  • Big Kirov fan especially for the classics, Bolshoi very good but Kirov better with more style, not afraid to step off the straight and narrow

  • The American own football, the Spanish own the fiesta brava & the Russians own classic ballet.

I've seen the Kirov & Bolshoi many times only the Cubans meet their standards.

When the Bolshoi dances Don Quixote it is mind boggling.

    Ole el arte!

    An admirer....

  • damn, she's really good.

  • Ballet = Porn

  • Oh my GOD. Okay, so I'm 14, almost 15. When I was younger, my parents never enrolled me in ANYTHING. Which sucks. Because now I have no talent and ughghhhh. But this summer, hopefully I can start taking ballet lessons... For once in my life, I actually have an interest in something outside of school or whatever. I'm so excited. I know I can do it. Of course, I won't be able to dance like THAT for a lonnnnggg time..But one day... I will. Just gotta stick with it!! Wish me luck! c:

  • About 150 people don't know what ballet is :(

  • i wanna be in ballet im 13 and its my dream

  • @KatelynnandTrin You can start now, it's still a nice age. Good luck, it's my dream too, but just as a bobbie but anyone trust me so they don't even gimme the opportunity of being in a school and I'm 15.

  • Just when I thought my admiration for these people couldn`t get any bigger, it came to my mind, that, apart from their pysical skill, they also have to remember about 2 hours of choreography. Flawless.

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SWEET GIRL?

  • @TheFirstClassedFreak SHE'S GONE!!!

  • i like it, but it seems the dance is focusing on her legs more than anythg else

  • BALLET=PORN ~ Would you let your wife or girlfriend dance with a man in tights!!! ROFL

  • @caramelking2000 Yes, because its an art, only trivial people think such things.

  • @caramelking2000 there is something very wrong with you if you think this is like porn! this is ART darling. it is so very beautiful, there is nothing sexual about it.

  • @tarajade87

I've seen people make arguments saying that this entire scene is driven by the Prince's sexual desire to Odile.

  • Awesome

  • HERMOSOO':3♥'n.n

  • 8:27 I'm pretty sure she can chaine faster than I can run...

  • Rapid increase Ballet shocking secret website: bal.nn.cx

  • Wow her attitude position is perfect! But aren't backwards pivots a jazz thing?

  • @dragonez12 Are you referring to her renversé turns? That turn is actually of Spanish origin but was later incorporated into ballet. And Swan Lake was choreographed in the 19th century, so...

  • Sooo beautiful

  • This is absolute perfection.

  • Precise stops...

  • @Mr131211109876543210 This ballerina wins my Park.

  • @Mr131211109876543210 I can't stand on my toes.

  • @Mr131211109876543210 I can't do the splits.

  • @Mr131211109876543210 His hips could sprain mine.

  • who is the ballerina in this???

  • who in the heck would not like this? this is amazing! and I'm gonna be just as good when i'm older....kinda haha maybe not that good.

  • i wish it was as easy as it looks ive been danceing for years now and my feet still bleed

  • people think that guys and ballet are gay, but they dont know how damn strong you have to be to make those ballet moves look so good

  • @hgfjyrdetryu

Yeah that's such a stupid stereotype

  • i ♥ ballet

  • i would wear tht tutu anywhere

  • sculture in motion...incredibly beautiful. Enrico Cecchetti's contribution to Russian Ballet must not be forgotten. Teacher of, among others, Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinsky, Leonide Passine.

    ignato100

  • i have technique just like that...LMFAO! i wish :(

  • @cromptonator are you a girl or a boy?

  • @Whyville101 well, I watched the video again and everyone is right, this is not Svetlana Zakharova. It is Yulia. They both are great, but I still think Svetlana edges her out- Svetlana is crisper, more precise!

  • Do her arms ever end!?

  • You know a dancer is doing it right when she makes it look easy.

  • русский балет самый балетистый балет

  • she has a beautful arabesque' but isn her passe' overcrossed?

