  • hey would anyone know how much would a beginner Rubab cost? and any teachers in Delhi?

  • It sounds really nice though he´s using a sarod technique on rabab, rabab technique is totally different

  • Pilu sounds very good on a rabab - shabash

  • very inspiring. in the tradition of ustad mohd umar of afghanistan if i am right.

  • His son's name is Imran, not Irfan. I wonder how well the original poster knows him.

  • are we talking about an apartment or a human being?what is this nonense about "matching interiors?"

  • yes i agree. even the colour of his kurta matches the walls. as does the wood of the rabab. so what mr anad-foundation bellyaching about?

and how about a bit more than 1 min and 45 secs of rabab...

  • what a great sounding rabab!!! it is perfectly tuned! great playing too!

  • amazing ji... keep the videos coming.. The resonance of the rebab is amazing

  • I did not understand what you meant by "Gulfam is an interesting talent but a matched interior would do him so much more good." I was present at the live concert you mention (incidentally, it was held at Jamia Hamdard, not Jamia Millia, and was presided over by Prof. S Ausaf Ali, not S Ali). I am not qualified to comment on his Rabab pieces, but his Sarod recital bespoke both technical virtuosity as well as a thorough grasp over the aesthetics of Bihag.

  • Thanks, the Univ's name has since been corrected.

I agree that he is quite a virtuoso in his playing of both the folk rabab and sarod.
