  • @jedigator leaf licker

  • here a tip on how to fillet walleye first you start at the buterflys(the 4 fins that look like a butterfly) and cut dow toward the tail 40* angle and cut all the way to the tail (My fave part of the walleye the cheeks and you can also eat the butterflys!) hope this helped! :)

  • not a very good day but good video were can you buy that batter

  • LOL! I think the fish froze when it got out the water.....

  • I usually put the fillets in the batter first and then into the breading, nice job though it came out nice. Oh and salut Minnesota Twins hat.

  • lmao that sunny is funny lol haha well i thought in mn the walleye fishing season is already over?

  • @zajdabneeg this video is from December 2006

  • nice video,good recipe

  • i caught A 4LB TROUT IN 3FT OF WATER

  • wow i just read some of the past messages ... there is nothing wrong with eating your catch... i have seen things that bother me many of times ... people fishing for walleye and catching rock-bass then leaving the rockbass to suffocate and essentially leave them there outside there boat. Nothing wrong with eating your catch (as long as you kill it quickly and cook it that night.

  • Yes 2 or 3 pounder are the best . I caught a few walleye 7 to 9 pounds while the fight was better the fish itself was more difficult to fillet as the bones had been worn with age .

also i know walleye doesnt have much smell, but i guess im a stinky guy lol i like to eat my fish plain with a tiny bit of lemon ... so although i love walleye, I like eating bass. I tried to eat a pike but the bones where just too many .

  • That fish is a good eater. i'd say 1.5 to 2 lbs

  • First of all you sould kill it and over the blod out. After that you can make yours slide system not like in this video!!!!!

  • shut up you dumb pussies, there's millions of wall eye, thats why you can eat them i eat all the ones i catch faggots.

  • yeah.... so uhhhh... you guys are basically retarded...

  • learn2fillet

  • u should have released it

  • thanks, never occured to me that releasing it would be a possibility

  • lol

  • I wouldn't cut the stomach. contaminates the meat.

  • Or check the stomach after filleting. It does have some good info on what the fish has been eating and what kind of lure to use the next day.

  • Well, sure. After the fillets are in the fryer have a look inside. in fact, thats what i did with the smallie i caught today.

  • Nice video. I like it.

  • god youtubers bitch alot your not doin this right your not doin that right...obviuosly theres more than one way of doin everything...cockbags

nice fish by the way looks sooo good

  • I agree completely lol. it seems no matter how you fish, to somebody else you are doing something wrong.

  • lol i no right its kinda stupid sometimes

  • why would you ever fillet a fish like that u have no meat from it by the size of those fillets???

  • u get meat

not as much but its fast and easy

  • o ur a jackass i fillet all my fish like that and i get all the meat

  • thats not how to fillet it properly

  • there is no proper way

its like sayin it its not casting properly, van be done in diffrent ways

  • my point was that america is much much more densly populated than canada...so much so that canadians idea of the middle of nowhere is almost always alot different than an americans....i have been to duluth and area and minniappolos dozens of times ........u woodnt consider that in the middle of nowhere if u came hunting or fighing iaround my hometown in northern ontario....drive an our down a 1 lane dirt road then hike a cupple klicks into the woods to a spec lake with no human evidence

  • r u sure about that?

  • what r u guys using as bait or lure?

  • Why does the sound die at 1:39?

  • Someone was using some strong language haha

  • "nice sharp knife here bobby"......"is it?"......."no."............hahahah man i can never get enough of minnesota sarcasm.

  • how are you in the middle of nowhere there is a concrete bridge above the river......clearly an american thing to say

  • clearly your a douche bag

  • we catch'em on an even smaller river in northern WI.....i'll have to post a vid on the opener this year. we never thought the held much for game fish, but i have caught a brown trout...walleye and small mouth bass on it.....so there's alot to say for small rivers.....keep up the good work

  • lol 2:06 to 2:13.OUCH OUCH OUCH!!! IT HURTS!!!!

  • Thats good eating

  • "Nice sharp knife you got here Bobby."

    "Is it?"

    "No."

  • For some reason, oil seems to be more calm at 350 than at 250. I don't know why. Or I got something messed up. But it's about right. Fried fish one day with too low a heat, wasn't good.

  • i gald to see you showed us how to filet it at the end

  • Yea, thats the best way to fillet wallleye! Good job

  • what town is shell rock river in? Is it near Rochester MN?

  • froboy GOOD EATING FISH. now am hungry

  • Nice video Ive never caught walleye before do they really taste that good?

  • my favorite kind of fish. It's got to be fresh not store bought junk.

Biggest Walleye I've coughten was a 8LB 31inch.... I was very proud lol.... (ice fishing)

  • im going fishing for walleye soon not sure when or where and i cant wait to

  • those are some nice cooked walleye fillets

  • nice fish guys and great vid i live in northern minnesota and ill tell yo what there are walleyes up the ass here its so much fun to go out and catch a limmet of them and they do tast great

  • i got a 20in sauger that had 2 shiners in him.. they were pretty fresh too.

  • GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY KITCHEN!!!!!

Just kidding, my kitchen looks like that. Screw shorelunch.

