Wow. This is the best frisbee video I've seen. I'm currently working on training my dogs to catch discs but geez, starting them at five years old just wasn't the best idea!
I'm an American that moved to Turkey last month. I miss dog sports (I did 11 sports in the U.S.) and have been watching your discdog videos over and over. I love the Japanese style--so technical and beautifully choreographed. I'm 43 and LOVE the music you chose, by the way. :-) Keep em' coming!
That was awesome. I saw a few of Japans' teams. They are great! I'm teaching my dog to do this. Her names' Weeza. She's a doberman pinscher and she LOVES frisbees. I have another dog, Buck, he's a Rhodesian Ridgeback and lab mix. Him and Weeza make a good team. Lol they're like Ebony and Ivory.
hy waz...i want start to do this with my energetic dogs . i tried with my friisbee but i think is to big for him, after 2 3 time he prefer to play with ball. what brand and size of disk i have to buy for a dog big like cookeer and there are same trik for make it more easy...
I do this with my high energy girl and she hated the frisbee at first. I think it was a bit hard for her mouth. I switched to a fabric disc to "get her used to it", and started tricks. After that I slowly worked in regular discs. I went through a few fabric ones but it was WELL WORTH IT!!
I want to teach my pup when she is bigger to frisbee. She is a frenchton. Boston terrier/french bulldog. Is she going to be to small? Do they have to be a certian size? She will grow to be 12-25 LBS?
I heard Japan had some pretty good teams, but damn! I'm not sure what I was more impressed with, the dogs, are some of the throws...anyone know who made the music?
Hi,great clip and teams! Love it! Last weekend I saw them live, 130 km away from my hometown, in the netherlands and had the luck to take part at an 1 hour workshop. It was really great! They are very nice and helpful people! I played with Fine an BC to learn multiples because my dog Duke was tired. And I´ve a signed frisbee.... oh man...that was a very nice day! I taped a lot of footage and when the video is ready I´ll send it as response, o.k.?
Great video. This is what disc dogging should look like. This style is too rare here in the US, and Japan has set the tone for the future style of our sport judging by this video. Thanks for making it.
i really want to teach my dog how to play frisbee but my dog hides all my frisbee, i don't know if i'm going to see them again T_T

You know, I was trying to do this things with my Golden, but... can he be a frisbee dog? I think he is quite heavy.

Really really nice video.. !! just 2 questions..
1) Can a Shih Tzu do this kind of things.. or the breed is too small for it ?!
2) Can you tell me the name of the song ?!
losdarocha 4 years ago
Yes a Shih Tzu can do this disc. It will need to have prey drive, you can train prey drive into most dogs.
