  • By far the best track on this album, quite likely DT's best track in their career and probably one of my favourite songs ever.

  • 7:10 forms the basis for the theme of Opeth's Hessian Peel track from Watershed.

  • man these guys rock... every song is so fricken good and different than the last..... even each song in the suite is different but has a gentle reminder of the overall theme....

  • CHECK MY COVER OF THIS SONG! here in my channel! :)

  • It takes a lot of balls to admit one has an addiction, whether it's alcohol, drugs or anything you can think of. The 31,000+ hits here are people that have a clue what Portnoy went through or they can relate. This is a very epic track and can get to your emotions if not prepared to listen. Regret is very tough to deal with when you let the bottle rule your life. Before a hater begins hating on this, listen to it carefully and with thought.

  • 31089 views while other pop shit get millions..........Dream Theater is not for everyone......Special music is for special people ;)

  • "The truth is the truth, so all you can do is live with it." Who says that?

  • @nobolettu Corey Taylor my friend.

  • @purk12 Thanks!

  • Just an awesome solo

  • most epic songs from DT

    octavarium

    SDOIT

    repentance

    pull me under

    a change of seasons

  • @SebaChannel I would say;

    A Change of Seasons (check)

    The Glass Prison

    Bridges in The Sky

    The Count of Tuscany

    Scarred

That's my 5. Though I haven't worked out the order for me. ;-)

  • @SebaChannel liberum veto.... most epic songs from DT are all.. :)

  • My favorite song from DT. It is so chill, ambient, epic, deep, beautiful. There is nothing wrong about this song.

  • So what's the difference between the song "This Dying Soul" from Train of Thought, and this song?

  • @hoesdontpreciate they just start the same. different lyrics and all that jazz.

  • Let me set the debate between which drummer is best for Dream Theater.

I honestly think Mike is better...*trollface*

  • Why does this song remind me so much of Opeth

  • @whplague i know what you mean. Has a surreal sort of side like Opeth. Which is a good thing!

  • OH MY GOD THAT SOLO IS EPIC. People claim 90's Petrucci is more epic than todays Petrucci. In my opinion, everything he touches turns to gold, and the year he does it in doesn't really matter because IT'S ALL FREAKIN' EPIC!!!

  • Dream Portnoy Supergroup

    Corey Taylor- lead vocals

Steve Vai and Joe Satriani- guitars

    Dave Ellefson- bass

    Mike Portnoy- drums

  • Daniel Gildenlöw is great! ;>

  • i just noticed the ear in the lemonade XD

  • Chickenshit

  • was it intentional for the beginning to be like their song This Dying Soul?

  • @Jonathansernel1 yes, this is part of the 12 step suite, so is The Dying Soul

  • 10:38 - 10:42 Protip: "The truth is the truth, so all you can do is liv-"

  • invited friends and fellow musicians Mikael Åkerfeldt, Jon Anderson, David Ellefson, Daniel Gildenlöw, Steve Hogarth, Chris Jericho, Neal Morse, Joe Satriani, Corey Taylor, Steve Vai, and Steven Wilson to record spoken apologies, regrets, and sorrows of their own..

  • Portnoy wrote "Repentance" as the fourth part of his Twelve-step Suite, a collection of songs from various Dream Theater albums which revolve around his journey through Alcoholics Anonymous. The song discusses steps eight and nine of the process, which deal with making a list of people whom one has wronged and, if possible, making direct amends with them. Portnoy, who as of 2007 had been sober for 7½ years,

  • there is an ear in the lemonade glass. am i the only one who realized that.

  • Sometimes you got to be strong when you thing is too late ;D:D:D:D:D <3

  • The 12 step suite is the best invention in the history of the universe

  • @BloodHarvest21 The creator of alcoholics anonymous had often said that LSD is a natural and inevitable cure for alcoholism. So I wouldn't be so sure...

  • 4:35 - 5:45 - and haters must go to hell

  • thats one picnic gone horribly awry

  • Sometimes you've got to be wrong

    And learn the hard way

Sometimes you've got to be strong

When you think it's too late

    SO fuking true.

  • i love this song

  • labrie si tiene buena voz ... pero en los temas pesados de Dream theater no encaja mucho .

  • what a sooong!!! looove it!!!!!!

  • Where did you get the picture? :o

    and don't forget

SUPPORT THE BAND BUY THE ALBUM! :)

  • Wait, ALL of those guys did guest vocals??!!??!!

well im not the biggest fan of Corey Taylor...xD

Mikael Arkerfeldt is God though, and Petrucci is Jesus c:

  • Anyone know why there is an ear in the lemonade?

  • @DustinShaneYounce John Petrucci's intense shredding made someones ear fall off into the lemonade!

  • sometimes you ve gottaa be wrong!!! and learn the hard way........

  • 7:24 sounds very Opeth-ish. Kinda like the part from master apprentices

  • Nice, Steps 8th and 9th are pretty hard, but with overwhelming relief afterwards. And the Promises in the song... good one, really lovely, thanks for that DT.

  • hello mirror so glad to see you my friend its been a while 01:13

  • I swear to god that's Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree at the start singing

  • love the song art pic in the video!

  • I've been listen to Dream Theater for 2 years and Opeth for 1 year and I noticed this song is like, really similar to the sound of Opeth, and it even has Mikael Akerfeldt in it, which is even cooler. In my opinion, this could have been Dream Theater's take on Opeth, and their take, on showing that they could probably cover ANY band.

  • never realized these were the guys who did the guest vocals in this song?!? Corey Taylor

    Steve Vai

    Chris Jericho

    David Ellefson

    Steve Hogarth Joe Satriani

    Mikael Åkerfeldt

    Steven Wilson

    Jon Anderson

    Neal Morse

  • He has something in his voice...Can you hear the cry inside his voice ?

  • He has something in his voice...Can you hear the cry inside his voice ?

  • One of DT's best. Definitely one of the best of all times when you consider the lyrics as well. Here's the recipe for a better life. It sounds so simple. The length of the song is just fine, with or without the Ahhhhs, which underline an important message. I don't understand how the one Thumbs-Down person got lost on this page when in truth he must have been looking for Hannah Montana.

  • Love this Suite of songs but of course we all know Metropolis Part 2 is the best :)

  • @Corydon1976

    best album ever my friend!!

    Billboard 200:

  • finally. DREAM THEATER REPENTANCE! thanks for uploading.

  • @Harlequinslullaby

    your welcome my friend! :)

  • Hell Yeah! great job, great David "Junior" Ellefson

  • Great tune! They could have shortened it a bit at the end with all the Ahhhhs...but still, a chilling, mellow change of pace in Mike's AA suite.

  • @Ytsebadd

True. The ending could have been defnitely shortened

  • @Ytsebadd Are you f*cking kidding me?, the 'ahhhhs' are the most experimental part in this song. (Sorry my english, i'm chilean)
