Buses in Liverpool routes 74/75/80/86 - Volvo B7TL Thrash

I have done the 996 in Birmingham and Walsall, one of my favourite routes as you get a good view from the top deck. And yes it was a Wright Gemini Volvo B7TL. Don't remember it sounding as good as these in Liverpool though. A good excuse to go back there I suppose to find out.

I don't actually drive them, but I have driven two Bristol VR's. These Volvo B7TL's are probably a decendent from the VR having taken over the Volvo Olympian, which took over the Leyland Olympian, which took over from the VR. Maybe one day I will preserve one of these lovely Volvo B7TL's, I already have my eye on the bestest sounding ones :-)

well it has a trident engine :)

A volvo B7TL sounds nicer then a trident. If you see the air vents on the side at the rear then there is a good clue there. They are pretty similar to Tridents, only nicer. You will have to come to Liverpool and sample these 30 deckers one day to appreciate how nice they sound.

No, was definately a Volvo B7TL, All tridents round here with Arriva have Plaxton President bodywork and there are only 3. I am the chairman of the Volvo B7TL enthusiast egroup.