  • Um, i cant even do 2 fouettes in ballet shoes let alone however many she just did on point....

  • Beautififul and graceful, a striking contrast to the vulgarity we are so used to.

  • Why did I stop dancing ballet when I was little?-.-' stupid little me. I've been regretting since the day I stopped at the ballet school. I could've continued with lessons but no no. So everyone whos thinking about quitting because it's too boring or because it's too hard, don't stop! You'll probably regret so much like I did, and you can't learn everything at once so keep fighting and don't stop!

  • @aprilswonderchild Same story here. I would kick myself in the head, but unfortunately I didn't stay in ballet lessons long enough to become that flexible.

  • @aprilswonderchild I feel the same about giving up the violin.

  • I hate her tutu :(

  • This dancer is so lithe, but her fouettes are sloppy.

  • I am so here bc of Black Swan!

  • My heart stops everytime I see this -> 10:08

  • Thumbs up if you are here beacause of Black Swan

  • she's GORGEOUS!! :)

  • Please who IS SHE ?

  • @fifig10 Yuilia Makhalina

  • the man's jumps are amazing! He is defying gravity!

  • ahhh....just perfect!!

  • The man's costume lets you see every nook and cranny.

  • I love the way this dancer makes the moves flow so easily, but I will always favor Alicia Alonso >.< no offence to any other dancers!

  • @flubished Yulia Makhalina try actually watching the video

  • @erinundra who can definitevly tell us who the prima ballerina is? I still say it's Svetlana Zakharova!

  • SUPER!!!

  • she makes it look so easy

  • OMG Dude, it's KIROV

  • A performance by Svetlana like mo one else- flawless, powerful, beautiful!

  • @flubished I'm not sure who the dancer is, but it's not Svetlana Zhakarova.

  • i love ballet :)

  • tupac did ballet faggots

  • :-)

  • i wish i could do half the stuff they do... you just gotta love this!

  • I did not like the dancer. His movements are very sharp and should be more fluid and gently

  • Mesmerizing!

  • They are so talented it hurts to watch. :p

  • The Black Swan is supposed to be seductive, I found her daft, and that tutu is not seductive at all! But I liked her dance moves but the expressions matter.

  • I only know that in advanced training AND at the Royal Ballet we always called them lame ducks! Like I said, it saved a lot of French words but of course when first learning them & teaching them one should use the correct terms. Profs. do get a bit lazy with terms and devise their own way of ballet-speak, not all of which filters down, I'm very glad to say, as some of it definitely not suitable for family viewing!.

  • @MrKLT194 janey Mack I wasn't being serios it was just a joke and I'm only in grade 4 so there's no need to slag off my teacher

  • @killercerys5 Regardless of what these 'experts' tell you, please don't call them "lame ducks" - it's not the correct name at all. "Piqué turn en dehors" is the right term (which describes the stept itself) and is not that hard to learn :)

  • @theamazingsoter ok thanks!!!!

  • @theamazingsoter ok thanks!!! and is threre much difference between "pigue turn eh dehors" with the foot infront and behind the knee

  • @killercerys5 That's a long answer. I'll send you a pm.

  • can't get enough of this

  • One of the few delicate arts where the men continually surprise me. I realize they are equally as talented as the women, but as a layman, I forget that. For crying out loud, he LEAPS into the air like a rocket, and touches his feet together behind his back with his arms straight out! I think he is literally about four or five feet off the ground, and I'm 5"1' (I'm an American, sue me), and I've been trying to visualize this man leaping so high I'm looking up at his knees (no dirty jokes, plz)

  • oh my god!!! they are so good! im a ballet dancer too but i have to train a lot to can do what they are doing....