Try to use flour with ALOT of garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper. Dry the fillets, roll them in the flour mix,dip them in egg/milk mixture, and then cover them in finely crushed corn flakes. Fry them in vegetable oil and that is what real fish tastes like. Blows the doors off of Shorelunch...

  • lol you don't have to gut it before u fillet it?

  • Cool vid guys. From the river to the stove to the stomach. =]

  • Awesome guys! I fish the south sask river, there are some nice walleye there!

  • what do you use for walleye? and do they taste good?, thanks

  • They taste awesome! just like lobster. You can catch them on various baits. My favorites are Rapala husky jerks, and jigs with plastics. Live bait like minnows and nightcrawlers work too. Really depends on when and where you are fishing. Where are you thinkin of fishing

  • the manasquan reservior. in new jersey. this lake is the top 5 of the best bass lakes in new jersey. they have tiger musky, bass, walleye, pickerel, crappie, perch, and sunnies. i catch bass and pickerel all of the time. i use fake frogs. i want to catch a walleye though. they are cool looking fish. my goal is to catch a tiger musky.. thanks for the advice and if i catch any i will definitely eat them. thanks

  • omfg...we have tons of walleye up here, but we are never allowed to keep em..i catch at least 10 everytime i go fishing and i'm o ly allowed to keep the pike...damnit

  • Oh yeah that blows. where is it you live?

  • i live in alberta canada, and the regs are so strict here...they might as well call it "the peoples fishing republic of alberta"

  • looks cold, but fun!

  • Good video, WALLEYE!

  • Yeah on trout lake next to vermillion

  • I'm pretty sure the first fish wasn't a walleye, but, either a sauger or saugeye. It was a nice vid though.

  • there was only one fish caught that day and Im 100percent positive it was a walleye, see the white tip?

  • Good vid guys. Definitely a Walleye. Just beer in that batter? Like beer and flour?

  • I guess your right. u were there and i wasn't anyways so i guess u know more about than me

  • yea my biggest was a 28 inch pickerel or walleye if ur american and my dad got a 31 incher so yea.. we were using lindy rigs with a weight and a float and a red hook with a leech at about 30-40 feet

  • ok my fist question is do they live in ponds too? and whats the best bait/ lure

  • Have you tried using rice krispies as batter? Used that on the walleye we caught from trout lake this past week in Northern Minnesota.

  • trout lake next to lake vermillion?

  • screw beer you need some bourben that gives it a little kick

  • Looked good just have to switch yo beer to "Miller High Life"

  • fa cagare

  • good job on cleaning but there is a much easier way bro.

  • thanks. hows that

  • start almost just behind the fin and cut about a 45 like you did but, you dont turn you let the knife to the work and when you going just finish to the tale it takes like a minute less each side

  • Pulaski lake in buffalo minnesota has some hugies!just the other day we caught a 12 pounder and a 10 ponder almost back to back!

  • nothin better than a fresh walley caught in cold water

  • excellent all the way through great eats

  • Good job guys....especially the beer batter, love the Coors Light!

  • We fish the shell Rock near waverly- Shell Rock Iowa Lots of smallies, Some walleyes

  • i dont cook my fish in batter i just gut it etc then cover it in corn meal salt pepper and throw it in the grease..simple but ver tasty

  • This is great fishing area.Soon it will warm up around here and enjoy crushing some fish again.

More people should get to these areas,as the fish are not overfished, but leave your pollution and issues in the big city.

    Turbosetman

  • Well, I am coming to fish there but I have my pollution and issues right here in a plano tackle box...I'm bringing them up there. The pollution sorta creeps out of the box in wisps but the issues stay put. They are sold issues. I hope I am okay. Oh, if I fart is that an issue or pollution? Just want to know...

  • i'd say you have some issues

  • Walleye is the Lobster of fresh water fish...good eats...

  • everything was great untill the batter , im a brit and i cant stand batter nor can many others , but sound u were the buisness that day,6 pound tho sounds small, why not target pike to 50 pound or like our zander to 21 pound, then u got some food,tp boys tho and fair play for the vid 9/10 on account of the batter

  • Nice!!!!!!!

  • out of middle fo nowhere lol theres a brdige behind him great catch though and nice vid

  • i want to know where that is

  • omg you didnt save me some?

  • I like fish.

  • walleye is i think. THE BEST freshwater fish. especially in minnesota where i live.

  • This is a great video. Thank you very much. I went out today and caught my first three keeper walleye, which i took home and followed your instructions to filleting and cooking it, and it was delicious. Thank you!

  • Walleye are great fish. Wish we had more of them down here in texas.

  • The Walleye looks very much like the Zander here in the UK. I guess they taste the same (Zander is meant to be very good eating!). I like the idea of cutting the flesh into 'Goujons'(think thats how you spell it), although deep frying maybe to unhealthy for my missus! LOL. Great vid tho, cheers

  • at least u guys didnt kill it for fun, imean , u ate it. cool video

  • This is a great video guys, good job!!!

  • sweet video!

  • Awesome. I clean fish the same way except i dont put that cut under the fish like you do in the beginning. I live in moorhead, minnesota but fish in Otter Tail County area lakes. And as far as cooking ive put beer in the batter before and its pretty good.
