You guys are both right. We DID kick Nazi ass. While Russia was focused on them longer, and caused more casualties, the Germans could have easily regrouped through western Europe after pulling out of the northern sections. The problem was they weren't used to fighting in the same conditions as the Russians. America bitchslapped them back east. So in truth, BOTH sides kick Nazi ass. Nazi ass was flying every direction by the end of the European theatre.

Second Ive have never once fired on anyone who did not display clear hostile intent (ie. He Shot at me). @sanzo No intent to start an arguement here, but, in said conlicts WIN or LOSE is tough to define. Factually speaking, we entered Vietnam to stop the NLF and Communism from spreading into S. Vietnam, fearing that if it did, it would spread even futhur south, down to Australia/New Zealand. If you calculate success by enemy casualties, US forces suffered far less. However, when we did withdraw, Vietnam did fall to Communist rule, as did Cambodia & Laos. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

@sanzo As far as Iraq is cocerned, we have not lost. In part, this is because it's tough to define why exactly we engaged initailly. For one to define defeat, a definition of victory must exist. Iraq has so many variables. There were no WMD's, a loss of initail cause. We did force Saddam out of power. We've tried, and we continue to try to stabilize the region; a work in progress. I personally think that nation building through massive defecit spending and moreover, loss of US lives is foolish

@tj1774 those are two different wars. if im not mistaken, desert storm is when we were fighting with iraqi military for their freedom and eventually liberated them. and then while our soldiers were still over there straighting things up ( technically the war was over ) a new problem ocured and that was the taliban doing terrorist acts on both middle eastern and american soils. and now we are getting rid of them.