  • ohh!!! im ragin i have my exam !! i just realised on her posie turns she has her foot in front of her knee instead of behind!!!! haha! profesional smecianel

  • @killercerys5 Her foot is in front because it is SUPPOSED to be in front. The Russians DO know the different turns in ballet - these are what we prof. dancers call 'lame ducks' which saves using all that French terminology! What sort of teacher(!) do you have who doesn't teach you pose turns en dedan AND en dehor?!

  • I'm doing my grade exams at the moment. I noticed a lot of the music in this is actually in my grade! Ah, Ballet is so beautiful!

  • i used to be a ballet dancer, now i'm doing jazz and contemporary dance. i kind of miss dancing ballet especially after watching this video

  • Great!

  • i love her grace as she preforms :)

  • that was amazing.

  • Just think -32 single fouettes were added over 100 years ago and only because the lead ballerina demanded she show off her (then) amazing ability to perfom them en pointe. That's why in this day and age 32 singles ain't enough as they are deemed 'old hat' BUT 32 singles perfectly danced 'sur place' and with perfect classical arms are actually MORE demanding as the dancer cannot be forgiven one bit for less than pure arms and moving off the spot while doing 'easy' singles.

  • I swear her legs are elastic.

I was told I would never be a ballet dancer because my quads (lower thigh muscles) were too big and that my legs weren't long enough. Funny, that. Just made me more determined.

  • I don't think there is anything more beautiful in the world than Swan Lake... truly... the music brings tears to my eyes, the dancers give me goosebumps, it is utter perfection.

  • @1CasuConsulto thought I was the only one to feel like this haha

  • @10:06 or so... 32 FOUETTES...That is ridiculous! Just watching gives me a headache haha

  • RUSSIA FOR EVER & EVER.

  • Seeing swanlake today! so excited!

this dancer is amazing, she does it so through elegantly..

  • The choreography from 7:31-9:30 is beautifully impeccable! And she does it so gracefully!

  • @MonsoonWinds6 I agree. She works so beautifully with the music as well!

  • прекрасный.

  • enter text here... ive made my decision! men should never wear tights, spandex, or leotards!

  • @sojagirl9 I completely agree. I just don't understand why the men's costumes in ballet have to be so tight.

The dancer here, Igor Zelensky, does do a great job, his jumps are amazing.

The women's costumes don't bother me at all. I could watch Yulia Makhalina all day long. She's fantastic!

  • After taking a few ballet classes....I now truly understand the saying..........a truly good dancer can make intricate steps look easy and easy steps look intricate............by the way.......my muscles are aching and I'm sore all over from the training.......

  • @smallvillefan876 but you aren't going to stop taking class, I hope!

  • @MrKLT1945 I thought about it once......... but after a few days........I realized that I was also in the best shape I've ever been in in a long time becuase of the training...........and for the first time ever......I can even see a few stomach muscles..............so it'll make you happy to know that I will stick with the training........not to mention.....

I can appreciate the beauty and grace it has put into my steps

  • @smallvillefan876 I'm happy! What's more you have made this old retired ballet dancer think seriously about getting back to (gentle) class, I feel guilty every time I find myself slumping!

  • @MrKLT1945 That is awesome news.....I say....go for it.......you have my full support as well......all the best!!

  • @smallvillefan876 Please light a candle for me and pass the muscle rub!

  • @smallvillefan876

I`ve danced even the easiest variations and they look so easy but when you actually do them you realize just how hard everything is! I`m beyond sore! haha I feel your pain!

  • @Magentasmoon LOL nice

  • i'd kill to be her...

  • I googled it, the ballerina playing Odile is Yulia Makhalina!!

  • @StephaniexZhao

No need to google it as the dancers names are in the the titles at the start of the video.

As you say Odette/ Odile is played by Yulia Makhalina and Prince Siegried is Igor Zelensky.

They are both wonderful dancers .

  • @StephaniexZhao

The version of the black swan dance on youtube by Svetlana Zakharova and Robert Bolle is also wonderful and well worth a look at !! These artists are so wonderful that at the end I have to give them a clap even though I am watching them on my pc !! We are so lucky to be able to see and hear so many wonderful things on youtube .....all for no admission fee !!

