The band is recovering from hurricane Katrina in which we lost everything. I am so proud to see Mr. Hamp doctrine live on in the lives of these young men. St Aug will survive because of the alumni that love Mr Hamp so much that they continue to support the school financially. St Aug dominated from 1952 - 2005, show me another college or High School that can match our record. We desegregated Mardi Gras and was the first band to play for the New Orleans Saints at half time. Well, I was actually in The St. Augustine Marching 100 for the two last st aug vs kennedy games (1997-1998, class of '98 and 1998-1999, class of '99) in neither of those games did the K "cut through" anything we played. We give Kennedy their props for being who they are, but in no way will you even allow yourself to compare Kennedy to St. Aug. Come back to earth...angel! As long as there are people who graduated in the early 90's that were still marching in the band at Kennedy during the LATE 90's, you cant tell me nothing. When you find footage of Kennedy in the Rose Bowl, or Super Bowl, or marching for any Pope...then you come back and talk to the Purple Nation.
