I disagree with above comment on Fight Night being a better sim during this time. In the Fight Night series on PS2 there is a serious lack of knockdown animations and 1-punch KO's are very rare. Neither series is a full-on sim but I'd have to say VB takes it hands down. However, Fight Night R4 and FN Champion is a different story...

I traded the 1st game and brought this game yesterday and I have 2 say its an improvement also it was cheap at £1:50 but really it only cost me 60p with the trade of the 1st game..... sorted :)

Goddamn at Date flash-countering you in the corner at 3:11 when you had been just smacking him up for the last 20 seconds...and the ridiculous beating he endures in the corner from 5:06-5:16 before just dancing nimbly out of the way like nothing happened...and the bullshit counter flurry at 6:24 after absorbing huge amounts of punishment on the corner and at the ropes. And the slow count at 8:25 that gives Date two or three extra seconds to get up.

Date has ludicrous hax.

yeah but all anime games don't make the characters look like they're having seizures do they? i know anime games tend to have lower quality but this game in particular has plastic looking textures all over the place. it looks like it was made in by 5 people in 3 weeks.

@Tokamaru97 pff.. honetly, this game is probably closer to real  boxing than the so called boxing sim fight night..its way more technical the collision detection is way better.. aside from the anime style characters, this game is definatly more realistic gameplay wise than any of the fight night games..

No, it's not even close.

I will admit, I like VB2 much better than any other Fight Night game. But Fight Night (Round 2 especially) is much, much more tactical and realistic than this. I actually played both just a few moments ago, and yeah, VB2 is more fun, it's possibly the second most amusing Boxing game ever made, but it's not as realistic as Fight Night. It IS pretty realistic though, which is still impressive.

I wish a next-gen Ippo game would be made.

how i do the special attack with every player, example flickers with mashiba,dempsey roll with ippo?? things like that

Hold down R1 and press one of the punch buttons. Which button combination depends on the individual boxer. Some boxers have multiple specials, while others have none. Ippo starts with 1 special, but will have up to 4 as you progress through the game. Mashiba's flicker jab is not listed as a special, but he can perform it by repeatedly tapping the jab (square) button.

men i have the ntsc version o this game, pherphas you can find it good luck, but i think the fight against Jimmy sisfa is more hard, because he dont have weak point, date have the problem with the movement of his jap but he is more strong than Sisfa in the endurance and power.

This does not seem like hard because the computer is barely throwing any punches when I played him on hard it was nonestop I just beat him by luck.
