  • You always have such good taste when it comes to female artists. I checked out Lydia Lunch's poetry and music ...she rocks. Her work is edgy and dark and totally brilliant. She reminds me of a young Patti Smith, my favourite beat poet.

    Thanks for another fine read.

  • you did a lydia lunch covere! howcome you didnt tell me about this one! my personal fave is alsow DEAR WHORES she is one of the only poet's that can curs in a poem and still be creative.

  • ugh i hate when i think im all cool and im not ...damn i knew it was Laurie anderson too..Laurie Anderson Advantgarde poet became famous in the 8os see i know anyway thats my story and im taking it to my grave

  • did you know Lydia and Loe Reed got Married Imagine some of their conversations

  • Becca! Do I have to move BACK there to get you up to speed on things? "On April 12, 2008, Lou Reed married longtime companion Laurie Anderson in a private ceremony in Boulder, Colorado" - from Wikipedia... tsk tsk. But those must be some killer conversations.... Thanks for the comment.

    Brat :p

  • Powerful piece, & fine reading, David.

    5*

  • Great reading, as always. My first exposure to Lydia Lunch

  • Wow, i've been meaning to get into more of her poetry. This really got me into it.

Great performance of such heavy text.

  • hmmm....you're a weird guy.. I like it

  • religion is bullshit by the way .. get a brain ..think about it a little harder and you may figure out..todays youth are evolving(pun intended)from the clouds and beasts bullshit cuz its ridiculous.this crap was written by fools who not long before thought that lightning was god.also time to update this version of the bible cuz you stupid asses thought gays were going to hell.kinda makes yas look like fools. i guess science makes you a laugh and a half too.life is great andyourgodcansuckshit

  • isnt lydia lunch a feminist?? yes ,yes she is..and ms lunch todays male is all about equall rights and will not be blamed for what our forefathers did wrong. so all you feminists please live in the present and fight for whats right.your no better than us and we're no worse than you.feminism will never ,ever fly.we are beyond that.cant beleive youd put this shit on your sons....ignorant..

  • Were you talking to your mom at the beginning?

  • rowsdowersavsus: Hee hee... no, if you listen close I say "Mone" - my blue rabbit with jet black hair that is in some of my videos - who - btw - is much cooler than bloatedgoat's rabbit she just made a video of!

(I'm quite mad you know - I actually take all of this stuff quite seriously). Peace out!

  • Very good :-)

  • rozeboosje: thank you my fine fellow.

  • greatness! thanks for posting this.. really! i love her pessimism and negativity.. some people aren't all hearts and rainbows... thank god i am not alone!!

    great job!!

  • jennaow: thanks a lot - that means a lot coming from another Lydia fan like you. I like your channel a lot; you strike me as someone that cares deeply about things...

  • thank!! u are sweet! and i actually saw lydia lunch live two weeks ago! she was pretty intense!! i liked her a lot, great attitude!

  • jennaow: you SAW her two weeks ago? I am so jealous! I've got to check her tour schedule! Actually, you've got an interesting personality yourself - I'd like to see how YOU deliver a poem...

  • even though I couldn't identify with this poems pessimistic feel. I cannot deny that you did it justice.

  • windcu: Thanks - now if I just had YOUR voice! Actually, I'd just be happy if I could carry a tune... ;)

  • a tad bit pessimistic

  • Agila1: Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Believe it or not - this is one of Lydia's less pessimistic poems! She does write about the dark side - she's not for everyone - but definitely wears her heart on her sleeve. She wrote me a really nice postcard once & I've talked to one of her managers that said in real life she is a sweetheart!

  • Okay then the poem is cool! XD

  • Agila1: It's too cool for school ;p - nah... that would actually be YOU... thanx again for commenting!

  • GREAT reading. Great delivery. You did it justice, David.

  • janeczka: Thanks... I adore Lydia's work so much that I keep wanting to re-do this video... I feel like I could never really do her justice...

  • wow... thank you... great reading...

"It's all about memory running backwards"

"Oh yeah were really all in it together

I mean we're all fucking stuck"

    wow...

  • blastedgoat: Thank you. But I decided my rabbit is cooler than your rabbit after all ;)

(That video you just made was so cool)

  • blastedgoat: PS: ANYONE READING THIS - CLICK ON BLASTEDGOAT - SHE IS A REALLY GOOD WRITER!!!!!!!!! (but my rabbit is still cooler than hers!)

  • We are all entitled to our opinions... :)

I am willing to give your rabbit a chance, after all you are one of the nicest people I have met on youtube... and come to think of it I've never met a rabbit I didn't like!

  • Just had a listen to some of Lydia's work - wow! She definitely has spoken word down to an artform - such power in her words and reading. Thanks for introducing me to her work =)

  • Raven: You are not so bad in the spoken word department yourself Jen - you make it look so easy - THAT'S talent.

  • Thank you David! =)

  • Well read.

You've got that sick psychopathic voice down to an art.

    *prepares for attack*

  • NearNothing: When you've been married as many times as I have - the voice comes naturally... ;)

  • The world would be a sadder place without you.

  • you've earned that voice. It is refreshing to hear you OWN it !!!!! hehehe....man, that was classic !

  • I could never step into that skin - it would be more than I could bear. But yes, we are all fucking stuck. I see videos of her linked.....I must go check out.

  • zitzon: thanks for taking the time to comment. If you ever find yourself becoming a big Lydia fan - pm me and I'll tell you about some of the better works of hers to start out with.

  • "Because we have so much eye candy and mind candy, spending so much time trying to pay the rent, all of this conspires to keep us from thinking too hard or taking action from that. Our time is stolen. So much of our daily life is stolen." L. Lunch

  • mrblisterfist: Somehow I am not surprised that YOU know who Lydia is! Good taste my man...

  • powerful words... thanks for the links and the inspiration.

  • heather: I could never pay back the inspiration you have given me with your videos on atheism & religion - your words have helped me change the way I look at the world.

  • I bet you say that to all the girls. :)

  • I love DEAR WHORES the best.

    Fantastic job

  • thinkpinkmore: I could never scream that one like she does - ha ha... HEY... I JUST got done posting two poems... um... aren't you supposed to... er... you know... (nudge nudge - wink wink)... don't MAKE ME send my blue rabbit after you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thinkmorepink: THANK YOU for the video responses on both poems today! Anyone reading this should check out pink's stuff - it's great.

  • Nice tribute, I'll be sure to check her out. You recite the words quite eloquently too, thumbs up to that! =]

  • ParanoidAsian: Thanks for the kind words. I'll have to check your channel again - you've got the kind of personality where I bet you could really deliver a poem well... (hmmm... I think Claire has converted me into the ParanoidAsian fan club - ha ha)...
