Finally! Someone else who thinks Uncharted is overrated! Uncharted strikes me as fun and entertaining, but no more than that. Metal Gear is not only fun and entertaining, but it also stands as the first example I will bring up when discussing why video games are an art form. Uncharted 1 is a great game. Uncharted 2 is one of the best games of all time, right up there with Metal Gear Solid, easily. Uncharted 3 however, is one of the biggest disappointments ever made.
But it's got to be said: Anyone who labels Uncharted as a rip-off of Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones is a grade A dumbshit. Nathan Drake, Lara Croft and Indiana Jones are treasure hunters, similarities over.
@NTom92 I see you ignore the climbing the combat (guns and some limited martial arts/physical combat), going through various natural areas, tombs, etc. Yes, there are differences. But they are quite similar in their main premises and gameplay.
@vgman94 Well obviously, because all that is implemented completely differently. Lara Croft is an expert and she climbs perfectly. Drake is in over his head and is constantly improvising. The environments are just what comes hand in hand with treasure hunting. The games are completely different, especially U2 and 3. Looks like Uncharted has had a big influence on the next TR btw.
@NTom92 There is still climbing and all it means is Lara climbs more efficiently while Drake has a more... Troubled animation with his climbing, similar to Cole from InFamous or Altair/Ezio. It does look that way, although the next TR is said to lean a little more towards survival horror. But to say the games are completely different is like calling yellow and green as different as black and white.

@MrSpiffy566 Whilst I agree that Daxter can be annoyinng, everything else you said is bullshit. For one, Jak 2 wasn't a kids game, it took a darker turn on the franchise. They didn't want to lose too much of their audience though, so they made some childish humor and no blood to keep it a Naughty Dog game. And on the weak characters, characters like Baron Praxis and Torn are some of the most memorable characters that Naughty Dog has made.

The graphics in Uncharted are fantastic...but its a different art style to MGS..which is more gritty, Uncharted 1 specifically was more colourful and lush.
Uncharted 1 I enjoyed, Uncharted 2 was abysmal, a fucking horrific plot that made absoloutley no sense and had more holes than a sieve, horrendously repetetive gameplay (i dont know how anyone could still be enjoying the slog towards the end), terrible characters with no charisma. MGS4 has scored 10/10 in all websites in 2008, it's older so it's better, those cutscenes are the reason why it has scored 10, looks like you didn't play MGS series from the beginning, or at least MGS2, I didn't play it since MG1 on MSX, but I started from MGS1, the story is nice

I like Uncharted, but there's nothing original about it at all. Would it be as highly praised if the graphics weren't as great? And personally, this is just my opinion, but I find the series overlystylised and far too linear.

Games with work put into the moveset or weapon system or whatever and make a good story are what I like, not attempts at drama and mediocre gameplay.

IGN said Crysis 2 on 360 is the best looking game on any console, this means that it beats Killzone 3 on PS3. I've seen Crysis 2 on PS3 & 360 and I own Killzone 3 on PS3 and i'd say Crysis 2 on console has the better graphics.
I own Crysis 2 on PC and it's in a different class, Crysis 2 with DX11 patch, everything maxed on 1600p native with x8AA ect.

Uncharted deserved EVREY great critic score out there . Gameplay was incredible . The graphics are still the best i have ever seen on any system before because of the excelent feed from the GPU to the CPU Naughty dog accomplished for the first time . The story and plot were outstanding and offered more than 10 hours of gameplay for one quick play threw on easy . The game offered great and addicting Multiplayer that offered unlimited replay . And Coop is awsome .So no , Uncharted is NOT overated

Whats this MGS4 vs UC2? MGS is amazing, all the games in the MGS series are utter masterpieces. I have them all. But u are seriously wrong about UC2. Its near perfect, easily one of the best games ever made. Online is nothing to brag abbout but its decent. But the single player is flawless and gameplay is top. Its nothing like tomb raider, which is crap. And whats wrong with a modern indiana jones? Indiana jones hasn't done half the things in UC. There are many unique qualities to the UC series.

Though I absolutely love Uncharted 2 I'm not one of those that think it's the best game ever. That is a matter of taste and nothing else. There are series that are much more overrated like COD and almost every FPSs ever with few exceptions like Half Life. The reason there are so much butthurt douches going "WAAAH WAAH UNCHARTED SUX DIK" is because it's an exclusive and there are way more people that can't play it than if it were multiplatform.

@vgman94 Well obviously, because all that is implemented completely differently. Lara Croft is an expert and she climbs perfectly. Drake is in over his head and is constantly improvising. The environments are just what comes hand in hand with treasure hunting. The games are completely different, especially U2 and 3. Looks like Uncharted has had a big influence on the next TR btw.

It does look that way, although the next TR is said to lean a little more towards survival horror. But to say the games are completely different is like calling yellow and green as different as black and white.

@MrSpiffy566 Whilst I agree that Daxter can be annoyinng, everything else you said is bullshit. For one, Jak 2 wasn't a kids game, it took a darker turn on the franchise. They didn't want to lose too much of their audience though, so they made some childish humor and no blood to keep it a Naughty Dog game. And on the weak characters, characters like Baron Praxis and Torn are some of the most memorable characters that Naughty Dog has made.

MGS is a good game series, scratch that, its an awsome game series. However its not Uncharted. Uncharted is not just Indiana Jones, its not just Tomb Raider, it can be placed in the same genre. However the characters are very different. You also complain at people saying how good the graphics are in Uncharted. I disagree about your opinion. The graphics in Uncharted are fantastic...but its a different art style to MGS..which is more gritty, Uncharted 1 specifically was more colourful and lush.

Uncharted 1 I enjoyed, Uncharted 2 was abysmal, a fucking horrific plot that made absoloutley no sense and had more holes than a sieve, horrendously repetetive gameplay (i dont know how anyone could still be enjoying the slog towards the end), terrible characters with no charisma. Crysis 2 on PS3 & 360 has better graphics than Killzone 3. Also the 360 has a more powerful GPU than the PS3, the PS3 beats the 360 in the other hardware. 360 & PS3 looks almost the same graphically.

Uncharted 3 will use the same engine as Uncharted 2 so it wont be anything new or better. UC 2 & 3 runs at 720p, x2AA, 512x512 textures lol, and the lighing isnt dynamic.

Uncharted deserved EVREY great critic score out there . Gameplay was incredible . The graphics are still the best i have ever seen on any system before because of the excelent feed from the GPU to the CPU Naughty dog accomplished for the first time . The story and plot were outstanding and offered more than 10 hours of gameplay for one quick play threw on easy . The game offered great and addicting Multiplayer that offered unlimited replay . And Coop is awsome .So no , Uncharted is NOT overated

Whats this MGS4 vs UC2? MGS is amazing, all the games in the MGS series are utter masterpieces. I have them all. But u are seriously wrong about UC2. Its near perfect, easily one of the best games ever made. Online is nothing to brag abbout but its decent. But the single player is flawless and gameplay is top. Its nothing like tomb raider, which is crap. And whats wrong with a modern indiana jones? Indiana jones hasn't done half the things in UC. There are many unique qualities to the UC series.

Though I absolutely love Uncharted 2 I'm not one of those that think it's the best game ever. That is a matter of taste and nothing else. There are series that are much more overrated like COD and almost every FPSs ever with few exceptions like Half Life. The reason there are so much butthurt douches going "WAAAH WAAH UNCHARTED SUX DIK" is because it's an exclusive and there are way more people that can't play it than if it were multiplatform.
