OMG! My Wii is doing this same stupid thing. It won't even go to WiiConnect24. I can't hook it back up to the internet. Whenever I select ANY of the internet based channels, it freezes. Then I have to hold the power button for about 5 seconds to get it to shut off. Nintendo seems clueless about this sort of problem when I e-mailed them (then again, Nintendo's consumer service representatives ALWAYS act clueless).

But when my Wii doesn't show any picture on screen, it just stays black. Every internet based channel (including my Virtual Console games) got corrupted. Does the Internet Channel cause this? Is it a virus from surfing the web? I formatted my Wii's System memory, and it STILL didn't fix the problem. All I did was lose all of my saved games.

@spirol20 I will have to break the news to you. You have the BSoD (Black Screen of Death) Due to a application error which has mad your NAND go bad. this means your wii isn't bricked but broken. Try taking your main plug out and back in. I can't help you here. You might need to take it to Nintendo, which they may not help you if you have homebrew on your wii. Or to wherever you bought it. Or you might need to buy a new wii :(

I wish there was a CD to reformat the wii. No, I'm not talking about "Bootmii" or the "Format" tool in the wii. I'm talking about a CD that will pretty much erase EVERYTHING off the wii then install the Wii's OS with the patch you bought it from. As in a Factory Reformat.

If you use bootloader search google for bootloader recovery cd i wont give any links for obivous reasons. you will only need this if you IOS install it but that method has some advantages it's there all the time.

Save is risky because if you look at it is completely exposed and those electronics could get damaged easily.

OK...I use a gamecube controller to access the Recovery Mode....My custormers Wii, it said 3.1USA on the lower right screen...I put in the Animal Crossing disc, it stayed at 3.1USA for a good 1-2 minutes, then it dissapeared, so I turned it off then turned it back on....Black SCREEN

so I turned it off then on To ACCESS the Recovery Menu...now it said 3.3USA

take a game cube controller and put it into port 4. Press all four buttons on the dpad(you will need to take controller apart) while booting up. Its the same as savemii

@samatucci i suggest you not use the mod chip but instead use the Homebrew way of downloading games, you wont get bricked at all and you cant get banned on wi-fi (unless you use cheats or modify the data) thats what i use and i like it a lot

Dude, the NAND can change, it's happened to me, I had to reconstruct my system menu boot order in order to boot the system menu. But making NAND backups at every install of cIOS or IOS modifications is vital.

1. backup made with different version of bootmii

2. backup is not complete, (i tried using a 512MB stick once for backups and it lost several MB's due to the formatting)

3. you're problem isn't related to flash, hardware perhaps

4. you modded so much that you ****ed something critical

No it wasn't actually haha I told them i broke it on a flight to oregan but I'm glad they fixed it and they even said that it would fix it for free because I had told them I didn't have the money and they said fine, don't worry about it.
