1st time heard RK singing live.Excellent ! Actors of 50's were all good singers.Dilip Saab also sang beautifully with Lataji. Only Dilip Kumar has never tried Shammi Style otherwise he has mastered all faces of acting and still actors follow him.Similarly, its easy to find many Mukesh & Kishor Kumar's voice but difficult to find single Voice & expressions like Rafi Saab or nearby.Singers can adopt Rafi Saab's Style & throw but can not come anyway near to him & there will be no 2nd Rafi again.

It is Practically Not Possible to Make a Film Based On Original Ideas as Thousands of Movies are Made All Over the World in So Many Languages . Obviously There will be any Number of Copies Of Films which include Story , Script , Dialogues , Acting , Lyrics ,Choreography and Music . But the Film Maker Deliberately Skips Giving Credit to the Original Maker .

Look at the decent performances given by Balraj Sahni, Rajinder Kumar, Mehmood (was a truely talented actor), Om Prakash, Sunil Dutt and Darmendra. Raj Kumar got away with it because he had fantastic singers (Mukesh) backing him & great lyrists like Hasrat Jaipuri, Sailendra & others.

he was one of the worst so called "actors" in Indian cinema who grossly and shamelessly copied Charlie Chaplin. You need your head tested if you think he was the best.

And so what? Most Bollywood Actors and Movies are copies? He was still a great Actor. Take in account that at that time he made Meaningfull Movies just like Chaplin did but now all you get from Bollywood Movies are copied comedy films from Hollywood or some action filled copies from Hollywood & Korea. And don`t get me started about the repetetive love story Movies that are Boring as Hell.

The lyrists are the true unsung heros of Bollywood. The problem is if you praise low standards and are easily satisfied then you are giving the wrong message, i.e no incentive to improve and not making the actors think about the quality of the work they produce. I for one am not prepared to accept sub standard performances from both Bollywood and world cinema (e.g. Hollywood etc). Of course if you are happy with poor standards (look at most of Bollywood crap)then quality is wasted on you.

I love the Bollywood Music in the Movies but i can`t accept that they steal it from somewhere else and don`t give any credit to the original composers. Anyways i know what you mean by saying Accepting low standard but on the other side you have to count the time aswell. Raj Kapoor for instance made that at the beginning of Bollywood Movies back then it was totally different than today. Today i agree with you totally on that.

that's not true. some songs are copied, but very few. if you look at the vast vast majority of indian film music, it is our own composition.

I am not sure about that. Personally i think alot of the copied songs are really good and i like them also but today i am against the idea of taking songs without giving permission. It is not only Bollywood others are doing the same thing and there should be laws to stop them. And just a small list of the songs which were copied you can find them on the itwofs page and thank god these kind of educational sites are growing so that hopefully the composers will stop that.

i hope so too. but i stick by what i said earlier. the majority of those copied have been in the 80s and 90s, by ppl like nadeem-shravan, anu malik, etc.

our classical compositions, and most compositions until abt 1985, had been our own. that's what i think, anyway.
