, you were never saved in the first place. If you die an unbeliever, you were ALWAYS an unbeliever. The evidence of true salvation is that their salvation is continuing! So no, you were not a Christian for 30 years.
To be honest, all you were for 30 years was a "Church-goer." And unfortunately, a majority of "Christians" today are not actually Christians but instead are cats that call themselves dogs. That's the problem with Christianity today, we forgot what it meant to be a Christian! If you have not been saved by God, you are not a Christian, and if God did save you, there should be evidence of your salvation, if that evidence does not exist, you were not saved and therefore are not a Christian. Thanks!
I've read it and studied it. Heck I was Christian for most my life. I'd wager quite a lot of money (if I thought I could get an honest answer) that YOU actually haven't read it beyond the selected portions covered in Sunday School.
well excuse me,but i dont get a chance to attend sunday school although i would like to, and ur right about not reading it all but i always research and study the topics that become interested in, aside from watching sermons, reading books ect.
i know, as sad as it sounds its true. thats why this year my goal is to read, if not all, 2/3 of the bible. Astonishingly the commitment its not that hard....
Yes, reading it is easy. It's the believing it that's difficult (for me anyway).
While you're reading it keep in mind something... this is supposedly the book from the creator of the universe. So where is any "striking attribute" that would make it objectively stand out as the work of an all knowing god? Think about that while you read it.
Recognize that you're asking an atheist, but... In my view homosexuality isn't a "sin." It doesn't hurt anyone or go against the golden rule. However attacking homosexuality as a sin does go against the golden rule as you wouldn't want other people to attack you for your sexual orientation.
why do you keep on making people agnostic? People you guys are going to die. Misterybox you keep on thinking about God as someone who doesn't exist unless the go according to your beliefs. Just stop. God is real. People please believe. You guys are making a very serious mistake. And bad things that humans do is because of themselves not because of their religion. You(Misterybox) are not erudite at all. Please i beseech you to stop. You will suffer.
If there actually is a god there is still the problem of WHICH god that is. Man has worshiped literally thousands of gods. If a god does exist what are the odds you've picked the right one out of thousands of choices? Straight odds say you picked the wrong and might have offended the real one. You're an atheist just like me to thousands of gods that might exist, yet I'm sure you're not worried just as I'm not worried about your god.
I notice god is not obvious and thus probably does not exist (or does not wish to be worshiped). If I'm wrong at least my reasoning is solid. I can explain my reasoning to a god and how I was consistent in worshipping no gods. You however have no such defense. Actually the odds are that you're in worse shape than me if there is a god. You'd better hope if there is a god (but not the one you think) that he's more benevolent than the demonic god of hellfire that you worship.

"You will suffer"... heh, you need a good Darth Vader voice to pull that off.
Seriously though if my videos upset you may I "beseech" you to not watch them.

I'm just doing what it's right. Common sense would tell you that it's better believe in God because what would happen if God was actually real?
