The reason "Macs can't get viruses" is because no one wants to spend their time designing a virus for a computer that 10% of people use. Macs are not god computers.
macs are more for artistic use - you'll see macs in all the film editing places, all the music making areas, and such
macs aren't really built for word processing like PC's are. and macs are expensive, not a lot fo people can afford them, so they buy PC's instead
it all depends on what you're going to use your computer for, a graphic designer will think that PC's are crap, whereas a banker will think macs are crap generally - because they're made for different purposes

I use both a pc and a mac at work. I am more accustomed to the pc and that may make me a bit bias, but there are so many things I absolutely hate about the mac. 1. I can only resize windows on the bottum right corner. 2. programs will just shut down spontaniously. 3. I can't change what happens when I close the lid. 4. I can't cut and paste. 5. I can't get the mouse pointer speed the way I want it. If someone can explain to me how I can remedy some of these things, please do so.
look, I myself prefer PC's but both PC and Mac have both Pros and Cons to each, Macs are excellent for design purposes, and are better suited to say a magazine company then a PC, but a PC is better for Office use, esp. spread sheets, and can be bought cheap for low level processing that might be required in say a warehouse or office. In the end it all boils down to personal needs and tastes, if you want to buy a Mac, then Buy one, if you want a PC, then Buy a PC.

I changed to mac last year and Ive not looked back. Macs are reliable, fast, easy to use, great to look at, fun and most of all great for my business. You know why? Because only 3% of the computer world has a mac. Hackers aren't making viruses for macs, because the virus would affect more if it were for PCs. Well im not a trednyfag as you so nicely put it. I have no care about looking pretty as my macbook is for work. It is good for drawing/editing images and video but other things it is good at is loading programs, not crashing, taking seconds rather then hours to install large programs, quick load up from sleep, very good screen and mobile me works very well and keeps all of my employees updated with contacts, emails, diary dates and notes to their iphones and their macbooks.

As far as I know, Apple has never made a claim that gaming on a Mac is "better"; so don't even go there.
And in any case, Macs CAN play PC games. That's where bootcamp / parallels come in.

I use both a pc and a mac at work. I am more accustomed to the pc and that may make me a bit bias, but there are so many things I absolutely hate about the mac. 1. I can only resize windows on the bottum right corner. 2. programs will just shut down spontaniously. 3. I can't change what happens when I close the lid. 4. I can't cut and paste. 5. I can't get the mouse pointer speed the way I want it. If someone can explain to me how I can remedy some of these things, please do so.

1. I personally hate resizing from any side but if that's your thing check out a program called Zooom/2
2. Please be more clear. My programs rarely, if ever, up and "shut down" spontaneously
3. Install the freeware InsomniaX to control your Mac's sleep-mode.
4. Considering Microsoft stole the exact shortcut keys for this feature from Apple: Try Apple-X and Apple-C
5. System Preferences: Keyboard & Mouse/Trackpad to adjust tracking speed

look, I myself prefer PC's but both PC and Mac have both Pros and Cons to each, Macs are excellent for design purposes, and are better suited to say a magazine company then a PC, but a PC is better for Office use, esp. spread sheets, and can be bought cheap for low level processing that might be required in say a warehouse or office. In the end it all boils down to personal needs and tastes, if you want to buy a Mac, then Buy one, if you want a PC, then Buy a PC.

You guys are all a bit fucking sad. These adverts are right. I used windows based pcs for many years and had to learn a hell of a lot to keep it working. I changed to mac last year and Ive not looked back. Macs are reliable, fast, easy to use, great to look at, fun and most of all great for my business. I have had my mac for nearly 6 months and its not crashed a sinlge time!

You know why? Because only 3% of the computer world has a mac. Hackers aren't making viruses for macs, because the virus would affect more if it were for PCs. I'm not saying either is better, both are great in there own way. I've owned both, but personally, I prefer PC. I like my technology to do what I want it to do and full stop. I don't need shiny plastic, glitter, and pretentious little animations while i'm working/playing/entertaining. But hey, we're all different...

No actually, I'm 20 years old and haven't 'joined the war'. I was simply saying that I PERSONALLY prefer PC, my machine was expensive and is looked after, never crashed, never needed maintenance from an outside source. Very reliable. The mac I used was equally good, yet too pretentious for my liking. I fell it's more of a fashion accessory than an actual piece of technology. This is my opinion and I was merely stating it. Oh and calling someone gay? Wow, you must be a very mature person, bravo!

Well im not a trednyfag as you so nicely put it. I have no care about looking pretty as my macbook is for work. It is good for drawing/editing images and video but other things it is good at is loading programs, not crashing, taking seconds rather then hours to install large programs, quick load up from sleep, very good screen and mobile me works very well and keeps all of my employees updated with contacts, emails, diary dates and notes to their iphones and their macbooks.

It's just I see a lot more Macs in relation to PC commercials. Regardless of how much it takes to produce these commercials, there is more commitment by Macs and therefore more ad money spent on TV. It could mean nothing, but then again, it could mean that Macs are struggling to win over PC users.
