Ah the 486. I had an sx was the first machine i used napster with lol. It would play an mp3. Wish i had a Dx. SX had no co processor. And was slower. Its the Celeron of the pentiums. Budge CPU. Strong and steady but slow.

i have an old 386sx with 840k of RAM and dr dos 6 installed on it. i was going to put ms dos and windows 95 on it but my pc didnt meet the minimum requirements. so after watching this... WINDOWS 3.1 FOR THE WIN!!

I am connecting to internet through ADSL and router, so:

Install Microsoft TCP/IP-32 and configure it with your router/lan settings (or use "automatic" settings) . When running IE use false data when asking about modem connection. Now, IE should use TCP/IP information.

@PabloAMedinaS Alguien tuvo la gentileza de darte la respuesta a cómo conectar un PC con win 3.1 a la red. La cuestión es, que difces que utilizarás Internet Explorer 3 Con esa versión no podrás ver más que algun resto de páginas antiquísimas que pueda quedar en algún servidor. Actual no te va a mostrar practicamente ninguna página correctamente. La última versión fue la 5, que no te va a mostrar elementos en flash, etc, pero tal vez podrás ver algo medio coherente (con la 3 seguro que ni eso).

@PabloAMedinaS creo que lo más fácil es ponerle un cable de red que lo conecte a tu router. luego como dicen poner el TCP IP en automático. Con el TCP IP bien configurado, deberías navegar en Internet.

Put a network cable for link to the home router, and then set TCP IP in automatic mode. If the network settings are well, you could navigate on Internet.

Są w internecie wersje 3.0-5.0 dla windows 3.11. Pobrałem, przeniosłem dyskietkami, zainstalowałem.

Karta sieciowa na isa -> router pod neostradę. Pod win 3.1 działają wersje IE do 5.0 (przy 8mb ram lepiej 3.0 wgrać). Da się sciągnąć z neta bez problemu :P. Niezbędne są też sterowniki pod kartę sieciową pod 3.11 i TCP/IP 3.2 bodajże (na tym w IE nie działa internet).

Well, Pentium proccessors have integrated coproccessor, usualy more memory than 16 mb. Even 486 DX4 100Mhz is slower than Pentium I 75 Mhz. Why? Better technology.