  • @lovemetu Right? It makes me want to take up ballet!

  • Who are the dancers?

  • Beautiful perfection!!

Only in my dreams, maybe in Heaven I could dance like that.

  • I'm speechless!!!

  • What is the song at 02:50? By the way, this is so incredibly perfect!

  • her legs look never-ending! :O

  • that was just.. oh my god

  • 9:50 - 11:32 : Can't stop watching this!

  • By now at least 10,000 views are mine

  • I think she is the best Odile :) The attitude and nature of Odile's character can be seen from her facial expressions, posture and body lines! Its perfect.

  • i love ballet and this is such perfection <3 <3 <3

  • Omg the fuettes..! Amazing!

  • I'm having trouble grasping the nature of ballet. It doesn't seem like there are many moves. It's more just about the perfection of the body alignment and emotion behind the choreography rather than cramming a bunch of flashy techniques to make it seem "professional". Am I right or totally off?

  • @worshipleader629 That's the trouble with high art - not always easy to understand but the performance belies the bloody hard work full-time for years to produce stunning dancing like this, assuming nature endows one with the right physique! To appreciate the 'Full Monty' you need to get to see a live, top-class production. IInteresteibg as they are, snippets on YT can't convey the wide dance vocabulary for instance. It's art, not sport, so NO effort must be shown!

  • this video is amazing. i myself do ballet and have been doing it since i was 4 years old, i am in love with ballet. recently, i have been watching old nutcracker videos and youtube videos of professionals dancing to try to see if there's anymore i can do and watching their technique. those 5.000 turns she did have inspired me. whoever this is is an amazing ballet dancer.

  • It's looks so easy...

  • he's got a hell of a jump on him and she is just amazing x

  • This is LOVELY . jss lovely .

I get blown away with amazment when I see ths.

  • magnificent !!! there's nothing more to say...

  • I've always wanted to learn ballet like that.

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Can someone respond on my video ?

    xxx

  • I wish I was a ballet dancer..

  • me too!

  • commented on this like 7 million times i love this so much

  • Dat ass

  • After two centuries, the genius of Tchaikovsky is more relevant than ever! It was a gift for both my eyes to my ears and almost twelve minutes my brain has been completely focused on this amazing video! The dancers fantastic!

  • this is beautiful! xxx

  • silly question but does anyone know who she is because she is absolutely fantastic!

  • This seriously reminded me of a classic disney princess animated film.....like sleeping beauty.

  • wow !

  • she looks like she is floating...effortless..

  • EPIC........................ Fail...

  • @chickun1soup80 i'd like to see you do better

  • @btrfan2003 lol umm... I'm a PROFESSIONAL Broadway ballerina sweetheart.

  • @chickun1soup80 WTF? she's freaking perfect. And I really don't think that you could do any better, even being professional and stuff. Who says you're not just some girl from the crowd.

  • she was perfect.....

  • Extremely beautiful

  • lei è magnifica, ispira una serenità olimpica

  • This is the most perfect swan lake ever made.!!! beautiful.. she is the best dancer to perform this act .

  • love everything...the music..stage set....costumes...incredible dancers. They just float! Those leaps are astonishingly airy.

  • It was peerrfect!

  • It is hard to understand what is not to like in this performance. these dancers are incredible. This ballet company, which now the Meriinsky, is the top rated ballet company in the world. It simply doesn't get any better than this. Those who have given it a thumbs down obviously know squat about ballet.

  • Hi. i am composing a Ballet, what you think?

    /watch?v=dwStlJxVcOQ&feature=related

  • wooowoow woooowwwww simplemente MÁGICO! :)

  • Wow! It looks like they are just floating when they do leaps... That was so amazing!

  • this is SO beautiful!

  • One word: perfection.
